👍👍 I go here once or twice a week. Their menu is great: classic brunch stuff. also salads and sandwiches. The management and staff are lovely too. The cafe decor is old-style, comfy and, for the times we're living in, well ventilated. Highly recommended. People often mention cafe, staff, recommend, nice, great, coffee, Staff, friendly, good, service,

Giving one star for the very rude... I’m assuming the manager!! The lady.. doesn’t know how to give proper customer service! No hospitality! Just straight up yelled at us that they don’t have any bread when we asked for sandwich as if she didn’t want us there ! And was not patient enough to answer my doubts about the filling for the wrap .... gave us stale relish ! The carrot cake was bad ... Very dirty spoons ! Very unwelcoming! Never stepping here again ! As a food safety manager I wouldn’t recommend to eat here because the food tasted like it was plastic ! But the coffee was very served by the lovely barista ... who I hope is treated well by the management....

Staff kind, fair prices. Unfortunately the yolk in the benedict eggs was overcooked, but we will give a second chance, we'll be back and I'm sure next time we will update the review to 5 stars

Not a bad establishment for Cork. There are hot breakfasts and that's nice. Not super tasty, but not terrible either. Polite staff, calm atmosphere.

This is a great little cafe in the same shopping arcade as TK Maxx. It does a lot right like the lighting is perfect, the coffee is very smooth and drinkable, and in general the ambiance is pleasant. The staff are usually really nice and friendly but unfortunately not today. It felt like I was bothering the member of staff with my order but she may have just been having a bad day. I think the coffee is better here than any of the pubs in the area which is what brings me back. I haven't sampled the food so I can't comment. Just updating this review to a 4star and really want to take the time to compliment the service I received at this cafe today. A girl from Louisiana, if I recall correctly, took my order with such a pleasant attitude. She deserves a mention (and raise) as does the tall bespectacled gent who made my coffee. The food was palpably fresh and the ambience in this cafe is great. You won't find the likes of it in chains like Starbucks or Costa... heartily recommend and will return.

Came here on Thursday for a quick cuppa and scone. Lovely smell in the cafe, everything homemade. When we walked into the cafe it was quite busy which was a good sign. Latte nice and scone fine too. I would of preferred if the scone was warm when served and there was a bit of a baking powder taste to it but I enjoyed the scone though. Staff were jolly. All in all I did have a nice experience in De Calf Cafe and will be coming back :) .

I went a Sunday morning and it was very busy, the selection was amazing and I had the pancakes with bacon and it was lovely, there was plenty of staff on but service was a bit slow, I would highly recommend it for somewhere to eat especially if you are visiting Cork over the weekend when it can be hard to find a place on Sunday mornings.

Welcome to this charming and warming place: De calf Café!! There were lots of people when I arrived to eat (was on Sunday around 1.30 pm with no reservation) The food is very good and service was fast. I chose the Eggs Benedict with the choice of spinach (11€). Friends told me that the place can be noisy due to dishes that are put away or washed and it's true. Staff is very nice! Have a great moment with your friends and people you love in this restaurant/café!

Nice cafe for breakfast. Lots of choice and quality is good. Coffee is ok. Lots of tables and is usually not too busy. Lunch sandwiches are also very good. Staff are excellent and really friendly and accommodating. Up until recently, it was very good value. Bumped their prices which I guess is expected but €8 for a kids breakfast meal is very steep - used to be €6!

I had the eggs Benedict with salmon and a bottle of sparkling water. I think the bread could have done with a bit more toasting and the hollandaise sauce seemed a bit off, lemony almost. Service was average. For €12.85 altogether, I would’ve expected a little more.

amazing place! reasonably priced and such good quality! Really busy inside though, would recommend coming a bit earlier than expected if you’d like a table! Although people weren’t waiting for long outside!

We go to this cafe all the time. The food is freshly prepared, all day brunch menu. Excellent coffee, teas etc. and the choice of desserts are just yum. The staff are friendly and efficient and no matter how busy it is (which is often), bear with the staff and you will find a table,

Decent enough. I go there often due to working near by. Staff are friendly enough. Quick service. Food is decent. The coffee isn’t great. A few times I’ve ordered a sandwich from the menu and it has had an ingredient missing or replaced with something else which is a bit annoying. Overall it’s a good place to go for a sandwich but I’d recommend getting one made up yourself to avoid disappointment. The salads are not made in house they are ordered in and they don’t taste great. Nice decor. Overall it’s a nice enough cafe.

I've been around a while and have ate a few toasted sandwiches in my day, but the toasted ham special here is one the best👍💯

De Calf cafe is one of my favourite cafes in Cork. The food is fresh and soo delicious. The Staff are friendly and attentive to your needs and are efficient in all they do.They kindly returned money to my family when they overcharged us by mistake. We appreciated their honesty as we did not observe the cost. I would highly recommend this unique cafe with old world charm and modern choice of food and drinks. I love this eatery as do my children who swear by the ice cream you can buy there. Never change

Lovely clean, warm & spacious rustic interior. Got the quiche twice, it comes with two side salads. Flavorful and delicious. Only complaint is the portion of quiche is too small for the price of €8.50.

Very fast service. Just toddle up to the counter, place your order and sit down. The food is brought to your table so no need to balance tray load of food with one hand and shopping with the other. Tables are, for the main designed for 2 people and they are adequate. The food? Good value for money - and I'm an AOP on state pension. Yep. We had a nice sojourn there yesterday Thanks
