Your man Mark is a man of legend. He has the pint pouring ability of a god and serves the most delicious porter in the state of California if not the whole USA. Fair play to yer man.

This is the best Irish bar in San Diego. Bartenders are so friendly and the food is AMAZING! Now several new vegan options. Great Guinness. Best place to watch hockey! We come here at least weekly. One of the best local bars in downtown. St. Paddy's was out of this world!

Great vibes for an Irish Pub, friendly owner, and delicious food. Overall, a fun place to grab a bite to eat and talk to some locals when traveling through San Diego. The poutine and brie quesadillas were awesome! Highly recommend!

I like this place. Yes, it's dark and the air's a bit stale. But the food is surprisingly good, the Guinness flows freely, and the (assumed) owner treats everyone like they're a distant cousin (in a comfortable Irish way). My go to dishes are the fish and chips or the chicken pot pie, but my colleagues say that the other dishes are also great

Wonderful food, as always, and exceptional service. Music was enjoyable, and they were playing some great shows on TV. Went to celebrate my birthday early, and it was everything I hoped it'd be.

Best hockey bar in SD! Great Guinness on tap, excellent burger and potato skins. A must for me during hockey playoffs

Best Reuben sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Friendly service and reasonable prices. Definitely worth trying this place out if you’re in the area. One of my go to places here in downtown San Diego.

Loved this place. Didn’t eat but had a few great pours of Guinness and watched a hockey game. The Canadian hockey memorabilia was impressive as a Canadian visitor. Definitely check it out.

Would have liked to try the food we had heard so much about, unfortunately we apparently showed up too late (9PM on a Saturday) and were told by the only staff member around that the kitchen was closed. After realizing that he was the only person staffing the pub and waiting some time to even place a drink order or ask about a menu/selection I sensed he was obviously overwhelmed we decided to try our luck elsewhere. Hopefully they'll still be there (and better staffed) on our next trip to San Diego... ...two stars for being Canadian alone

My boyfriend lives right around the corner and we love this spot for a last minute outing. Bryan, one of the bartenders is awesome, we always love chatting and receiving his service. Thanks for being such a wonderful local spot :)

This was a really comfortable classic pub style bar with a bit of an emphasis on hockey, which was great. The service was fast and friendly and the pub atmosphere made it easy to talk and play cards while drinking beer.

Excellent spot to grab some food and a pint. If you're a hockey fan, this pub is for you. It's good for any sports fan, though.

Unpretentious public house with good selection of beers and a cider on tap and simple quality food. We ordered and would recommend the chicken pot pie, chicken tenders and sweet potato fries.

This place is a great find! I work next door. I took my twin sister here today on a break... Eliene was our waitress, she is so cool! We are definitely going back! We were dressed up today as ourselves, the twins and it was a fun day, since we dressed up the same! The reuben was delicious... we shared one & it was more than enough!

Fun and warm atmosphere I can either have a drink and relax or tend to my studies on an average night and enjoy a Guinness. You just may run into some out of country, yet, freindly traveller's here! :D

Old school pub. Upstairs area. Mark was awesome as our bartender. Never ate the food so couldn't grade it but everyone says it's great!

Very nice pub style place. Looks like it'd be a great place to watch all types of sports. Went there before a show at the civic theater. Sat at the bar, and bartender was good kept checking up on us. We had the Ruben with frice and shepards pie. Both were very good and tasty, will go there again when in the area and seeing a show or concert at the House of Blues.

Great service, simple good tasting food in a calm no thrills pub Simple meals in a laid back pub with fast and friendly / personal service. No crazy stuff going on in here so safe for families, food was relatively well priced for the serving you got, wasn't left feeling hungry I can recommend the sandwiches and I was told the fish and chips were good also 👍 Good spot for an easy meal in downtown

Brian was awesome! He was a one man show tonight. Covered all the tables with ease. Thanks for a great experience. The Reuben and chicken pot pie were great. Highly recommend

Great pub, less touristy than many others nearby. Just went in for a beer and stayed for about seven "last beers" because of the really good conversations. Great selection of drinks and fair prices, would recommend.

