If you are on the Titanic trail or learning about the Lusitania this is a must visit stop. There’s a car park across the road for about 15 cars or so. It will only take you about 15/20 mins for a look around. There’s a few mass graves to the victims of the Lusitania disaster as well as graves of soldiers both British and Irish.

The Clonmel Cemetery (Old Church Cemetery) holds so much history of Ireland in one location. From the boxer Jack Doyle to the mass graves of the Lusitania. This cemetery is part of the Titanic Trail. The ground is mostly small rock with no stairs, so it's easy to walk. Please be respectful and don't walk over the graves.

The final resting place of over 11,000 souls spanning over 3 centuries, this graveyard is probably this most cosmopolitan in Ireland with over 30 nationalities represented. Victims of the Lusitania, the boxer and entertainer Jack Doyle, the surgeon appointed to Napoleon on St. Helena, a countess and a renowned poet lie side by side with countless victims of TB and many seafaring tragedies.

Old Church Ruins & Cemetery is a place to visit and learn about a lot of history. Irish Boxer Jack Doyle was laid to rest here along with mass graves from tragic events. We visited on a tour with a local who really knew the history.

It's a real pity that the Old Church ruins and Cemetery is not maintained at all!

Beautiful cemetary with many interesti pieces of tombstones. There used to be an old church but you can only find it’s ruins and the cemetady that was left behind.

👍👍 Nice, short, but very beautiful walk. Great views of the harbour, Cobh, Spike Island and Crosshaven. There is a coffee stall and public toilets on site. Great history boards all around the route. Very well presented and frames the town of Cobh beautifully for photographs

👍👍 Always fantastic courses from the crew at SailCork. Have done an online navigation course and a number of introductory courses to planning and piloting West Cork and they have been so informative. Great admin team too - helpful and friendly.
