During
my
childhood
in
the
Seattle
suburbs,
I
would
make
regular
trips,
approximately
twice
a
month,
to
the
Pike
Place
Market.
It
was
always
an
exciting
adventure,
exploring
the
various
stalls
and
browsing
through
comic
books
and
magic
stores.
And
of
course,
no
trip
was
complete
without
a
visit
to
the
one
and
only
Starbucks
in
the
world
at
that
time,
where
I
would
grab
my
much-needed
coffee
fix
and
indulge
in
some
delicious
hom
bow
from
Mee
Sum
Pasty
or
other
delightful
treats
nearby.
It's
fascinating
how
that
single
store
has
grown
into
a
massive
coffee
empire
over
the
decades.
However,
now
I
find
myself
putting
an
end
to
my
daily
pilgrimage
for
my
favorite
caffeinated
beverages,
at
least
when
it
comes
to
this
particular
location
-
3424
Pacific
Ave,
Forest
Grove,
OR
97116.
The
staff
there,
while
skilled
at
whipping
up
an
impressive
array
of
drinks,
seem
rather
unenthusiastic
about
taking
the
time
to
create
anything
beyond
the
quickest
options
available.
Initially,
I
thought
this
was
an
attempt
to
keep
the
drive-through
and
dine-in
lines
moving
swiftly,
but
it
resulted
in
me
receiving
drinks
that
were
far
from
what
I
had
ordered.
Perhaps
the
staff's
mindset
is
to
swiftly
usher
one
customer
out
the
door,
regardless
of
whether
their
order
is
accurate
or
not,
so
they
can
move
on
to
the
next
person.
It
seems
that
the
focus
is
more
on
the
quantity
of
beverages
produced
rather
than
the
quality
and
precision
of
each
order.
This
is
evident
by
the
countless
patrons
in
the
drive-through
or
those
who
pre-order
online,
who
manage
to
receive
their
drinks,
place
them
in
their
cup
holders,
and
speed
off
without
a
second
thought.
Unfortunately,
by
the
time
they
take
their
first
sip,
they're
already
miles
away
from
3424
Pacific
Ave
and
would
find
it
too
inconvenient
to
turn
back
and
have
their
order
corrected.
If
these
mix-ups
were
occasional,
I
could
understand
that
mistakes
happen.
However,
it
has
now
reached
a
point
where
incorrect
beverages
are
nearly
as
frequent
as
the
correct
ones,
if
not
more
so.
It's
not
quite
a
50/50
ratio
yet,
but
it's
heading
in
that
direction.
I
can't
help
but
wonder
if
the
staff's
focus
is
solely
on
increasing
their
numbers.
Perhaps
they
are
inadequately
trained
or
find
it
challenging
to
remember
all
the
ingredients.
In
some
instances,
they
might
even
find
humor
in
giving
a
customer
decaf
or,
in
the
worst-case
scenario,
deliberately
sabotaging
the
beverages.
It's
disappointing
to
witness
this
decline
in
quality
and
accuracy
in
a
place
that
has
become
synonymous
with
coffee
culture.
As
a
long-time
patron,
I
had
hoped
for
consistency
and
reliability
in
my
daily
coffee
routine.
However,
it
seems
I
may
have
to
explore
other
options
and
bid
farewell
to
my
regular
visits
to
this
particular
Starbucks
location.
