The monument was erected in 1996 in memory of the #victimsofterrorism, especially six civilian workers of the Navy murdered by the terrorist group ETA. The monument consists of two parts, an anchor that belonged to a Navy frigate and a prism-shaped monolith made of granite, both with memorials to the victims.

It's a shame it's so forgotten.

The deceased were Manuel Carrasco Almansa, Santiago Esteban Junquer, José Ramón Intriago Esteban, Florentino López del Castillo, Félix Ramos Bailón and Martín Rosa Valera, who were heading back to their homes after completing their work day. It was one of the bloodiest attacks perpetrated by ETA. It is advisable not to forget.
