Decided to drop into this pub on a sunny Sunday afternoon with a friend and our children whilst out on a bike ride. From out outside front seemed nice a little and periodic Villiage pub. Inside was looking rather run down, very little atmosphere. Waited at the bar whilst the barmaid finished her cigarette out back. Ordered some drinks consisting of lemon and limes, orange juice and lemonade and a glass of water. We did ask for a tomato juice to which the response from the barmaid was "was is that?". Not sure I have ever been to a pub, bar or restaurant where the bar staff do not know what tomato juice is, needless to say they didn't have any of this mystical drink either. We decided to go and sit in the beer garden as there was a kids playground. Sadly this was as neglected and rundown as the inside. Rotton tables, a uses fire barrell and a tree with a very large broken branch dangling down right over the tables and children's play area, a big health and safety risk if you ask me. A quick call to the tree surgeon and a good tidy up is definitely required. However this won't solve the smell coming from the mountain of rubbish and bin bags that sit just a few feet away around the overspilling bins. All in all, I don't see myself returning to this place, which is such a shame considering the amount of potential a building like this has.

Went to this place because I heard the burgers were lovely last night. Went in not many people were eating we ordered our food which was 2 burgers, simple cheeseburger and a bacon burger with fries. The staff we rushed off their feet people sitting next to us had a complaint straight away their food wasn't right. So we ordered our food at 7 oclock at 7:45 I went up to the bar and asked where my food was they said there was a half an hour wait the lady told me it will be ready in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later I went to the bar and got a refund and left there was also a lady and a Gentleman complaining that their food had not come out they were the same as us they have been waiting a really long time I'm the place was empty there was no excuse why it had been that long to me it seems like they are more more concerned in deliveries than the people who are inside ordering I would not rate this place and I will not be going again

My first visit to this pub this morning . As some one who struggles in pubs I cannot fault the rainbow . The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff very warm and polite . Having followed the pub through a friends Facebook I finally got there today to try their much renowned pork pies!! To say they are lovely is an understatement. We loved them and they did not did not disappoint. My tongue is still buzzing from the chilli gel in the chilli pie . There is a fantastic selection of ales , beers and ciders and the pub is spacious well laid out . If you struggle around people in numbers then give the rainbow a go โ€ฆ. I definitely found a pot of gold ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŒž

Wonderful traditional pub. I first came here regularly in the 1980s when the boss brewed his own beer. Several changes since then. But good to now see three real ales on plus the usual lagers etc. Food menu is generally cold food only - but very good pork pies and cold meats and cheeses. Steep steps at entrance on main road and a small beer garden at rear down a side street. Definitely worth a visit when in the lovely village of Allesley. Bus stop close by X1 Bham - Coventry.

What a shocker... Used to be a great village pub with a good selection of beer, real ale, stout lagers you name it. Popped in mid way through a walk with the wife to find the real ales gone, instead it's become the cheap lager fest of a dozen pumps churning out the same tasteless nats pee... CAMRA don't bother. I was going to ask the bar tender what new management had taken over but as soon as we said there wasnt a beer for us she turned around hastily to carry on her conversation and ignoring my calls. Oldest and now worst pub in Coventry. The local Harvester has a better selection of beer...

Meal for 5 was perfect. Food was the best I've had in a long time. Childs portion was plenty for a child. As a Coeliac, the Gluten Free food was outstanding and the entire menu being GF was brilliant. Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff, will be visiting again. Only downside to this pub is a small-ish Car Park that won't accomodate how busy this lovely pub will become.

Disregard reviews prior to 16th December 2022 when the pub re-opened under new management. Well, that is, the same management as the Old Windmill in the centre of Coventry, so expect to see only good reviews in the future! It's early days so keep an eye on their Facebook page for food, but otherwise expect a clean, comfortable pub with a good selection of well-kept drinks and happy customers. Well done team - I'll be back. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜Š

We only stopped in for a quick drink but it is a lovely pub, they have a small play area for children with 2 slides, it would benefit the pub if this could be expanded slightly in my opinion. The parking is pretty bad, it is very very tight getting in and out but I suppose it will put off drunk drivers from getting on the road!

New to the area so didn't know anyone when I walked in. But there was a friendly welcome from staff and customers. Will be coming back. Delighted to see a range of events on the board coming up and even more pleased to see the dog bowls which suggest my dogs will be welcome too!

I was impressed with this pub. Very friendly staff (even put the log fire on for me when said i was a bit chilly). Beer selection pretty good. Not too many pubs like this in Coventry.

Spent a few hours in the company of the locals, very friendly, managed by superb landlords giving out free hot food to all while watching the six nations 5๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸhosts

Character pub, great locals, open fires, choice of beers and events. Also it's nice to hear that Michelle ( owner) has taken over this pub as well as running the windmill in Coventry. Great lovely manager, and staff. The very best to all.

Pub regularly without beer. Most pubs run out of maybe 1 beer but this pub often runs out of all draught beer like on the last 5 consecutive weekends. No management on the premises to complain to. Also seating is of a poor quality UPDATE. THE PUB CLOSES AS OF TODAY 1ST NOVEMBER 2022

Excellent beer at a decent price... The 7oz rump was cooked to perfection and chips/mushrooms excellent.. I even ate 90% of the salad and for me that's praise. Staff also excellent. Was really impressed if I'm in area again will definitely drop in.

Great food, we ordered a Kangaroo and Zebra Steak. Food well presented and prepared reasonably quickly. Both steaks served on a 'rock plate' giving you the option of continuing to cook the steak just the way you like it. Only downfall would be the building could do with a splash of paint in places but this wouldn't put us off from visiting again.

Very well kept beer, friendly staff. Above average pub food menu. Good atmosphere. There are several pubs closer to me but I prefer to walk an extra mile to this and call it my โ€œlocal.โ€
