The best Wetherspoons in Coventry, but nothing special really. Food is usually okay but clearly made very hurriedly, for eg burger would have a cold slice of cheese on it, not even heated for a few minutes. Portions are not very large and vary wildly, especially chips. The lack of attention to food leaves the experience mediocre at best, with a lot of dishes being half cold. Staff are quite nice but very overworked, needs to employ more people. The app ordering system is very simple to use and makes ordering efficient and quick. At the end of the day this is a huge chain and will never be as good as a smaller shop that pays attention to detail.

Semi-decent ‘chain’ pub, which is quite lively with a real mix of clientele. Good selection of beer/ales to choose from. Sadly, a few of the staff are lacking in customer interaction skills, and cleanliness lets it down - menus are sticky, as are the tables. Gents toilets - a regular clean wouldn’t go amiss! I would give 3.5 but the rating system doesn’t allow.

A special location, accessible both inside and outside. Food, drink, sometimes fun. The prices are in line with the local as well as its ultra-central position.

We have been visiting this Wetherspoon weekly since September 2022, but tonight, on November 20th, we experienced terrible service from the shift manager. Within an hour, the staff checked our IDs THREE times. Despite agreeing to leave after the meal due to ONE PERSON not having ID who was only there for Food, the shift manager behaved rudely, forced us to leave, and insisted on making our order takeaway, denying us sufficient time to complete our food. As regular customers, we do not deserve this inhumane treatment. This shift manager is the worst and most unkind we have ever encountered in our lives..

It was OK here, it would get 3.5 stars from me. The staff were nice and helpful, successfully fixed the coffee machine when the problem was pointed out. I was disappointed by the breakfast; especially what I got for my £5 as the portions (especially the non meat items) were quite stingy. Nice ambience on a sunny day early in the morning, but I'm told the ground floor is heaving by early afternoon. Mixed feelings about the place.

Had a small plate, ham egg and chips. It was lovely. Had a coffee with free refills all for £6.20! Very busy but staffed well so no long wait. Value for money and place good for all age groups.

Beautifully maintained pub with the right balance of yesteryear charm and modern niceties. Friendly staff, a plethora of drinks, great-tasting food, and all on a budget! Great for everything from a simple breakfast to serious drinking, and will most definitely be a mainstay of my nights out.

The nicest of the two Wetherspoons I visited in Coventry Centre. Mixed clientele of students, tourists and after work people. Nice outdoor area, seating on two spacious floors. Ordered via the app and drinks were served within minutes! Staff friendly. Ordered sirloin steaks which were cheap but chewy. Noticed a couple of people pestering customers outside for money which was sad to see and I’m not sure if anything can even be done about this but just to let anyone reading this know.

Exactly what you want and expect from a weatherspoons. Good beer, good food and good price with friendly staff

This was a lovely pub to have lunch at, set to a vintage design with many glorious lights! The counter is well-presented, a Christmas tree was a lovely decoration and the staff were really nice, especially when my friend became stressed and they helped look after him. The service was fine; I enjoyed the promo Chicken, Bacon and Stuffing Brie Pizza with a refreshing J20 at a clean table!

Good for drinks as they are cheaper but I’d be cautious on food choices again. Got the burger but I’d say it was as standard as they come. Patties were ok but very average. Can get better items elsewhere for cheaper

My Partner and i went for Lunch today. I ordered an all day Breakfast and my Partner a Burger. My meal came ahot and Tasty. My Partner seemed to have the incorrect Burger selection. This was sent back, the Bar Assistant Connor was exemplary in his swift attention to correct the issue. He was extremely kind and apologetic. The issue was sorted in no time and my Partners Meal was enjoyed as much as mine was. Well done

I ate here for breakfast on my way to Coventry University. They had great breakfasts including vegan options including vegan sausages. The portion sizes are of decent proportions and the bestvthing about any wetherspoons, its cheap and cheerful.

A typical weatherspoons right in town centre. Good service, good prices. On two floors and a bit of outdoor space in the street to watch the world go by. An old building looking onto Coventry cathedral. Worth a visit

Went there on a Monday morning and it wasn't busy. My friend and I ordered some breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the American Breakfast and my friend ordered some extras to make her own personalised breakfast. It didn't take long for us to get served.

My third spoon in a week. Food is probably the best among them. Friendly staff & good atmosphere.

