Great local pub for eats and drinks. Their menu has a wide range of food, including a good choice of vegetarian and vegan meals. There is also a good choice of beers available to suit all tastes. Tell you what, if you like Rosé wine, try their Brightside White Zinfandel, it's gorgeous There are quite a few tables here but it would be wise to book up if you intend to try this pub for a meal. It is popular and it gets busy. By the way, you need to know this . . . the prices are VERY reasonable! The staff at The Penny Farthing are thoughtful, kind and very considerate. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. A group of five of us had a meal there again the other day, we often go there, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time together at lovely traditional pub, The Penny Farthing.

Lovely atmosphere, and friendly staff. The food was fine, but pretty standard for pub food. Burger could've been a bit more juicy and needed a tad more burger sauce. The cauliflower wings were great though! We also tried the pizza which was amazingly fresh and tasty for a pub.

Wow guys really great job Came here for lunch With the family Lots of things for the kids to do. There is a small park outside and a play area inside too. Friendly staff which always helps and the guy who was working got a high chair for us. Really nice I’d say 1/20 places do that for us. But I really appreciate it! The food was ready in about 10 mins. Probs the fastest pub service I’ve ever had. Wasn’t massive portions but deffo quality over quantity. The food was very tasty and fresh. Kids ate well so that’s another good sign of good food Really nice place and great food Would deffo come here again. Top marks guys. Keep this up !!

Came here for my Dads birthday lunch. Ordered and booked a table and greeted and shown to a table of our choice (with window seats as well). Food and drinks were delicious, plus were ordered and received in a swift and friendly manner. Went there today as always on a Monday and had sirloin steak for main. It was delicious, beautifully cooked exactly how I asked for it - melted in the mouth. Curtis the chef there is brilliant always cooks to perfection. We go there regularly and all the staff there are great especially Ian, Debs and Callum make you feel very welcome and always make our time there very enjoyable. Look forward very much to our next visit

Food was okay but we added Cauliflower cheese to the Sunday and was told we couldn't even though it let us pay on the app for it. Food was hot when it came and tasted good. Started were good too. We have 2 ultimate chicken burgers and a normal chicken burger and all we're cooked well and tasted good.

Not been here before but my lad and I fancied something different to our usual. Made a reservation online, which was quick and easy with confirmation received via email and text. Table booked for 12noon today and we were one of the first there. Shown to our table and as it wasn't busy yet we were able to get our food and drink order in first. The meals arrived promptly and looked appetising. The staff waited until we had nearly finished before checking if all was OK, which is good in my opinion, and the food tasted as good as it looked. My lad had the classic chicken burger and a side of onion rings whilst I opted for Hunters Chicken. With 2 large cokes it came to a little over £27. I feel this is great value for the food and service we received. Will definitely visit again.

Absolutely fantastic. We had my nans 90th birthday. There was 21 of us! All staff were fantastic. Food was great. Didn't have to wait long in-between course's. Definitely be back

OUR CHRISTMAS DAY DINNER WAS FANTASTIC... Food was superb... There was 7 of us and we all said what great food we had.. And we all had different. Prawn cocktails were lovely.. All Dinners were lovely... And our deserts as well.. Service was brilliant, very friendly and efficient and attentive.. We cannot fault any of our Xmas day meal or time there... Thank you penny farthing for a great day... And we'll be back again next Christmas

My mum and dad visit the Penny Farthing every Friday and they rave about their experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and always look after them. The food is great and they highly recommend this place. They are all booked in for Christmas lunch. Thank you to the staff and the Manager for making them feel so welcome.

Just been in with 14 friends and neibours for the Christmas menu and wow, what a meal. Good portion size and service was perfect. We will all be coming back soon. Thanks to the staff they were a very helpful.

Found this place on a holiday to a local hotel. The staff are amazing with a smile and lovely warm welcome. Food is fantastic, reasonable, hot and well served. I was so impressed I returned two nights on the trot for evening meal. On the last visit I asked for manager and told him what an amazing well ran and warm and friendly pub he was running. Wish I could move them all to my home town as my local. Thank you everyone you are all amazing stars. 😁😄

Lovely local pub. Pub is dog friendly and they also provide personal water bowl for them. Our food was very tasty, especially burger. 😋

It was the first time in 2 year I was able to get my family together, all of us had a fantastic time at the penny farthing. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was delicious. Thank you all we will be back soon

My partner ordered the mixed grill well done. When he started eating it he found it dry and tough. The gammon was salty also tough. The chips on both our orders tasted greasy and possibly re-fried along with onion rings. We also ordered a sunday lunch to take out and that came out in a small box. I would have served that as a child size. For the money spent there it was disappointing. I won't be rushing back. Regards Karen Johnson

We have come for a weekend away we ate for lunch on Friday on are way to a log cabin, it was that good we decided to come back for my partner's birthday on the Sunday. Staff both times were exceptionally friendly and helpful, food was amazing both times especially the mixed grill cooked to perfection. Our son enjoyed his meal and the play areas. It's just a shame we don't live closer to visit again but if we're ever in the area we be sure to come back. Thank you 👏☺️

It was my first visit to the pub on a Sunday. I took my Mum for Sunday lunch. We both ordered the beef with all the trimmings. The food was nicely cooked and delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely go again on a Sunday.

