We love The Millpool! Reservations is Definitely a must (at least on weekends) as they are booked solid. Food is very good, service is fast and friendly. There are 3 different areas to dine in not including the private party area which is another large room. We celebrated a "quiet" birthday with starters, burgers, and wine! They brought out a piece of Ultimate Chocolate cake with a lit candle which was a delight! I highly recommend The Millpool!

I’m not local, was driving past and it looked good and busy so turned around. Lovely pub!! Wide range of draft beers, usual suspects and many from different parts of the world. Strong classic pub menu with Good food offers. Had slow roasted belly pork from the chefs specials it was Superb!! Slab of pork with crunchy crackling, creamy mash, tenderstem broccoli, a stick of cracking and a good lashing of gravy. It really did taste as good as it looks.

Came here on a working lunch with about 10 of my work colleagues Place was busy but not rammed We ordered our food and was ready when we got there Tasty food and portions for the price Everyone was happy with their food and nothing was cold or uncooked Starters. Mains. Deserts all great food Would deffo come here again. Even the owner came over and had a chat Keep up the good work and service

Staff very polite and friendly atmosphere welcoming traditional with a modern Twist decent wait time for food. Cannot comment on any other food as I've only had this rump steak. Steak was a little overdone I asked for medium rare it did get Pinker further down the stake as it was a bit thicker also lacked seasoning. Chips were just standard chunky chips quite Pleasant on your rings were nice and crispy mushroom good

Utterly stunning food, fantastic service, the place was spotless and had a lovely pub atmosphere. This is the second fantastic meal I've had here.

Site was busy and noisy for Thursday lunch. Food was conveyor belt produce and the scampi was dry but the chips were nice and fresh. Overall only a satisfactory experience. Will not return. Off to the Old Mill at Bagington, more expensive but well worth the extra.

First time visiting with a friend from London, was recommended by a friend & also great reviews on Google too. Arrived without reservation, and whilst they were fully booked, the manager was amazing and managed to accommodate us in an alternative way and this made our day (hence why I’m leaving a review). The Sunday roast was amazing. Really filling and delicious. No complaints.

Great pub with delicious food and tasty cocktails. I was there with my best friend to celebrate my birthday. Music was great, atmosphere nice. I will definitely come back there for a meal as I saw plenty of served meals during my stay there - they looked amazing.

Excellent food and excellent prices. This is a brilliant place to eat, we all had main meals and deserts and with drinks cost approx £65. The staff were so relaxed and made us feel at ease. With 3 children as well ! This pub has come a long way from previous ownership when it was quite run down and a drinkers pub. The interior is classic, well decorated with modern furnishings and the toilets were spotless. I literally couldn't fault this place.

Had a private room at the Millpool last night, can't thank them enough. So well organised room was fantastic. Food and service was amazing. Couldn't fault them at all. Great choice on the menu for food and drinks.Would highly recommend to anyone looking. We had pre ordered starters and mains for 32 people and it was all spot on. Piping hot food very generous portions. Friendly helpful staff.

Met friends for an evening meal. So glad we booked ahead as the place was really busy. The service was efficient and we didn't have to wait too long before the food arrived after placing our order. Drinks could also be ordered at the table too. Menu choices were extensive and what you would expect from a pub. The food itself was good and arrived hot, so hadn't been sitting around on the hotplate for long. Only downside for us was that we kept having to move our chairs to allow a party to enter a side/function room as the tables were too close together for them to get past. Would I return? Definitely and would recommend the Millpool for a visit if asked.

Had a baby shower yesterday with 15 guests and the whole team were very helpful. We were able to decorate the room fully and the buffet food was plentiful, delicious and on time. We had a lovely afternoon, fantastic service and at a fantastic price. Thanks John and team for a perfect event.

Best fish n chips in town. Met a fella named rich Turner, nicest guy, gave us Americans lots of history about the area and the pub. Be sure to buy him a pint. Definitely family friendly

Six of us went celebrating an 85th Birthday. Staff were all friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. Whole party enjoyed their food. I personally had the steak and Stilton pie which was really tender and super tasty. We will be back 🥳

Very, very busy which was good. Background ‘music’ unnecessary as there was lots of happy chatter. Having had fish and chips there many times,( as they are surely the best in the city,) I thought I would try the Roast Salmon. A bit disappointing as the fish was bland. Fortunately the sauce it was served with, was very tasty and made the meal palatable. Great staff.

