What an amazing castle. How the hell did they build it or quarry the foundation blocks

Beautiful old castle in the middle of the river. Limited parking and didn't see any public access to the castle itself. Still a nice park to stop for a picnic and enjoy the view.

Picturesque castle setting in mid cork. One of only two castles in Europe built in the middle of a bridge crossing a river. Local public house next-door (carrig Inn)

Beautiful! Although cannot go inside, it's worth the drive to see, take a self-guided history walk through the town and drive across it's bridge

I could not see the castle or how to gain access. My fiance's mom has Carrig as a maiden name and I wanted to be able to tell my daughter more about her lineage.

Beautiful old and very rare castle built on a rock in the middle of the river lee. The castle is not restored but definitely worth a visit. Parking and picnic area next to the river and a walk along the river edge.

Haunting castle ruins "floating" in the water. Beautiful scenery, very pretty village.

Wasn't there but was stuck on a bus trying to get through the bridge next to it. Looks very nice outside.

This can only be seen from the outside, it is closed as the building is not structurally sound. Saw this by paddle board. Worth going up to have a look to see the castle up close and personal. This can only be done if the flow of water is slow which depends on the small dam upstream.
