Beautiful small site in the town, clean and well maintained. Being the only visitor, the site was closed in the morning but a next door neighbor called the staff and 10 minutes later someone showed up and opened it for me. Friendly and helpful people around, don't be afraid to ask their help if the gate is closed. Worth the stop if you are around.

A nicely kept site in a park-like setting, right in town. Very accessible, and the staff member on site was very knowledgeable about the history. And it's the birthplace of the Mestizo people!

Very close to town, can even walk there if you want. Only one temple but cost is low and area is well maintained. Can take your time and relax there. The resident iguanas were great to watch too.

It is in town. If you blink too much you may miss it. It is a historical Maya site.

This is the easiest site to climb. You can really catch the breeze at the top. The town is built on an ancient site and this is what is left. The folks here have worked really hard over the last several months and it's amazing to see the results. The grounds are raked on a daily basis, often in long sleeves with humdity at 70% or higher.

It was a happy accident that I got to experience Santa Rita Ruins in Corozal. My Mexico Belize travel was delayed causing me to overnight in CZH and my taxi driver toured the ruins with me before dropping me off at my hotel (The Mirador). While Santa Rita is much smaller in size compared to some of the bigger Belize Mayan Sites I have been to like Lamanai in Orange walk, Altun Ha north of Belize City, and Cahal Pech in San Ignacio, it was still very cool to see.

Not as big as some of the ruins in Belize, but Santa Rita is no less important to Mayan history. And it's in a beautiful setting within walking distance of downtown Corozal.

Smaller site..but so peaceful and clean. Lots of Iguana's in the trees. Definately worth a visit.

What a place! Visited in mid afternoon, the only ones here. Ancient ruins and loads of iguanas! We got so many great photographs. Very enjoyable spot for an hour.