9 of us came for Sunday dinner which was absolutely lovely, 4 of our party were children & each enjoyed there’s including a delicious pudding! Great atmosphere very warm & welcoming. Highly recommend

Had a meeting of nine people at the Millpool, the meeting was held in a quiet room so that the door could be closed to the rest of the people. The service was very good by all staff. The menu was also very good packed with excellent tasty dishes. We all had the two course meal for £7.99 most gad starter and main. Only downside for couple of us was the chips could have been a bit more tastier.

Brilliant service. Asked for fish & chips. They only had very small fish so the chef asked if we would like some scampi as well . Beautiful meal. Young man on duty couldn't have done more to us satisfied. Well worth the trip. Thank you

Ordered the halloumi wrap online and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked and arrived piping hot. Chips were delicious also. Will definitely order again. Thank you ☺️

Discussed, bought my family here tonight at 7.30 only managed 2 get main meal & 2 rounds of drinks! Total ignored, really disappointed as I am returning to Spain next week. Different won't recommend anyone else to eat hear!!!

As a guest of a party, I was very disappointed with the manager on shift. He was very rude infront of us, which was unacceptable and uncomfortable to be around. Lack of communication was obvious between the manager and the staff. Leaving us feeling rushed and unable to fully enjoy the time we did have. Other then that the waiters were very polite and friendly and the food was lovely. Unsure if I would visit again, but I would definitely not book a room for a party here.

Our waitress was amazing! Looked after us all night, few issues with two of our meals but she resolved them with no fuss and got us back in the party mood 🥂🎄

A very good Xmas meal and good service. We were a party of 11 and all courses served at a nice pace - not rushed or too slow.

Generally, I'd give the Millpool at least a 4 but on this occasion the food wasn't as good as the last time I visited. Their "pie" had changed since last time to be a bowl of filling - which was very tasty - with a large pillow of flaky pastry plonked on top. It looked like an airbag had gone off. I won't argue the definition of a pie, suffice to say I like a pastry base. The pastry was a bit dry and tasteless. It came with chips, which were slightly undercooked, peas which were lovely and gravy. The other 5 in our group all enjoyed their meals though so maybe I was unlucky. The staff were prompt and friendly which is always a big plus. I'd definitely go back but for something other than pie. Perhaps they're just a bit of a victim of their success as it was quite busy the whole time we were there.

Had a couple of good meals here, popped in on the off chance and service and food was excellent, a very warm atmosphere too…Well worth a visit.

We hired one of the private rooms for a baby shower. Room looked amazing, food was great and staff were excellent and looked after us throughout the day, making sure we had everything we needed at all times. Would highly recommend.

Generally enjoy this place and the owner is out going and definitely cares about his customers but today we ordered a chicken curry that was definitely reheated and was dry with little sauce and not enjoyable. We ordered two roast dinners that had roast potatoes that were inedible due to being rock hard and the turkey in our opinion was reheated as it was tough, dry and tasteless. For desert we had cheese cake that was stale and obviously on its last legs. I hate leaving a bad review but at the end of the day the establishment didn't mind serving us the food and charging us top prices in the area.I Think its the last time for our Sundays as it never seems to be the same quality two weeks in a row. In this economic climate you need to stay focused on quality as customers want to spend there money on quality which this was not. SORRY!!

Food was fantastic. A group of us (over 20) arrived at once and all got our meals at the same time with no issues. Staff were brilliant, even though they were very busy.

Fabulous pub for a fun family meal. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful with our fussy daughter (wanted a bowl of rice). Clean and lovely food the chilli even gives you a kick !

We had a private room for a 21st family meal. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, I was a bit disappointed that they didn't serve non alcoholic cocktails as I would have liked to have put some jugs on the tables. We would definitely book again. Great food, all 18 of us had our meals at the same time.
