Incredibly Fun and Disability Accessible Children's Park This is an award winning, huge, aquatic themed, children's park set next to old, beautiful trees and picnic tables. There's a pirate ship, mermaids, a cave, and really everything necessary to inspire the imagination. It's also thoughtfully laid out- there's an under 5 section which is specifically designed for little ones and a larger older kid section with more challenging and exciting equipment. Young or old, kiddos will love it. The place is very clean and the equipment is well designed and in working older. I'm honestly stunned at how nice the place is and how many things there are to do- slides, climbing walls, zip lines, various see-saws, rope courses, "underground" play spaces, swings, etc. The place is perfect for "floor is lava" and any other games you might come up with. But the most impressive part of the park is how accessible it is. There are numerous areas designed for disability including a wheelchair accessible swing, an adult size swing and zip line seat with restraints, braille walls teaching the alphabet, sound play equipment, and many areas of play space accessible by ramps. Equally important, the floor is a solid rubber material instead of mulch or other loose material that would be hard/impossible to navigate with mobility aids. I truly appreciate the city's efforts to utilize universal design here and welcome all youngsters. Note- bathrooms with running water, picnic tables, and water fountains are available here. No dogs are allowed in the play areas.

I want to love this park but I had a really bad experience in the spring and recently heard about another parent’s similar bad experience. My son just turned 4 when we went in March and it was very busy. The playground is solid and you can’t see to the other side and there were some areas that were hard to follow my child because they were too low and it’s hard to go around. He got away from me and I was running around trying to find him. He was nowhere to be found and a few parents started helping me look. After several minutes we found him hiding in a corner. He pointed at two women who were very quickly leaving the park and said they were trying to get him to go with them. They didn’t have a kid with them. Over the last couple months I kind of convinced myself that maybe I overreacted and perhaps they were trying to help and then just decided to leave the park right then. The other night a friend shared a story about the same park where a woman took their friends young child and they had to run after her to get them back. The playground itself is awesome. It has little misters and it’s really accessible! If you have older kids or stay right with your young ones you will have a great time. I am not one to share the conspiracies about trafficking at target or other parking lots, this isn’t that. I just wanted to share in case someone else goes through this.

My husband and our son, David, took two of my grandchildren (Eedan and Ella) to the park today. Eedan and Ella had fun, at the park, on a cool, misty day. The park is beautiful and clean. There was a nice-sized crowd of parents and well-behaved children at the park. The restrooms were clean and well-maintained.

We love coming to this park either before or after swimming in the river at Rio Vista or Sewell! Super cute art and play area.

Excellent park/ playground to take children ages 2-12 to and many activities to do as well! Clean and well- kept.

Great play area split into 2 to 5 and 5 to 12. All equipment in very good order and safe to use with supervision, we were in the 2 to 5 area. Good range of play equipment kept our 2 year old granddaughter occupied fir nearly an hour. Would highly recommend. The picture was taken in the older area but with 2 adults supervising.

This is a perfect park for kids

Awesome place for the kiddos. Soft padded ground pa Los chikillo so they dont get hurt if the fall. It's also fenced in.

We love going to this park. Kids from 2-10 always have a great time and don’t want to leave. They have something everyone there is picnic tables to sit on and bathroom and water fountain right in front. Too bad we don’t live closer to this beautiful playground.

This park was awesome!!!! My grandson has so much fun here. I really enjoyed how they had a playground and other rides that were available for children of all ages. We will definitely be coming back to San Marcos for this park!!

This playground is amazing! It's always clean and the kids love it here. They have something for everyone! And I love that they didn't use woodchips on the ground like so many other playgrounds. The zip lines alone are worth coming here. We can easily spend a few hours here.

Place was awesome! I take my 2 yr old here pretty often and I have taken a coworkers son (9) and he loved it! Clean. Good for kids and adults. Nice walking area. And picnic tables are clean.

