Loved the hideout on the horseshoe, very beautiful, romantic, the view is gorgeous. I def recommend it’s great for couples, families. They have grilling pits, the have lounge chairs, the cabins are comfy and nice. I went in October so water was cold but want to return in the summer. I noticed you have to book far in advanced because it books so quick! They are fully booked for summer 2022 and fall!

We stayed at Hideout on the Horseshoe for a wedding. The place was very rustic, which created a superb ambiance. The amenities were wonderful with great updated bathrooms, rainstorm showers, and a heat and air conditioning system that allowed you to get the temperature that suits your needs. The location overlooking the Guadalupe river is phenomenal. The massive decks and play area for the kids made socializing easy. The communication from the staff was inviting and timely. We really enjoyed our short time at the Hideout, wish we could have stayed longer. I highly recommend staying with them and bringing your event as they have ample facilities for a group. A few things, there are refrigerators but no stove or utensils, so plan accordingly. Bring your own coffee and filter as their small coffee makers are hotel quality…there is a voodoo coffee stand a few steps away.

I loved it! If you planning on having a wedding this place is perfect you can rent the whole place and it has different design cabins to accommodate your guests and if you need a photographer I will be more than happy to capture your special moments.

I got married here yesterday, I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful venue to get married at, not only that but they hands down have the best staff we could've asked for, no matter what went wrong or what we needed they were right there to help and they did it with a smile. Not only that but you could tell they genuinely just wanted us to have the easiest and best experience possible. Thank y'all so much for everything the staff will definitely be remember and appreciated for years to come. It was such a great experience and I couldn't have asked for anything to be better it was heaven on earth. Thank you for being a part of our special day!!!

My husband and I found Hideout on the Horseshoe while looking for a quiet location for a quick getaway to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We decided to spend a bit higher than we normally would and we are very glad that we did. We booked one of the "Honeymoon Cabins" the Alamo. If you have mobility issues I suggest choosing a different cabin. This is a walk up location. Both honeymoon cabins are separated from the parking area at the end of a lovely stone walk that is vine covered. This adds to the feeling of privacy. Location is beautiful with lovely views. Patios and decks overlook the River. Our cabin interior was very clean and comfortable. It appears that the coffee bar area, the AC, and ceiling fans have been recently upgraded. The furnishings are pretty and good quality. Living room and bedroom had smart TVs. I saw another review that claiming the bed is a full not a Queen. The bed currently in the cabin is a queen with a good mattress. TIPS: The coffee bar area is well stocked but if you are like me and prefer your own grounds just get the small filters for a four cup maker and you are good to go. The cabin is not stocked with any dishes or utensils so come prepared with what you need to avoid a trip to the store. Who wants to spend time doing dishes anyway. 😉 If traffic noise is a concern for you I suggest bringing a fan or white noise machine. There is an attractive rustic barrier secluding the property from the highway but the traffic noise is still noticeable. Overall we were very happy with our stay however, the exterior has some maintenance issues. I know they are rustic but several cabins had some trim falling off, the decks all seem to need to be resealed or stained. Our deck had water damage and the creeping vines are taking over the end near the bedroom french doors. We couldn't use that area. Some of the stones in the walk are shifting and unstable.

This was our second time visiting, and we’ve fallen in love with this place! The private river access and staff hospitality are amazing perks. We love to sit on the back patio and watch the moon and stars while listening to the sounds of the river and nature. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The walk-in shower was really nice, having excellent water pressure, temperature, and shower head options. Don’t underestimate the luxury of getting a really nice shower after playing in the sun and river all day. Getting a free shuttle every morning to the launch point and tubing back to the property is so fun and convenient! Plenty of local restaurants to visit or order from. Already excited to book our trip back next year!

Love love love this place! Heather at the office is so great to work with! The rooms are clean and actually are a decent size. We had a party of 7 and had two cabins. #14 is a loft and fit 5 very easily. Can definitely fit 6 if two want to share the futon. We also had #11 and that has a nice big "living room". The shuttle (bus driver is wonderful and funny) picked us up and took us to the river and it was about a 2.5 hour float. I loved the porch that overlooks the river. It's a short walk on a very lovely paved path down to the river. We can't wait to be back! 💖💖

We arranged for a late arrival. This is a non-attended facility. Wouldn't have been so difficult, but there was no light, we were assigned a room with no front window so we didn't recognize it as a room at all. Small number blended into the dark wood. Our thanks to another guest, who knew the lay-out and helped us find our room. Room was clean, rustic and comfortable.

Had our weekend wedding here, the staff was absolutely awesome! Really loved the venue. Everything about it was just amazing. From everyone getting to be together, to floating the river the day before the wedding. The guys that worked with us were so incredibly helpful! Loved this place. Will be staying here again too!!!

