This is a great and grueling hike but the views at the top are definitely worth the struggles to the top. When you get to the fork in the trail on the climb up stay to the right to remain on the main trail. If you want to cut the trail and go up a steep incline then you can go to the left. There is ample parking in the lot at the top. On our way in we passed about 40 cars parked on the road and when we got to the lot there was easily 20+ spots available.

It took us about an hour and a half to get to the peak of the mountain but the view was truly amazing; the quality and breadth of the scenery simply cannot be described with pictures or words. It's not an easy climb to the top, the trip took a lot longer than I expected. There were many areas where the incline was steep, the experience was similar to walking down and up the stairs of the Tallulah Gorge. There are short cuts along the way, if you find one, it's well worth taking. Some will say that the scenery is better when taking the longer route but we had taken the longer routes and the scenery and views weren't any better.

A Trail is approximately 2 miles, part of the trail is rocky. Parking space is limited and there is no asphalt from the highway to the parking (~0.4 miles). I recommend it

Not a easy trail by far but definitely a good hike to go on. The view was amazing and most of the hike wasn't too hard. Best to go early on a hot day. Lots of trees on the top of the mountain so you have to find yourself a nice view spot. There's also a camp ground at the top. You'll drive up a dirt road to park so I wouldn't come on a rainy wet day. The path is pretty clear. It breaks off into a rocky road at one point and ventures kinda back into the woods. I think at the breaking point there might a been rest rooms. This was like double the distance of stone mountain but there wasn't any really steep parts. I'd say the hike is moderate. Some real nice openings before you reach the top.

Awesome views. Around 5 mile round trip to the top and back. It is steep in some areas but not too bad overall. Definitely rough trial in some spots which, I feel, makes it more of a challenge than steepness. Outhouse at the trailhead and another 3/4ish of the way to the top. You can camp around second outhouse and also camp at the top. First come first serve no designated sites.

Parking was plentiful. We went on a Thursday afternoon and there where a few large groups of kids from a summer camp. Once we got past them there weren't too many people on the trail. The views at the top are definitely worth the push. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks! Once at the top there is a loop with 3 different Lookout spots! We stopped and had our snacks and enjoyed the view before heading back down.

Awesome hike! Highly recommended! The hike is somewhat difficult with lots of incline and rocky terrain but the view at the top is worth the effort.

A fairly moderate level hike to the top if you're in shape. The almost panoramic view overlooking local farm lands and neighboring mountains is quite an experience! Just a friendly reminder to stay away from the edge.

Awesome trail, and like others have said it is not for beginners. It is however well worth the hike up. It was a very busy trail for a October Saturday, lots of people and dogs. People were parking on the street when there is plenty of parking at the trail head. I would suggest driving to the top before parking at the bottom.

Mount Yonah is my favorite hike in the North Georgia Mountains. It's strenuous enough to feel like you did something, but not out of range for the average hiker. And the payoff is amazing. It's always windy up there so be prepared. I always see hammocks up there so if that's your thing you'll find lots of perfect trees.

I loved this hike. It is a little workout but not too bad. The view at the top makes it totally worth it.

Believe this to be something more than "moderate". Expect fairly steep trail, slick with clay and leaves if wet. Some pathways are not visible with all the autumn leaves. Lower flat area pictures available, 2nd tier, apparently an Army training space, is tree covered. Started too late to actually make the summit. Expect about a 4 hour completion time, and we were not exactly slow climbing. Very good views.
