AC was not working and the food is really terrible. Not a 4 star hotel at all. Would not recommend it
Not the Experience I Was Hoping For I really wanted to enjoy my stay, but it ended up being more frustrating than relaxing. The rooms smelled damp, and the Internet was basically useless. I switched rooms four times, hoping for better WiFi, but each one was just as bad. By the fourth room, I gave up and just paid for roaming on my home network to get work done. To make things worse, hot water was more of a concept than reality, and there was mould on the ceiling of my last room. Two of my colleagues even developed colds and sore throats, probably from the air quality. The restaurant experience wasn't great either. I get that local meals are part of the culture, and I actually enjoyed the ones I tried, but breakfast was far from intercontinental. Aside from pastries, there were no scrambled eggs, sausages, oatmeal, or other basics you’d expect from a hotel of this standard and amount. When I finally asked for eggs (which you have to order separately), my request got mixed up, and at that point, I just went with whatever was available. One big issue was the language barrier. The food tags had no English descriptions, so non-French-speaking guests had no idea what they were eating. One of my colleagues had already started their meal before discovering it was rabbit stew! A simple translation on the labels would have made a huge difference. If you work remotely, be prepared for internet struggles. I spent most of my time in the reception just to get a stable connection, which is far from ideal. Unless you buy a MiFi from the MTN shop in the lobby or get a local SIM, you'll be stuck without reliable WiFi, which a hotel should definitely provide, especially for international guests. On the bright side, the bellhops were amazing, and they were super patient and helpful during all my room changes. The reception team also were helpful and did their best to resolve some of the issues I raised. Overall, this hotel has a lot of room for improvement, and until they sort these things out, I wouldn't recommend it for business or long stays.
The staff is polite and so much welcoming. The service is great and their kindness is remarquable. They need to work on moisture in the rooms. The linen is a little old and overused. The room I used, the first time had a humidity smell hidden behind very strong perfumes. The second one was good with better smell. And the gym was updated afterwards for customers. The few items to renew will keep the hotel as a great place to spend time in Cotonou 😇
Very helpful staff, accommodating and really went the extra with their service.
I absolutely love staying here for the first time visiting Benin, the staff are amazing and the experience was one of my top experiences
This is my 3rd time staying here in 5 years. I can comfortably recommend this hotel. They are very friendly and accommodating. I also enjoy their breakfast.
So this hotel wasn't my first choice but it's the one my colleague selected. Although some things didn't quite meet expectations (largely just the wifi), I'd still recommend to guests staying for just a night or two. The staff at this hotel are extremely accommodating and kind and welcoming and always greeted me with a smile. Even when I was complaining about an issue, they tried to address it and mixed in some humor and kindness. I appreciated that. The hotel couldn't be better located - just steps from the airport terminal and a few minutes walking from bars/restaurants/shopping center. The rooms were quite large and comfortable, with a/c that worked well to cool the room down. There was also satellite TV and a mini-fridge in the room. Wifi though definitely needs to be improved. It was basically impossible to host our conference and we ended up having to pay extra money for each participant to have their own mobile connection. I will say though even when I had an issue, the staff did try and fix things as best they could. So I give props there. Also, the staff in the restaurant were so funny and nice and yea just overall had really good vibes from hotel staff which for me is really important to feel welcomed.
