This public house ticks all the boxes. Six of us went in for a meal today and it was a lovely experience. Three real fires set the atmosphere for a pleasant couple of hours. The staff were helpful and friendly. The meals were well presented and very reasonably priced. Tables well spaced and a pleasantly designed interior added to making The Open Arms right for us. Parking is good And there is easy access for those who are less mobile. This pub is highly recommended, but book up if you want to give it a try because it is popular! Oh, by the way, they also have a Vegan menu.

Nice traditional-feeling pub with good food and good service. Prices are on the higher side for some things, but it's not a rip-off, and you get an atmosphere you won't find in a typical Wetherspoons in return.

We have been visiting The Open Arms much more recently because the menu, particularly that for vegetarians and vegans has improved markedly. Thank you for that! However, this evening, being warm and pleasant seemed just right for eating in the pub garden. Unfortunately, even though we had booked a table and one or two tables were free outside, it was impossible to get away from tobacco smoke, even in the one designated non-smoking table. This is very difficult for non-smokers. There is a large covered area of tables for smokers in the winter time, that also gets heated. Good! That's where smoking ought to be kept to. However, this evening , all but the one outside table had ashtrays, indicating that every one of those tables was a smoking table. We were forced to sit inside. This is a matter of principle. Smoking kills and so does second-hand tobacco smoke outside. Those of us who value our health have had a freedom taken away from us. The Open Arms and Ember Inns need to review their policy on this issue.

The Bar & All staff were great. It's was the first time I order food there. The Pub it self was very nice inside & Garden area. Me & family members order A Mixed Grill All 3 off us. With the Hot weather we be having they was A notice near Bar. They may take time for the food to Arrive. It was lovely it was worth the wait (5☆).

Been a long time since I popped in here. Excellent friendly service and the food was lovely,very fresh and a great meal deal during the day.

My friends and I decided to have a little pub lunch. It's my first visit, but it's one of my friend's regular pub. The staff were lovely, the food was nice and quite generous. I would definitely go again.

With much expectation we went to The Open Arms, placed an order for Steak, Chicken, and Cocktails. Steak and Chicken were over cooked and hard. The prices were equivalent to any good restaurant. Service was good and staff were courteous and helpful. I would recommend the management to improve the quality of food.

Thank you to the friendly staff who assisted and made us feel welcome 🤗 One of the best menus I’ve come across with an impressive selection of vegan/vegetarian options for Starters, Mains, Sides and Desert all on a dedicated menu. I was spoiled for choice quite honestly. We were sat in a cosy spot by the fire for lunch with a few friends and were able to spread out a bit and relax. Good access at the front with disabled parking and pleasant terrace to the rear.

Did us proud for my Mum's 70th. Buffet, staff and atmosphere excellent. I remember this pub was on the decline a few years ago - pleased to see it back in great hands. Thank you.

Lovely refurbishment and nice atmosphere. The booking system was easy and on arrival was shown to our table. Also nice to have the facility to book our meals from our table save having to get up and queue at the bar.

Came in for lunch with my parents. I had the Chicken Tikka Curry it was amazing. The staff are all really friendly and they let dogs in in certain areas which is a bonus. Will definitely be back.

My husband & I booked a date night meal out to celebrate 4 weeks of wedded bliss. It was a brilliant experience. Although our table wasn't quite ready on arrival, we were made comfortable and taken care of while we waited a few minutes. The dining room was clean & tidy, service was prompt but not intrusive, the food delicious and the atmosphere very friendly.

We enjoyed a very good straightforward meal. Amazing value and very good service. My gammon was beautifully cooked with lovely chips and petit pois. Good choice of beers, lagers and everything else. Very friendly staff.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch with family and friends. We were a group of 10 and everyone enjoyed their meals. They all came out together without too much waiting. Clean, modern decor and professional friendly staff. Definitely book a table because it gets busy.

Partner and I were in at lunchtime 4 a meal. We both had mushrooms as starter, and burger as mains. He had treacle sponge for dessert, and I the choc/orange torte. They were all well cooked and tasty. Food here is regularly good, and rarely disappointing.

Booked for 17 people for my partner's 40th birthday. We had an area to ourselves all on the same table as requested. Staff were great and made sure any issues were sorted out immediately. It was a fantastic service and the food was delicious. I would recommend and definitely be going back again.

A very popular pub with nice and courteous staff. Food was generally in par with others. Unfortunately the steak was overcooked today.

After passing this place on numerous occasions, my partner and I decided to give it a try. Sadly, this pub has been neglected by its chain, The future is badly worn. We ordered food regardless, choosing from the 3 course Sunday lunchtime menu, We both had prawns for starters, and both of us enjoyed this, a roast dinner each, Not the best I've had, luckily we'd ordered a side of new potatoes as the roast potatoes were cooked well past there best indeed my partner left all her roast. Service for the two courses was sloppy, with the main coming out without cutlery to eat with, To be fair, this was instantly spotted and fetched. Desert never came. Well, we had to go back to the bar and ask for it. Would I go again? Only if I see it get a refurbishment, as it stands, I would not recommend it to my friends.

Waited over an hour for two meals. Uncooked chips. Cold parts of the mixed grill. And then had to wait 45 mins for a child's desert to come out. They did refund the food which was good of the manager but overall. Its not a scratch on what it was 18 months ago. Hopefully the kitchen team sort the issues out .

A friendly and relaxed pub where you can sit and chat with friends. I love the 'new' menu - lots of healthy food and different options. There are also fixed price menus available throughout both week days and evenings.

Good prices with reasonable range of food and drink available. Deals and offers available on different days and through the app. Friendly and cosy atmosphere with a patio garden to the rear. If using the the car park make sure you enter your numberplate on the console at the bar.

Best burger I have ever eaten. I'm not a fussy person and wouldn't normally choose a burger as I have found them to be disappointing. But both myself and partner went for the double and it was amazing. The whole ambiance from beer garden to inside was great. We did a 200 mile round trip to meet my daughter for a birthday lunch and it was well worth it, all came out smiling. Staff are amazing too.

Came with my son who has hearing issues, we was able to sit in the corner, bar lady was very nice and food was good, he loved his brownie, will keep asking to come back every Wednesday now 😁

I went there few days ago, saw this beautiful pub and we decided to stop. We order some food that arrived after 50 minutes or more. The steak was hard, the vegetables were frozen and watery when were eaten and the salad was very chewy. I put two stars because of the place. I would suggest the staff to improve a bit their food. Thank you

I like to go here for lunches.. it is not too busy and they have got some lovely vegan/vegetarian options. Good choice of ales too!! The corner table next to the window is our favourite place to sit. Friendly service from their brilliant staff

We booked for a party of 13 on valentines day. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was lovely and service excellent. Thank you to the staff who decorated the tables for us and made the day special. We really do appreciate it and will definitely return.