Great location of seeing a concert. Very sparsely outfitted so pack like you’re camping (no spoons, knives, handsoap, etc). Floating was very confusing this year- lots of walking with heavy coolers too. Hoping that’s ironed out soon. We stayed in one of the lofts and the walls were so thin our whole family was awakened every morning by the graphic ‘romance’ in the next condo. My children could hear every word and sound our neighbors made and it was awful. Also heard the other neighbors fighting and a strange man mistakenly walked into our unit because the back doors aren’t numbered. It would only take a few improvements to make it a 5 star review. But, for the price- hideout must do better (and pay for more insulation between rooms).

Beautiful wedding venue, staff excellent, cabins clean and comfortable. Down side-put up some hooks and more hangers! Hated putting my clothes on the floor. Also a small table by the bed for glasses and phone would be great. Overall, I 'd come back anytime.

Excellent venue! Lots of fun and great, hard working staff and great location. I was part of a wedding party in August. The wedding planner they had was super sub par. She was rude, bossy and disappeared during the reception. No favors or desert were put out. Not sure if she worked for the venue or was hired outside, so of course, keeping the 5 stars for the actual venue!

Great views of the Vistas and Guadalupe River, which is accessible from all cabins. We stayed in the Honeymoon cabin that boasted great views from both rooms. It also had a gas fireplace and a beautiful copper bathtub roomy enough for two. The property was beautiful! We went off season and during the week which was great, very quiet and peaceful. This was our first visit and it will not be our last! Booking online was a breeze, staff was responsive via email and phone when I had questions. Very friendly! Check-in is no contact and completed via text. Know before you go...The cabin has a full fridge and microwave, no oven, stove or kitchen items so bring what you need.

I had a really good experience here. I've booked this at the very last minute. And I was able to get a room very easily. You pay for it they send you a text message and you don't even have to see anybody. I had one small problem and it was resolved really fast. I highly highly recommend going here very peaceful very quiet and very romantic

My husband officiated a wedding at this venue yesterday. We stayed in one of the cottages and I can honestly say we were pleasantly surprised at how inviting it was. Everything was super clean and straight, just the way my hubby likes it. The coffee was delicious too! And that was just the cottage! The venue is BEAUTIFUL! Beyond expectation! The staff was super helpful when we had a last minute addition to the ceremony. The view at the ceremony site outside was breathtaking. The waterfalls added to the ambience perfectly. The tiki torches along the ceremony path was perfect for photography and I could go on and on. I highly recommend this venue for any event.

Very nice place. It has a wonderful view. The honeymoon suite is nice and quiet! The only complaint I have is that I did notice there were a few things that have been neglected and that could be repaired quite easily. These were very minor. The only reason I didn't give it a five star.

Had a great stay with the family! There was good communication with a personal call a couple days early to see if we needed anything. The view of the river from the balcony was great (we stay in #17). My wife even caught a couple fish while there. The soaker tub was a plus! We’re definitely booking again!

Very beautiful setting, nice rooms access to the water, free shuttle service to the Guadalupe River, fire pit, huge pavilion area and big bbq pits too cook and the scenery is just beautiful. Each cabin has a extended porch with a perfect view of the river. Lots of local stores and less than a mile from the white water amphitheater.

Third year in a row staying here. Location is great and very convenient when floating the river! The only flaw I’ve noticed the past 2 years is that the fridge does not keep anything cold at all (weirdly enough we have stayed in the same cabin the past two years.) We usually stay 2 nights with a big group and bring lots of food and drinks to keep chilled so it’s just a bit upsetting when we pay a lot of money for these amenities.

We have been repetitive attendees to this location for about 11 years straight now! We could never think to go anywhere else for our annual family river trip! We are just about 4 or 5 cabins away from booking the entire complex for just our party with almost 60 of us going every year! The remodeling was done beautifully! The kid areas are a great addition. Stairs straight down to the river with an amazing private hang out area! 10/10 stay every year! Feel free to ask any questions because I'm the guy to ask!

I had busted pipes over the Christmas holidays and we rented here for my parents so that they could visit with water. The original cabin they were to stay in was the Shone, which also had a water issue due to the freeze so my parents were given a serious upgrade to one of the 3 bedroom cabins. The cabin was spacious, beautifully and simply decorated with comfortable bedding. The deck and views were beautiful from every angle and there was plenty of comfortable outdoor seating. We had a wonderful Christmas celebration at the cabin. I would highly recommend Hideout on the Horseshoe, it's a beautiful Canyon Lake experience.

Highway noise level: high. Walls painted black in room 17. No soap dish in shower, must put everything on the floor. Light switches have bright lights on them. Bad in-room coffee.

When we first arrived our cabin #12 had too many pesky flies and there was a big wasp inside the Cabin rooms. We were moved to another cabin area overnight temporarily until the problem was taken care of by the maintenance staff. We received an apology and an partial refund for the inconveniences, that we experienced during our stay at the Hideout on The Horseshoe.
