Sometimes
when
you
walk
into
a
shop
you
immediately
recognise
the
importance
of
shopping
local
within
your
community.
Hickeys
is
one
such
shop.
It
has
the
feeling
of
a
shop
that
has
expanded
and
and
adapted
as
time
and
trends
have
changed
over
the
years.
My
trip
was
for
a
tin
of
paint
but
I
took
the
opportunity
to
preamble
around
and
peruse
the
aisles.
The
shop
is
deceptively
big
once
you
walk
in
and
has
a
large
of
stock
of
anything
one
might
need
for
a
DIY
project
or
an
more
substantial
renovation.
The
mammoth
DIY
superstores
have
more
than
likely
made
life
more
difficult
for
stores
such
as
this
one,
but
they
don't
offer
a
personal
experience
either,
which
is
what
I
think
most
people
want.
If
you
go
into
these
mammoth
superstores,
you
will
immediately
recognise
the
staff
are
avoiding
customers
in
order
to
not
answer
questions.
This
is
the
opposite
in
Hickeys
where
staff
ask
if
they
can
assist
you.
I
was
served
by
who
I
believe
to
be
the
owner
of
the
store
and
it
was
entirely
pleasant
and
informative.
I'd
recommend
shopping
here
if
you
want
to
keep
local
business
alive
and
thriving.
