This has to be the bookshop with the best customer service in the world. Their knowledge of books and suitability for different ages and personalities is unmatched. I ordered three books for my nephews over the phone and they individually packed the books and added a personalised note. They go above and beyond to help their customers even when ordering from the other side of the world. A true gem.Thank you!

This place is fantastic - a complete wonderland of cards, stationery, gifts and crafts. Extremely helpful staff - and you will find a card for every occasion here. I got a lovely box of jigsaws here last year which really helped through lockdown - I simply cannot recommend Joyce's highly enough - so glad they're open again.

This shop is super nice, you can find so many different types of toys, books, cards, very unique. Found some montessori books for my 3 year old and she loved it! Some family games as well. It is a great shop. Couldn't afford buying always from here, but it's definitely a shop to visit every now and then.

LOVE LOVE THIS SHOP! Came across this place by accident today. Bought a few presents for my upcoming newborn niece. The selection for gift and card ideas is great. Also good for boardgames and books. Worth a visit when in Cork!

This has to be one of my favourite shops in the city. Such an eclectic mix of things, and incredibly kind and helpful staff.

Unpleasant service! Shopping bags are thrown to customers. They react irritably to questions. They respond rudely to foreigners.

Such a gorgeous shop for anyone with a sense of curiosity and imagination. Especially those into games or creative expression. It also smells really nice.

It is not an educational supply store but a wonderful old world craft, toy shop. They also have a fantastic selection of cards for every occasion. A jem of a shop.

We were looking for a wooden doll house/play house for my daughter. We couldn't find anything suitable in the larger you stores so a friend brought Joyce's to our attention. They implemented stringent Covid 19 measures in limiting numbers into the shop & providing hand sanitiser. In-store the staff were friendly & helpful in identity our needs & providing us with the options they had which met our requirements. This was done in a very professional & non-pressurised manner. We found thewooden doll house/play house for my daughter that we were looking for & left satisfied customers. Would highly recommend

I LOVE this shop. It has the best selection of greetings cards I've ever come across - I always go looking for cards there and usually leave with more than I intended. It's also a treasure trove of toys, puppets, stationery & other fun stuff - I always try to visit Joyce if I'm in Cork city!

I went to the toyshop today with my two kids and my Mother. My Mother wanted to buy the kids their Christmas present. When my daughter entered the shop (nearly 9) the owner asked her abruptly if she was being supervised before she entered. I thought this was strange as clearly there was two adults behind her. We were then told we had three minutes to shop and then had to leave the store (this was at 4.50pm). We were told the time 5pm to 6pm was for elderly shoppers. My Mother is 75 and mentioned she was elderly but there was no reply. It was all a bit strange but I thought maybe he had a long day and perhaps some kids had previously misbehaved that day. My daughter was picking out a Jelly cat black labrador teddy to give to my Mother to purchase and a large older lady came over to her and grabbed the toy out of her hand and said, "get your hands off it, this is for display only". It was only when we went outside my daughter burst into tears and told me what happened. I can't put into words how irate I am. My children are well behaved, well mannered and show respect in shops and restaurants because that is how they have been raised. Shame on you for treating a child so appallingly!!!!! I buy from your shop all the time (when my children aren't with me) and it is crystal clear that you do not want children in your shop. Tip: if you don't like children, don't have a children's store. I will never set foot in your shop again. Ye should call to Arts & Hobby in Douglas and learn how children should be treated. Maybe it's time to hand over the reigns as you are both clearly not very happy.