Everything I’d expect from a family friendly pub. The food was well cooked and presented and the serving staff were polite and efficient though I would describe the food service s ‘relaxed’ with plates being passed across the table between diners, rather than being presented from behind each individual. The bar staff were polite, friendly and efficient. My visit was prompted having received a voucher but I will certainly visit again based on my experience yesterday.

Friendly atmosphere with ample parking. Option to sit inside or outside. Option to pay at the bar or on an app. Speedy service with a smile. Good options for vegetarians and responsible messaging around intolerances on the app. The food was tasty - the nicest non-chip shop chips I’ve had in a while. Thank you.

Best pub ever. Food is great the environment is great with or without kids. Whenever I want a meal out with friends or family this is where I choose. It's amazing, friendly fantastically priced and just relaxing. Will be coming back

Ian and his team were fantastic, 17 of us went for my Dad's 80th birthday meal and it was lovely from start to finish. The seating was arranged for us, the meals all came out together and were delicious too. Everyone was very attentive but special thanks to Ian.

Staff and manager when out their way to ensure we have enough seating after we arrived with more than we booked. Really friendly and all made us feep welcome. Not often you see such brilliant service. 10/10

Absolutely brilliant food, great service, was able to swap seats because the staff was amazing with support and let us move when my partner got anxious. Service was outstanding. Will definitely be going again very soon. 10/10

The staff were very helpful upon booking as we were booking for a large number of people and as we had young children with us they placed us in an area with plenty of shading as it was very hot that day and next to the playground which was very accommodating. The service whilst we were there was very quick and friendly and the facilities very clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend.

We booked a table for 1.15, got there early, no problem, also was able to take dogs in with us which was great. Friendly polite staff, the problem started at the ordering, we are vegans and ordered cauliflower wings, tasty, nachos with lentil chilly, was brought just nachos no lentil chilli then the correct one was brought so had 2 .... ordered 2 vegan curry but was brought the lentil chilly. we ate what we had but queried this at the bar on leaving, no one seemed to take responsibility for the mix up. the girl that took the order at the bar didn't seem to know what was what so maybe a little more training on the ordering . In hind sight we should have ordered at the table via our phone but not everyone can do that.

I was very happy with the organisation on Sunday . 24 family members booked for various meals and to be honest couldn't have asked for better service. Sorted area of tables, meals brought out as close as could be so we were eating together, all meals were perfect, no problems at all. Would like to say thanks to manager and all staff . the whole staff

We had good food, I think if you are going to eat here, afternoons are the best as I have been before in the evening and the food wasn't so good but today had a great meal of scampi with chips and mushy peas x as always happy smiling lady served I didn't catch her name but she is always there so friendly and delivers excellent customer service 😀

Feel our food would have been better if we wasn't waiting for chips as we could hear waitress saying food was ready but waiting for chips So hot side salad and a really crusty roll on burger made it bit unpleasant Good size kids meal Partner said her pie was best she had ever had in a pub

Have been for meals many times and always had good food, well cooked, nicely presented The staff are friendly and the service is good. We went for Christmas lunch and it was excellent. I think it's good value for money.

My local pub, such a good family friendly place with live tv but doesn’t feel forced on you if you aren’t watching. Good is always great with good portion sizes for the prices. Staff always polite, enjoyed our visit as always. Be back soon!

Booking was easy and straight forward. Friendly, helpful staff. Food was delicious and we weren’t waiting long after ordering for it to come out. Lovely pleasant atmosphere, all round great meal out with the family at a lovely friendly pub ☺️

Ordered 2 coffee part way through a walk. Friendly welcoming staff, clean, loos smelled nice, were clean and liked the lights round the mirrors. Only negative was that the 2 ladies loo door was not lockable. Good job I wasn't desperate! Reported to staff who I later found out was the manager, who said after inspection, that the door had dropped and get would get it fixed. Let's hope so....I'll be checking. 😉

Food is great again!! Really nice pub, good selection of food and ales. They do good pizza 🍕 in their own pizza oven and tasty ice cream. Good vegan food too - nice vegan pie!!

Ian, Chris and the team always make us most welcome. The service is first class and we enjoy the food and there's plenty of choice on the menu which keeps us returning week after week.

Staff are always friendly and remember you. The pub was and is always very clean, I’ve been to other local pubs and the overall cleanliness puts me off wanting to eat there - everything is always sticky. The Penny could teach them a lot! The food was lovely last night, everything was fresh and tasty.

I was undecided @ lunch, then saw the steak offer😋. I had an excellently cooked rump+chips, tomato, peas and field shroom. And they sell some proper ales, fair play. First time i have been in, if as nice next visit then 5 stars👍

We have been visiting the Penny Farthing since it opened, it’s had its ups and downs depending on the manager but the current manager and his team are doing a great job. The food is always very good and the gluten free menu is really important to one of the family so makes us choose there over other places. The service is always good, food comes out well cooked and without a wait, even when it’s busy, the pub pulls a good pint too! Could just do with a bit more music, although may not be possible considering the locality to houses. Great job Penny Farthing!

We all enjoyed our meals. Two of our party booked the festive menu but there were no Christmas crackers or festive napkins which would have been nice for them. Some of the menu front covers were dirty and tables need a refresh - maybe a revarnish. We all had a nice time and the staff were lovely.

Fantastic staff especially Matt, Josh, Callum and Ewan nothing is too much. Very customer focused polite and go the extra mile Fantastic friendly local. Josh works very hard keeping the tables cleared clean and tidy.
