πŸ‘πŸ‘ Brother and Sister Cain were phenomenal, thank you so much for the tour and conversation. Well done historical center for not only church history but for United States' history. The mormon pioneers paved the way in so many ways. People often mention tour, history, visit, great, learn, center, kids, time, museum,

Very nice experience. Minor discrepancies in the stories and a little bit of historical inaccuracy, but for the most part it’s pretty cool. Avoided some parts of the history including the Mountain Meadows Massacre, which I believe is a very important part of the history of the Mormon Trail. Also left out conversation about the Utah Wars in general. Our guide, Elder May, was well spoken and a good guide. Cool place.

We stopped by just to see what was available. As of 6/12/21, masks are still required indoors. Lots of displays and interactive exhibits for the kids. The Sister missionary who gave us the tour was fantastic with our kids, helped them find all the hands on stuff, and answered all their questions. They got to try out a handmade odometer, try pulling a handcart, and even picked up felt "cow pies" for fuel crossing the plains. The kids had a blast. Very informative about a hard period of time for those crossing the plains. Lots of artifacts, old photos, and maps/models.

Such a lovely little place to learn history and spiritual things. But even if you just want to look at the history, the missionaries are kind and will help out. They sadly don't do the gingerbread exhibit anymore, (and haven't for years) but they have a great little children’s area!

Historical accounts of how there came to be a Mormon Trail. Don't miss out on the short films after the tour and if it's nice weather do the cemetery tour as well. The volunteers are fantastic and knowledgeable.

There was a special spirit here as history was shared and we learned of hardships and triumphs of those that traveled and settled the frontiers. Those giving tours are very nice and also cautious of our time. There are picnic tables that were shaded and wonderful in the late afternoon. This was a wonderful stop on our road trip.

This museum is a wonderful slice of history. You really get a sense of the hardship those early pioneers undertook during their westward trek. Unbelievably tough and committed individuals. I'd love to meet them. I had no idea the wagon wheels were so large. It was great to see artifacts up close. The replicas of the temples are beautiful. I would visit again.

Special, beautiful, reverent place. (totally realize the pics are of the Temple, not the visitors center) Plus, the Elder senior missionary that helped me thru the tour was wonderful. Very informative and honestly felt like I made a friend for life. Well worth the visit.

The stop over I had while in the area for business was amazing. I got to learn about my own ancestors who had passed through the area in 1866, and later did down and back runs by ox team and wagon to Council Bluffs, IA. I was unaware of this until I compared a story of my ancestors to the events that played out there. I felt a clear connection to their experiences.

Sister Davis took us on a walking tour through the museum! It was super interesting and the three kids I brought (15/11/8) listened the whole time and even asked questions! It was really nice having someone lead us and give us information beyond what the little blurbs say. She was really kind and engaging. It was very enlightening to learn about The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints!

My parents and I visited the Mormon Trail Center in December 2021. We were fortunate enough to receive a private guided tour explaining the history of the Mormon's settling in northern Omaha before continuing west towards Utah. The museum and exhibits were set up in a logical order making it easy for all ages to understand the history. The museum is very well kept and located on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River flood plains. Definitely a worthwhile place to visit if you have time during your visit to Omaha.

Wonderful visit & free guided tour to learn of the history of the people that first settled here and their struggles and challenges to migrate West. It took so much faith and perseverance.

Very informative and cool. Great people taking you through and sharing info. If you have 10min (that's all the time I had) or 2 hours, it is great. So much to learn.

Such a unique place to visit. There's so much history here and it's so unique to see everything. The grounds are beautiful and had lots of beautiful flowers. We enjoyed walking the grounds and also around the cemetery and reading the plaques and learning different things about the people buried there. We took a tour of the visitor center and we had 2 guides and they both did a fabulous job. We learned so much.

Beautiful location. Had a nice presentation of the history and motivation of the Latter-day Saints who sheltered here in preparation to migrate to the great basin.

Such knowledgeable volunteer staff, beautiful grounds and fabulous interactive historical displays. They catered our tour to our personal time allowance and questions, and the technology that connected me to my specific and individual ancestors that lived and died here made our visit an incredible experience!!

Visiting from California with our four young boys and we really loved our visit to the trail center! The museum tells the story of the pioneers’ migration from Illinois to Utah in the mid 1800s, with interactive exhibits, artifacts, videos, a life-size cabin and wagon, toys for wiggly kids to enjoy and more. We opted for a thorough tour that lasted an hour. And wish we could have stayed longer. It’s all free and the guides are so friendly and knowledgeable. This would be a great place for a school or scout field trip. What an inspiring story from history to teach your kids - highly recommend!

My wife and I were on our way to visit Nauvoo. We decided to stop by the Winters Quarter's visitors center. We are glad we did! The Church has done an amazing job with the site. The missionaries are helpful and even gave us a personal tour of the visitors center. There are lots of cool things to see. I learned a lot about the history of Winters Quarters. One of the sister missionaries came to the cemetary across the street with us. She helped us locate the places where 2 of my wife's relatives were buried. The cemetary on the hill is right next to the Winters Quarter's Temple. I highly recommend visiting. It is one my favorite Church History sites we've visited.

This is a reverent place to learn about the journey made by the early pioneers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. Here, you will learn about their lifestyles and experiences on the journey. Very enlightening, especially for learning about American history. Love this place, and the missionary tour guides are very friendly and informative. The bathroom is also clean and the water tastes great :)

πŸ‘ One of the few upscale areas of downtown Omaha. It's a very enjoyable place for lunch time walk or to grab a bite to eat from one of the area restaurants. A friend is going to fly his drone through the 10 foot wide gap between these tall skyscapers. Check my YouTube channel to view the video.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Nice place to come down to and see one historical part of Omaha. There is a parking lot right by the South Omaha trail that you can park in to the right of the silos. The entrance is extremely bumpy though so be careful in a car. There are some cool murals at the base of the silos that make for a go...
