I finally got to see the Amazon Statue in Cotonou, and wow it was even more powerful in person. It's such a beautiful tribute to the fierce Dahomey Amazons. You can really feel the pride and strength in the way the statue stands. Definitely worth a visit if you're ever in Benin and the surrounding area is good for pictures I think this particular day it was blocked cause of they had an upcoming independence celebration

Free entrance, clean environment, beautiful place, open 24/7. Toilets are available and there are police officers on ground for maximum security. Ideal for family picnics. I’ll definitely come back.

It is a free attraction site located right on the main road. If you're in Cotonou, you should visit. And not far from it, just about 5 minutes walk is the longest graffiti art. So you can do both together. It's accessible throughout the day and you can take photos. I enjoyed my time there

On my visit to the Amazon statue in Cotonou, I was struck by its impressive stature and the powerful symbolism it embodies. This monument pays homage to the legendary women warriors of the Dahomey Kingdom, known for their bravery and skill in battle. The statue is beautifully crafted, capturing the essence of strength and resilience. Surrounded by lush greenery, it serves as a testament to the vital role women played in Benin’s history and culture. Standing before it, I felt a deep connection to the stories of these remarkable women who defied societal norms and fought fiercely for their people. This site is an inspiring reminder of women’s contributions in history. I left with a renewed appreciation for the cultural heritage of Benin and the empowerment that comes from acknowledging the stories of those who came before us. This visit is a must for anyone looking to understand the rich legacy of the region.

Just a phenomenal job the artist has dine to depict this very large part of Togolese culture. The statue is majestic and stands tall in the heart of the square.

An impressive way to celebrate a distinct group of mighty Amazon women of Dahomey. This is one very dramatic piece of art in Benin. I'd love to go back and explore more along with the legacy of the Amazon women!

It's an amazing statue, close to 35m from the ground. This statue was built about 3 years ago, but it has created massive attractions for tourists to visit Benin. It's strategically located next to the presidents state house in Benin
