First of all I'd like to mention the passion that Mau had for the birds and animals was a breath of fresh air. Otto was our driver and came along to help an elderly lady of our tour group up and down the steep parts. Friendly and helpful. We went to the Hanging Bridges, the lava trail and finally Arenal waterfall. Thank you so much for a wonderful memory for our honeymoon

Had a great day hiking Arenal, our guides were great Jorge, Kevin and Marcus were very friendly and informative. Beautiful views from the hike and I was proud as we are not young lol hot springs and dinner after we’re a fun relaxing way to end trip!

We did the moonshine sunset cruise. Our guide, Santos is such an interesting person full of knowledge and passion for his work. We went out on a rainy day and still got to see some birds and the volcano as well as just learn a whole lot. Due to the weather we didn’t set a sunset but didn’t mind at all as it was just good vibes overall. The pineapple salsa served was on point and the moonshine drink was just as yummy. Being on the lake and getting close to the volcano is just stunning beyond words. We would of kept hanging out with Santos and picking his brain if we could. We would of loved to be on the water all day long. Simply beautiful

Great tour. We went on the volcano hike and the hanging bridges tour. Our tour guide, Samantha, was super knowledgeable, kind and passionate. She made the experience really special and was always trying to make sure we stayed clear of crowds and saw as much as possible. Our driver Alex was also really nice. Fresh fruit after the first tour was a nice touch, really delicious. Highly recommended.

We loved everything about our white water rafting experience! This was the first thing we had planned on our first day in Costa Rica and it was one of our favorite things we did! We unfortunately can’t remember the name of our guide but he was amazing!!! We luckily were the only two people on our boat because we had to change our time slot at the last minute and they accommodated us. We did the tour on 11/29 at noon if that helps with the company knowing who our guide was! He was awesome!

Wonderful experience hiking the Arenal volcano trail with our guide Krystal. She was extremely knowledgeable about the flora and fauna as well as the geologic history of the volcano. Warm, and very accommodating for people of varying hiking ability. They had a nice fresh fruit snack for us after the hike. Highly recommend this company and Krystal.

Went on a tour of the Arenal volcano and our tour guide Kevin was informative, fun, and friendly. It was a great experience and I highly recommend adventuring with Desafio. They also served us fruit after the tour and it was so good! Have a blast a learn some stuff, go with Desafio!

Worth every penny and more. We had a blast doing the zip lining and white water rafting. The tour guides are all so friendly and helpful. And they provided some of the best food I have had in Costa Rica so far.

He gave us fabulous coaching. Made us feel safe and made the experience a great one. Thumbs up. Excellent company. Very very professional. We cannot recommend this company more! We took our 2 boys (8 & 10) white water rafting and had a blast! Aaron, aka Captain Jack Sparrow, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, very engaged in our experience and we felt 100% safe! He went above and beyond to make this adventure one we won’t forget. He even managed to find a poisonous dart frog for my boys to see (one of their goals for our trip). My youngest has requested multiple times to do it again! Not only was Aaron phenomenal, this company is really well run. They truly have thought of everything to make your adventure memorable. Thoroughly impressed!

We had such a great time with Desafio! We booked two tours via an agency with Desafio. Tour 1: Hanging bridges + volcano hike + La Fortuna waterfall Tour 2: Canyoning in the Lost Canyon For the 1st tour, our tour guide Bernie was super professional and knowledgeable. He showed us native trees in Costa Rica and the reason for their formations. He spotted exotic wild animals and made sure we all got a chance to see the animals and understand their habits. During the volcano hike, he gave us a brief history of the Arenal Volcano at the top of the trail. He was truly awesome! For the 2nd tour, we rappelled four waterfalls and walked across the Lost Canyon. We were paired with a number of guides who helped us hook up the harness and supervised the rappelling process. The guides were friendly, professional and funny! We purchased the pictures, which were sent to us via a Dropbox link after 2 days. We had a great time with Desafio. We highly recommend it to everyone seeking an adventure in La Fortuna!

White water rafting in La Fortuna was absolutely incredible. They picked us up from our house and we all drove about an hour or so We met David, our rafter and I could not have asked for a better experience! He is all about making sure we were having fun and really just made the experience so fun! I was looking at the other rafters/groups and none of them even compared to David and what he did for our group If you’re going rafting and want a challenge on the 3-4 level, make sure to use David!! Trust me!