What a neat park. I absolutely love how inclusive it is. It is wheelchair accessible/friendly. There is a restroom and plenty of shaded areas. There is a place to get into the river. Be sure to wear water shoes. The entrance to the river has a lot of rocks. Isn't exactly kid friendly. I would have given this place 5 stars but my biggest complaint is the parking is horrible. There is maybe 20 spots. You will have to park on the street or across the street.

We really enjoyed this park! It has a lot of different activities that range in every age group as well as some handicap amenities which I thought was super cool. My child had a blast here as did I.

This is an amazing park! It was built with child security in mind having a single access point to the play area. The play area is phenomenal. State of the art floor system, zip line toys, xylophones, 4 person see-saw, a swing for babies that a parent/sibling can ride with the baby, shade cover and most impressively something I have rarely see but love is the Liberty swing. This is a full mount wheelchair swing. Amazing.

This is an amazing park for all ages and abilities of children. The main feature is a large, wooden play area with several slides, poles to slide down, a pirate ship, and ropes. There is an abundance of swings and such, along with a handicap accessible swing. In fact, much of the park is handicap friendly. There is also a separate but adjacent park for the littles. The park has one entrance, bathrooms, and picnic benches along the perimeter.

Didn't get to see all of the park but the play ground itself was amazing, my older kid, teen niece and my grandbabies had a wonderful and fun time. Will definitely be going back. Loved the swings where the adult can sit in front of the child and they swing together. Also loved the individual age sections.

Great place to take the children amazing to see so many people come together and make sure that this park is always fully functional and it has everything from seesaw to swings and almost everything has a wheelchair accessible door or entrance and swing one of the best playgrounds I have visited 😀.

It is quite nice if you are into tubing, the entrance is free, there are many trees, Sometimes the water in the river is clean, you can raft down small rapids. The playground is excellent. There are too many people on weekends in the summer. Everyone is in the river, it becomes dirty, very noisy, parking is difficult to find, and it is possible to walk far from the car.

Great shaded coverage over some but not all of the playscapes. No splash pad, but there are water features that are refreshing when turned on. The park is separated into 2 areas for little guys (2y-5y) and bigger kids (5y-12y). Awesome playscapes on both structures for climbing, hanging, swinging, and pushing. Big area for running. Very close to the river. Wheelchair accessible. Not a lot of parking though.

This park is so awesome! My children love it and so do I. There is a section for small children 2-5 including joint swings where you may swing with your baby. (so cute!) The other section is big enough for adults to play with their children as well. The theme is pirate/mermaids. There are two zip line swings and several balance walks and monkey bars. Lots of place for hide and seek fun too! Bathrooms and picnic tables make it perfect for staying as long as you like.

Really like this place! Fairly clean considering its ALWAYS in use. I didnt give it 5 stars as some items need to be replaced like the broken xylaphone sticks and the misting system is never used in my experience (its cold weather rigjt now so thats understandable) Lived here for 30 years and never seen the misters working since the park opened.

Very nice playground. Be ready to use parallel parking on the road if you go there at the weekend, as the parking next to the playground is tiny. Four stars because of closed picknic tables. They are quite apart from each other, could be very useful for one household. The restrooms are open though.

My first time there amd i loved it

Nicely planned out, with children areas by age group. Large play structures encourage imagination and play. My granddaughter had a great time there. Really good ride like structures that are a lot of fun.

It's a very large park. The ground is safe and squishy. Not as many people wear masks as they should, but that's not the park's fault. There a lot for kids to do here. But probably not the best place to go people overly cautious about COVID.

My children and I both are extremely satisfied with this park! It is very clean, safe, and fun for kids of all ages. It was remodeled a few years back and was a definite upgrade. It has two different play areas. One designed for younger children and the other for older kids. The part designated for the older kids is pirate themed and the one for the younger kids is a mermaid/under the sea themed. The park has many different attractions, too. It has 2 different types of zip lines, 2 different merry-go-rounds, a teeter totter, 2 swing sets (one swing set has mother/child swings), and the playground itself is awesome! Also, it is right next to the river where children enjoy feeding the fish. All around, a great place for the kids to have fun! I highly recommend this park. Have fun!