Service was excellent very welcoming on entry to the venue. Staff are very polite and attentive. I ordered food and drink from the app to my table the service received from the staff member was very good. The poor lady was rushed off her feet and quite obviously her first shift but she made sure that all the tables were clean and clear for the customers to use. The member of staff I believe was called Jeanette always smiling and although she was very busy she had time to check that everything and everyone was happy and satisfied with everything. The venue as a whole was clean and tidy and well presented

I went for food last night with 6 friends. The waitress on floor was extremely friendly and hard working she didnt stop all the time we were there. Our empty glasses were cleared constantly and tables cleared efficiently and cleaned after plates were cleared. We wanted to give her a tip but unfortunately we didn't have cash on us! She was very hard working and was a pleasure to have her as our waitress ! Her name was Jeanette and i look forward to eating there again

The thing about Wetherspoons is they are consistent! The food was good, and excellent value, ordering off their app, is much more efficient than the old queues at the bar pre Covid. Good on the company!

Drinks have too much ice. Half of the glass is full of ice. When it melts, the soft drink lacks flavour. When I asked the bartender to remove the ice as I didn't want that much, said it couldn't. Don't think it's hard to take out some ice, so imma do it myself. However, not all staff are bad. Some of them are friendly and nice. Food is tasty. But I couldn't give more than 3 stars because of the things mentioned below.

Fantastic large and spacious pub with a beer garden! well worth the visit, it has very low pricing on drinks, and as you can imaginge it does get quite busy during the day and evening given the location. The food is of high quality and it is kept very clean!

Like many Wetherspoon restaurants it reflects the local area. The girl behind the bar offered to take my drinks to the table. Friendly and helpful.

Best Wetherspoons of the 3 in Coventry. Sat upstairs, nice atmosphere. Service via the app was superb. Food was quick to be served & lovely

We visited fairly early on a Sunday lunchtime and it was not that busy. It is set out over two floors with the upper floor more geared to the restaurant. The bar is downstairs. There is also an outside terrace area so has quite a continental feel! The staff were very friendly and we had great and quick service. The food was good and as usual very good value. You can order at the bar or via the App. When we are in the area we would visit again.

Disappointing breakfast, not very hot, tomato cold and uncooked, or not cooked very much. Fried eggs hard, and rubbery texture, bacon cold, beans warmish. Good points, sausage, hash browns and coffee hot. At present not serving meals after 8pm, due to staff shortages.

Excellent eating experience. Friday evening, so busy but with real atmosphere. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Full menu and food was superb and prompt. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening, many thanks.

A total storm of a place! Awesome location, nice menu, trippy drinks and club it with some nice weather, the outcome is some real good time! The staff as well is quite helpful and jolly! If you prefer a cosy atmosphere and wish to do away with cold weather, the inside seating is quite apt, but if you are an outside person and like taking on the weather head on, then outside tables are quite fun! The food menu is also bang on and offers a wide array of options!

This is the greatest spoons I have ever been to. I have travelled the UK extensively because I can only eat spoons food, and this is amazing delicacies of England. The only issue is that many Coventry university students go there- so have to take off a star.

This place was ok. I have been to many Wetherspoon pubs across the UK and this was one of the least inspiring. The tables were not cleared or cleaned very regularly. There was one staff member who seemed to be busy doing most things.

Great pub in the old Midland Bank building overlooking the Assembky Gardens. Good food and wide selection of drinks all at very reasonable prices served by friendly staff...brilliant!

I came here on Saturday, had one drink with my friend and decided to go outside in the seating area as it was too hot inside. There were empty glasses on our table which we just moved to the side, and while me and my friend were talking one of the staff (man with long hair) came over and asked if the glasses were finished with, I said they weren’t ours. About 5 minutes later we realised he had put 4 shot on our table, so we were confused and asked the people next to us if they were their shots, which they weren’t. So I assumed someone had bought them for us on the Wetherspoons app, and had 1 shot out of the 4, then the man came back over shouting at me for having a shot and demanding that I pay for it. I told him that he put them on our table so we assumed they have been bought for us, which he then said I said they were mine when he took them over to us (I didn’t, I didn’t even realise he bought them over as I was having a conversation with my friend). This staff member then started arguing with me and was SO rude to me over £2.50, which I did pay. I will not be coming back, as he was so rude to me and was shouting at me.

I have been here many times over the years and the quality is pretty consistent a typical JD place. Reasonably priced food and drinks and friendly staff. They seem to be taking COVID guidelines seriously too. ***Added since the original review*** I've been here many times over the last 20 years or so and things just seem to get better and better especially the staff. Would, especially, like to thank the young lady with glasses and the young man with a lot of tats for their fantastic and attentive service this evening. There are the reason for for increase from 4 to 5 stars. And all the other staff we interacted with this even were polite and friendly too. Thank you and well done.
