In this Coventry pub, we arrivd for 3 games of pool with my friend, really to catch up and spend some time together. Didn't matter if we were both rubbish, it's more about the conversion. My partner had joined us for lunch so we then sat on other side to eat. Sandwiches with chips, and more coffee. The place was clean, no dust anywhere. Chicken and cheese with chips was plenty. Came back on a summers evening for a meal. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL.

Lovely visit Saturday. Nice pub with great selection of beers and wines, tasty and fresh food, served within 15-20 minutes after ordering. Both bar and table service is spot on, empty glasses taken of table right away, no waiting time at the bar. Really impressed with service and atmosphere. Will definitely come back soon.

Nice meal. The Atmosphere was lovely. The only staff I dealt with was the young girl grace who served us. Lovely happy girl. Couldn't fault her

ALWAYS really good food, lovely cosy friendly environment and lovely environment for children which is hard to find. Community/local feel but very welcoming to new comers. Zero tolerance on drugs or inappropriate behaviour. My daughter especially loves the lovely outdoor facilities with a play area and nice clean kept garden and most importantly enclosed with an open feel. I love that it is so local. They have an excellent bar team and management. Cannot praise enough. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Went for a meal here. The staff we're very helpful, but our food was cold and had to be returned for them to heat it up again. We won't be going back in a hurry .

Great place for new year catch up with a friend. Great lighter options, which helped me calorie count as part of my New Year’s resolution, also quit smoking and a nice lady filled my iced water sippy cup I’ve been using to help me do it

The Sunday lunch (roast turkey ) was amazing especially the roast potatoes I could have had more of them The chicken burger ordered was a bit dry The roast beef dinner was lovely Did take a while to receive a sundae ordered but manager did apologize for the long wait and explained the error that had been made Only bad points which were rectified were having to change a glass due to lipstick on the rim and asking for cranberry sauce when it didn't come out with my food Will definitely come back to this pub again

Must say it's a pleasure drinking and eating in this pub also its a great place for me and the work lads to com for our daily drink after work and I can't knock all the staff and the managers are great.

Came here with my friends on a Saturday night with my friends, they had entertainment on which was great. Staff were really friendly and helpful! Pub was lovely and clean. Overall had a lovely evening with friends, will be back!!

Great family friendly pub, with an outdoor play area. We find the food is good quality and reasonably priced. The bar staff are always friendly and the pub has a great atmosphere. LIve music entertainment some nights. Recommend a visit as we've never been disappointed with the service.

Some really nice locals here. Great conversation with an elderly guy called Anthony. Look him up. Nice IPA behind bar in Fridge called shipyard. If in area again, will definitely pop back in.

ordered two curries, they arrived promptly, but obviously either over cooked or left under heat lamps way to long the sauce was dry. when we expressed our dismay the server took the food away and returned with the same food saying " its how it should be, there's nothing wrong and nothing we can do". I asked to see the manager, they didn't come to us but the meals were replaced. Still missing items, but cooked as it should be. we used to use this venue alot, not sure we would bother again.

Nice place, clean and tidy, staff were pleasant. Beer was good. Nice beer patio at the front of the premises. Bit if a sun trap. Had to sample another beer to make sure. I enjoyed my visit.

This pub is warm welcoming spotlessly clean Service is great staff and kind friendly and knowledgeable about the range of food and drink It’s our go too for food and drink with freinds and family

I'm afraid this place is in desperate need of a deep clean, toilets were filthy and the fixed seating needs recovery. The table we sat on felt sticky, the lunch looked tired. The deserts we had to send back, although we did get a refund for our desserts, it's not the standard you'd expect from a Marstons, and where did you get the chef from ☹️

Bar staff was amazing, atmosphere was fantastic the moment we walked in our party felt welcomed. Food was delicious. My 14 year old and his friends got to play darts and pool all day plus watch the football and ruby. Will definitely recommend and will be back soon

Covid compliant. Orders via the app or tablet service. Friendly staff. Good food. Typical local pub atmosphere. Kids play area at the back and ample parking.

Staff are friendly but the food was really poor. One meal was completely inedible and the other meal made me sick. Waiting for my refunds to come through where staff had made a mistake / food was sent back. Would go for a drink but I suggest you avoid eating here.

Little gem that made our first experience of Coventry all the better after a shocking experience at the Royal Court. Would 100% recommend the old shepherd for both food and drink, the staff were amazing, food quality fabulous and prices very reasonable

My wife had eaten at the old shepherd and on that occasion the food at lu time wat very good. sadly today our food was poor to say the least chicken over cook and the veg had a bad taste to it. Staff told of our disappointment.

Lovely food. "Pub grub prices". Lovely pub. And a pint of Carling is less than £3! And I cannot resist a £2 pudding with lunch meal !!

Just had a great meal and drinks served by becky and Thomas. Compliments to the chef, first time having the pizzas and definitely won't be the last. Even had enough to take home and enjoy later. The Shepherd is our local and can honestly say we have always been comfortable and enjoyed the time we spend there.

Food and atmosphere very good. Very pleasant staff. We love it, we come every week, sometimes twice a week. We always come with the kids in the summer, excellent beer garden, nice and clean.

Good place to watch the footy. Big pub. The food was nice but were missing some bits off of the meals unfortunately.

Good pub, staff friendly and prices not too expensive. Large play area for kids and 2 pool tables. The Cowboy burger is nice however I don't know if that is still on. Busy on a Saturday night sometimes with music on. Would recommend 👍

Regularly eat at The Old Shepard; consistently good food for a great price. Always recieve excellent service from staff. The assistant manager, Charlotte, is very accommodating. She has a lovely rapport with regular customers and is very efficient. Great value for money and a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Great food, great light bite options, good portion size. A lovely lady refilled my Sippy cup with water and ice that I had been using to quit smoking before I left. Lady we spoke to said they were under new management, certainly seems a nicer vibe and better service than when we last came.

Booking recognised immediately; offered a selected table but happy with own choice; prompt service - given that food was freshly cooked. Well done
