Playa Flamingo is our favorite beach in Costa Rica! The pristine stretch of white sand is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy playing in the waves all day until the sunset lights up the sky. You can grab a snack at Coco Loco or there are some mellow beach vendors that will serve you snacks in the sand. The Margaritaville Resort is the main hotel in the area, or you can stay in one of the many Airbnb vacation rentals in the area. The Palms is a high end beachfront rental community, and Villas Flamingo is much more affordable. Perfect place to relax and have a beer to end the day. We caught the sunset here after a day of surfing in Tamarindo. It’s quiet, clean and calm. The sand is soft. There is parking along the road behind the beach so it’s only couple steps to the beach. Check this place out you regret it.

The beaches were fantastic and they were almost empty! Water was warm and parking was right by the beach. We went in the rainy season, but there was no rain during the day, only clear skies.

Cool little beach with whiter sand than other beaches in the area. You can rent a canopy and lounge chairs all day for $20. Nice ladies giving massages for $40/hour. My first ever massage so no idea if that’s a good deal but it was worth it! Decent waves for body/boogie boarding. Not much to see in terms of snorkeling but still fun swimming around.

This is one of the nicest beaches I've ever been to. It's a large beach, and it was mostly empty when we were there, so there was plenty of nearby parking, and lots of space on the beach. The sand is soft, the waves are mild, and the water is comfortable. And the views are unbeatable. I will go again.

For me the best beach i this area.Long beach with nice waves. If You want to swim you have to go little further because of waves. Very weak rip curls although costguard is pushing swimmers towards shallow waters. It is nice that they take care for swimmers but bad swimmers should use playa conchal or bathroom and problem will be solved( lot of beaches in Costarica have red flags without any common sense).

Awesome sand and big waves. Near the resort areas they do morning clean ups! Everyone is very clean and throws trash out. Very eco friendly environment.

A beautiful white sand beach, with breathtaking sunsets. Waves are strong-ish, so enjoy at your own pace. Once you're through the waves, it is just perfect and water is clear. Beach gets busier over the weekend as locals come, but it is perfectly non-crouded, no matter. You can find some massage tables along the beach in the shade and a couple of trinkets stands. Snorkelers saw manta rays, small sharks, and fish in the water.

Super beautiful beach. Not too crowded and fun waves to boogie board. Not sure about the food in the area, but it was super lovely!

After several days investigating beaches from Tamarindo to Danta, Playa Flamingo had us returning repeatedly. White sand, gorgeous, shade … not to mention Coco Loco for dining. 👍🏼

Has trees that provide natural shade on beach while you go to the beach. Not as crowded as Tamarindo. Good for surfing.

Beautiful white sanded beach. Park for free towards the south side of the beach, after you pass all the annoying shade rentals.

Best beach on CR Pacific coach. Waves are a little too intense for our little ones to go into but sand and water are amazing. Great Massages on the beach for $20 per 1/2 hour!

Playa Flamingo is a place I wish we stayed at for at least a day. We only got a night there, but it did not disappoint. The beach was amazing, but we did not experience anything outside of that. It is a place I want to revisit when we fo back.

Top 10 Costa Rica beach, very white sand for Costa Rica. One of the busier beaches on my top 10 list
