A neat stop, particularly for parents with kids under the age of 10. It's a free museum and offers a free planetary show in their planetarium. The planetary show was slightly underwhelming for adults. There's a small natural history museum as well.

We love Rock Creek park! Whether on a quiet trail, spotting owls, deer, or raccoons, sit and reflect by one of the many small enclaves by the rushing water, drop by the zoo or nature center, or jog/walk along a more bustling part of the path. The park is one of our favorite places to take the family or get in some alone time.

Nice little park with sufficient parking and a fun little planetarium and visiting center as well. Looks like a great place to bring family and kids and getting a good walk.

Amazing nerve center for an amazing park. This place features a small nature center, a planetarium, a kids reading/activity room, a small shop for souvenirs, great water fountains, and clean bathrooms! Check out the website for tours that start from here. This place is really good about putting those out on a placard out front of the building as well. Great staff - Great Place!

I was excited to learn they finally opened the planetarium, but disappointed to learn they ran out of first come first serve free tickets in 5 minutes after opening up 30 minutes before showing. Don't bother coming if you're not there on line 30 min ahead of a show because it will be sold out. Also, what's the excuse for just one planetarium showing per day?

Love this place - the nature and serenity around it. Not a lot of people usually so really brings you out from the bustling city noise and rush. It also has a nice river or similar passing by so very calm to just sit there and relax. Highly recommended for a getaway or for a quick run or just for the sake of nature

Great nature center. Lots of exhibits with information on local flora and fauna. The planetarium show was also good. Learned about the current night sky, how to spot certain constellations and heard fascination stories from multiple cultures. Make sure to get a free ticket before getting in line. Nice smaller gift shop and a kids area for littles. Most importantly, many hiking trails all around.

I arrived at the park beautiful scenery I was excited to go inside and experience this since I was from another state across the country. As we drove in we parked and the guy in front said it will take about 45 minute to see a bridge and some nice scenery and as we started we were happy walked saw the creek and had a good time then we were trying to go back we realized there was an extreme lack of signs to lead people in the right direction and got completely lost I tried to keep the situation calm and get back to the nature center where my car was parked the reception to call them horrendous and when we finally did get to call them they were as lost as us I had to go around many trails and spend multiple hours consequently missing my flight back to my state, this was horrible and if your going here for the first time be very careful to retrace your steps and not get confused by the twist and turns all around you

Great place for a nature walk. The cicadas were loud and delightful, and with the heat they gave the place a rainforest feel. We also saw wrens and frogs!

Natural Rock Creek park, Along the small river has a road and a trail to walk along the shore! Beautiful, romantic, very convenient for hiking right off 16th street Nw.

So the nature center and planetarium--whatever. It has a drinking fountain, a restroom, some exhibits that will help you learn about the flora and fauna of the park if you're into that kind of thing. The actual park is amazing. Miles and miles of very good trail, and plenty of places to feel like you're actually in the woods, without ever having to step outside of the city. Gorgeous picnic spaces where you can host a campfire picnic for free. If you live in DC and you like to hike or trail run, this is *not* to be missed.

This places has wonderful trails in the city! I was so impressed with the location and the rangers. It was a great stop after the zoo to pick up another jr Ranger badge for our son. The nature center had lots of great information about the area.

Planetarium talk was well done and nature center exhibits were very professionally staged.

Pretty decent nature exhibit and lovely trails along the creek. Enjoyed the turtle time with a park ranger. Plan to go back for the planetarium.

One of the best nature centers I've seen. It's like a beautiful spot from Shenandoah was plucked and placed in the city for DC to experience and enjoy.

I love learning about the wild life but I want the Plaetarium to be open again.