I love this place. Mark is super friendly and makes you feel very welcome. Their food is incredible. The Irish breakfast (served all day) is my go to.

Small Mom and Pop Irish themed pub in the middle of the town. They have about a dozen beers on tap and a full service bar. Bartender was friendly and pretty damned efficient given that they don't have a POS and have to ring orders manually. Better half had the chicken pot pie which was excellent. Menu had lots of good options from salads to burgers to pasta to Irish dishes. Will definitely be back if we're in the area again.

Service was fantastic, didn't have to flag anyone down for a refill on my beer. Was asked if I wanted another BEFORE it was empty! Food was decent as well, it's bar food, it goes well with beer. Only thing I'd say is that the bar surface could use a good cleaning and be refinished. It was feeling a little sticky from years of heavy use.

This place was a gem! The bartender was amazing and he was so helpful. Love love love the accent! 😍 Typically bar food is mediocre at best, but the food tasted great! They a very wide selection of beer and food too. We had potato skins and Shepard pie and both were YUMMY! I saw other people getting salads and sandwiches which looked delicious too! It had a little patio section as well for people watching. It was a little warm and stuffy inside, but hopefully in peak summer they turn on the air. 😄 I'm definitely looking forward to coming back.

Only been once so far but will definitely be back. If you're lookin for good drink prices and an UNREAL Reuben sandwich, this is the spot. The food was delicious and they played the sound for hockey games !!

Here to support my Brother and his team at this Miami Dolphins Bar! I've known it for a Hockey Bar buy pretty cool he has a place to gather with other Dolphin fans. Had the Irish Breakfast but sadly they had no "Irish" Coffee.

An old favorite that we frequently visited when we lived in San Diego. Was in town and had to visit our favorite hockey bar. Always excellent food. Mark and Dave still have a great restaurant and bar! Miss you guys. Paula & Jeff

Great local Irish pub. They have great happy hour prices, including Guinness. I had the chicken pot pie (see the picture with the ridiculous puffed pastry on top... Lol) It was very light and tasty. The puffed pastry was perfectly crisp and flaked into my pot pie, yum. The stew was delicious and savory. They add Irish soda bread on the side which provides a bit of sweetness. This adds the perfect touch to balance out the deep savory flavors. This is a hockey bar, so if you love hockey this is the place to be.

The service was impeccable! The bartender was running his butt off once it picked up. Even once it picked up he made sure our beer glasses were never empty. He was the only bartender/server and he was amazing. My boyfriend ordered the fish and chips and said it was okay, not the best he's ever had but good. I ordered the corned beef hash off their all day breakfast and it was okay. The corned beef was the star of the show, as it should be, and had the perfect amount of potatoes, peppers, and onions with it. However, it was under seasoned. I ordered my eggs over easy and the yokes were completely cooked hard again absolutely devoid of seasoning. Lastly, my toast came without any butter or jelly and was extremely dry. When I asked for butter or jelly I recieved cold hard butter for my now cold toast. Overall, service was amazing and the food was okay.

Food was good. Service was the slowest I've ever had. Took 40 minutes to get our drinks then another 40 minutes to place our food order. Then the server forgot to ring in one of the dinners so 1 guest didn't eat. Restaurant wasn't busy.

Great service, warm feeling. Tried and paired the Guinness stout in the menu with a pint of Guinness and it was a great match. The Shepard's pie isn't bad either.

Had the Irish stew and wife had the Reuben. Had mussels as an appetizer. Food and service were great. The bar regulars were so much fun. They made us feel welcome and included us in their conversation. They gave us menu recommendations. It was a really great evening. I highly recommend.

An Irish pub. World cup in progress. So, what's on TV? Hockey! Ok. Of the many TVs, 2 were showing World Cup and most of the rest were on thr Buffalo vs. Montreal hockey match. Place is decorated with hockey jerseys. I loved it. Service and food were excellent. Prices were quite reasonable. I may get back to Stout some day. Hope so.
