Nice food, chatty owner. Nice and warm area inside to eat.

Found this place by chance, and even though we were there on a busy Saturday lunch time they still managed to cater to us all. We were a group of 5 so our orders were huge so, something was hit and miss but they were quick to rectify. The outdoor seating was lovely on a clear sunny day, just the crows and seagulls trying to fetch the leftovers scared us a little. Otherwise food was great as was the location and the history around it. Definitely recommend.

Lovely, freshly made food. Big portion of food. We ordered soup and main but we couldn't finish it. Staff very friendly and chatty. Nice atmosphere to have lunch.

We’ve been coming here since when we moved our house down here from Dublin. We are big fan of seafood pie , beef lasanagna .. good breakfast too .. all the best .

Definitely go here for breakfast as opposed to lunch in my opinion. Their breakfast is delicious. Very accommodating with additions to meals, I ordered the mini breakfast and asked for white pudding on the side. The white pudding is so good, highly recommend. They have a veggie option and kids options too. Coffee is good and pots of tea are ample. The stove is nearly always lit as it can be quite cold in such an old building but the stove adds heat and atmosphere.

We were here for breakfast on Tuesday, group of five, and it was lovely. They even have a syn-free breakfast option which was delicious! Highly recommended 👍

Food was nice. Coffee was bad. Service was bit on a slow side. It's in the Jail, literally.

Interesting atmosphere, right next to the gaol, excellent food and very friendly staff. We had a seafood pie and pasta, both were great, and it was no problem to find a place with our pram.

We went here because of the positive reviews but our experience wasn't that great. Lack of anticipation from the staff here. I waited more than 20 minutes for the menu. It wasn't that busy when me and my partner came here for lunch after the tour in Wicklow Gaol. We decided to sit outside because it was a good weather that day. The staff who's clearing the table beside us didn't bother to ask if we have ordered when we were seated there for a while now. It felt like we're not existing while she was cleaning beside our table. They only focus on the inside sit in. My partner decided to go inside for the menu. We finally ordered after more than half an hour waiting. I didn't order because I was too upset and I already lost my appetite. We ended up having my partner's food to takeaway. No bag and cutleries provided when takeaway food was given to us. We even asked to put it in a bag. Staff needs some training.

Went here with my coeliac cousin. Always go here no problem and nothing ever happens. Usually good service. This time however after we specified (like always) we needed a gluten free option for her which is never ever a problem, and seemed not to be a problem, she got non gluten free crepes. It would have been fine if the waitress told us there was no gluten free flour available, however she didn’t and served my cousin the crepes without saying anything. My cousin, of course, was sick for a few days due to this.

Tried this place on a short visit to Wicklow recently. Very average food and service. It's probably a good spot for country vibes but not meant for someone who would be looking for a very appealing and tasty brunch.