By far the best tour operator in La fortuna! I’ve been on all their canyoning tours, the SUP and white water rafting, cooking class and salsa lesson. The customer service from both reception staff and the local guides is great and friendly! I always felt safe and supported on the tours and we had so much fun! Highly recommended!

Finished the full-day combo tour with time at Mistico Hanging Bridges, the La Fortuna Waterfall, and Arenal Volcano National Park. Our tour guide Samantha was PHENOMENAL! She was a wealth of knowledge and shared her passion for ecology and Costa Rica with our group. The tour itself was excellent; Samantha’s expertise raised the bar to a whole new level. Thank you!

I did the class 4 white water rafting and had an absolute blast! I felt safe the whole time, and really enjoyed how much fun our guide Jef made the experience. We had an air-conditioned shuttle to and from the river, the most delicious fresh fruit snacks mid-way, followed by an amazing lunch at the end that was all included in the price. They have towels for you to use, change rooms, showers, and even take excellent quality photos of your adventure that you can purchase for a reasonable price should you choose. 10/10 recommend adding the white water rafting to your schedule while in Costa Rica.

had 2 excursions with these guys. both times were incredible experiences. first was a day hike including arenal, la fortuna waterfall, and hanging bridges. mauricio was our guide and his expertise and passion for his job was incredible. any question would be met with an often lengthy response. second excursion was rafting which we did with david. the folks here know how to steer the boat and how to work through rapids super professionally. no one fell off! brilliant experience overall. included meals were decent but not spectacular (as expected)

We did the Arenal Combo tour on our 22nd wedding anniversary and we will not forget it. It happened that particular day it was only the two of us and another staff member, Stuart, on this tour. Our tour guide , Jason, was amazing. He was knowledgeable about absolutely everything (my husband had many, many questions). He is fun and has a great sense of humor and did everything he could to make this experience special. We also got extra lucky as Stuart is a photographer and took some great photos of our day. The lunch was a lovely surprise. A great buffet on their property that allowed us to relax a bit between activities. Thank you for an unforgettable day.

Went on the Arenal highlights tour with our guide Mau Mendoza!! I’ll be honest, he totally made the tour. Although the views and sights are incredible, his passion for nature and wildlife was what made this the best tour I’ve ever had. He actively looked for things for us to see, had a very keen eye and because of that, we saw things that nobody would ever catch going on their own! His knowledge of everything Costa Rica was unbelievable. Incredibly friendly and professional! I’d highly recommend him and Desafío Tours if you’re wanting to get a personal experience with small groups to get the very best out of it!!

Canyoning in the lost canyon. This was an excellent activity for the whole family. I have teens, and they really enjoyed it. We were supposed to be with another group but they canceled so it was just our family. It became a private tour, which was awesome. But that was just our luck. The activity itself is fantastic. It’s a nice hike through the forest with several rappelling locations during the hike. Also jumping in a water hole. So prepare to be fully soaked. The guides were excellent and very helpful.

We did the Gravity Falls Waterfalls in the morning and whitewater rafting in the afternoon. VERY well organized. Friendly and knowledgeable guides. Enjoyed the random group we went with. The food was so tasty especially the fruit during the middle of the rafting tour. Highly recommend even though it is expensive.

The best tour guides ever! We booked the mambo combo tour so got to do canyoning and white water rafting in one day! It was an absolute blast! I was slightly afraid of heights so I wasn't sure if I would be able to do the canyoning but it was just exhilarating and not scary at all. White water rafting was so fun as well! We had a younger group so our guide gave us tons of fun challenges to do. The lunch buffet was absolutely delicious too! We would do more tours with them next time we come back! The amazing guides we had: Driver - Adrian, always had dry towels and bags for our wet clothes ready. Always has a friendly smile on his face. Guides - Gustavo, Estaban, Louis, O'Neil, Macho, and Arturo! Best group of people that will make sure that you have fun. The youngest guide was especially friendly and helpful! Photographer - Eric and Manuel, we had the best pictures that captured all the magical moments! Mucho gracias to everyone that we met on the tour!
