I have been at Waterstones during every single visit of mine to the British Isles, and it is always a little joy to wander around their thematic departments, leaf through some possible purchase and inhale the ubiquitous smell of printed paper. Waterstones in Cork city centre is no exception.

This has been and still remains the best book store in Cork in my opinion. The only real competitor is Easons, also on Patrick Street. However, Waterstones does retain more of a "pure bookshop feel" than Easons. The store has been in Cork since 1988 and remains a firm favourite amongst book lovers. Its well laid out so you can browse very effectively by category.

Osum book store. I just want to spend my whole day here. I am a reader and this place is heaven for me .. it's adjacent to Bank of Ireland. Good part is they categorized the books so it's easy to find your one.

Stunning book store, makes you want to stay in all day. Some books have short messages/reviews written on paper and tacked onto the shelves (see photo attached). The children's books section is especially top notch!

Book have always been so important and wonderful bookshops like Waterstones should never go out of fashion. They have the usual excellent selection of reading material and now with the festive season upon us once again, it is a great place to find unusual and quirky gifts and games that all ages will enjoy. Waterstones is one of the best bookshop in Cork. I was looking for Egyptian history, mythology and Gods book and I finally got it.

Waterstones is my one-stop shop for books in Cork City Also , more importantly, the staff are always so nice and knowledgeable.

Great bookstore, with such a huge range. It’s one of those places I can get lost in for an hour just browsing and always end up finding something interesting. The staff are phenomenal - always seem to be so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Love the atmosphere - just hoping that Waterstones will continue to invest in store. It’s a real treasure trove of books and just such a nice resource to have in the city centre.

It has a really large selection of books, stationery, and other stuff. It's just the right size to feel homely. The staff are lovely. They are always floating around the store. Highly recommended.

Great store. Lots of diversity and really friendly staff. Staff also rates and describes favorite books which gives it a nice human touch. They also have a cool gift selection.

Used to be a beautiful bookshop. Still a good selection of books, but absolutely filled with tat in the kid's section - avoid unless you want to risk tantrums.

Best bookshop in the city for variety of books. Other books shops tend to have bestsellers almost exclusively, but Waterstones will stock the more obscure and have a better genre selection

Love this bookstore for the extra bits, journels Tarot cards, they have everything a girl needs. Always the newest books out or can order

My go-to book store. It has a really large selection of books, stationery, and other stuff. It's just the right size to feel homely. The staff are lovely. I love this store too much man. Everytime I go in just to look, or for one book, I end up leaving with more then three. 😂 The people who work there are always lovely, respectful, friendly and helpful. Thanks to all who work there. You make visiting your place a nice time. I know it sounds silly for a bookstore, but it really has a nice atmosphere.
