Plenty of menu choices, friendly, attentive service, sometimes a bit too keen asking if ready to clear as we were still eating, but minor issue. Nice vibe and we all enjoyed our meals. We each had a different starter and main so had a good cross-section to determine the quality and quantity served up and this was very good on both counts. Wife had Chardonnay which was good too, unusual at a lot of pubs sadly but here a thumbs up. We'd certainly come back..

We hired the pod in the garden for a family meal, which was comfy and worth the additional hire charge, we only occupied the pod for half of the slot as one of party was working and was surprised that we were reminded to leave after 20mins of alloted time when wasn't being used after us! The staff serving were great. Food was OK, apart from adult sausage and chips was same as kids sausage meal apart from a fried egg!

Chicken was very chewey, when the waitress asked I explained this, she said they would "sort it". I later went to the bar to pay the bill, in which no one had come to me and said a thing about the awful chicken, next thing a male storms out, asked what the problem is, was very aggressive and nasty. To be honest I was a little bit scared. I will not be going back as I believe his behavior could have turned criminal as he was so volatile. Awful management, bad people skills, bad anger issues, not good food.

We were the only table dining and still my wife hadn't received her meal before some of the party had finished theirs. Our sons burger came without lettuce and mayonnaise, so was too dry, unfortunately he never told us until we left, as he didn't want to fuss. Very overpriced .... Stay away from the desserts, especially the churros

Fantastic place. Little quiet on a dark wet Monday early evening but the food was fantastic and the service very friendly too. Highly recommended.

Took my Grandson for lunch as he had a rare day off work. Service was excellent food amazing and big portions for a reasonable amount. The staff were friendly and helpful. Didn't wait long for food.

Don't live too far away and is a nice country pub to visit. The outside garden is great with canopy's and heating for the colder nights. The only negative is lack of play area or something for the kids so family's can come. When I was a kid they used to have a wooden play area which was great but they don't have anything now but lots of green space to fit one. So great pub with lots of outdoor space but if you have kids it needs some kind of play area to keep them entertained

Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Food was delicious, good specials, and good table service. As a stranger to the town it was a welcome stop of, and what seems to be ‘a great pub’

Mothers day meal - Arrived to find two empty tables with reserved notices on, and one dirty A4 sheet with the mother's day menu on. Push the two tables together, and wait.... and wait.... eventually we get a waitress to take our order. The food turns up, but we have to ask for cutlery. Two small bowls of carrots peas and broccoli then arrive (enough for two, but there are six of us!) We ask if we can have more, and are told no. More gravy... sorry no. Apple sauce, yes, but it turns up in a tiny pot, two tea spoons and it's gone. When we leave my partner sees the Landlady, and mentions the fact we are not happy.... she responds with basically if you don't like it go somewhere else! Don't worry, we will

We had a wonderful meal here, the staff were friendly and welcoming. They obviously have a good bunch of regulars who make for a great atmosphere. Well priced food too.

Went into the Horse and Jockey early Thursday evening meals start at 1700. We both had Gammon egg and chips, extra onion rings, all cooked well tasted lovely. Thought the chips were little frozen ones instead of homemade as advertised, but they were cooked well and very nice. Deserts were OK but we thought a bit expensive for portion size. very nice, though. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Went on Sunday 20th Feb 2022 Well what can I say excellent meals. We had a carvery the Amount of meat was Amazing food was lovely home cooked food. We had a excellent time . And certainly be back thankyou for the Amazing service and food

Lovely Sunday Lunch here and so much food for the money! Had the roast beef with Yorkshire pudding which was really tasty but I could only manage half of it despite trying my best to finish! We sat inside which was comfortable and had music playing with sports on the TV (muted) as we were keeping out of the sun, outside seating was busy though and there was even a visitor with a horse there when we got in. Good selection of drinks and friendly staff. Service was quick and toilets were clean. Would be happy to go back.

What a gem. Used to visit years ago, it's been updated since last we were in. Lunchtime special is a great deal, food really well presented, nice and hot and best of all really tasty at a great price. Would definitely recommend and will be returning 👌

Visited this pub last night. Lovely warm and friendly atmosphere, we were spoken to immediately by a member of staff who was very pleasant and helpful. After being shown to our table drinks were ordered and came promptly. The meal selection is great with a little bit of everything for everyone. We ordered the black and blue burger, house curry, fish pie and sausage and mash. What a meal! All the food was piping hot, looked amazing with generous portion sizes and tasted fantastic. Our compliments to the chef. We were only visiting the area for a couple of days and found this pub online. Will definitely visit again when we are back. We highly recommend this pub to everyone it was a real pleasure to visit.

Nice pub. Only John Smiths and Landlord on tap but the landlord is a decent pint. Staff are really friendly.

We had the Christmas meals and also a meal from the regular menu - they were all delicious. Just felt a little rushed, as bar closed earlier than we expected.

Brilliant food and lovely staff, the manager fitted a party of 12 in at short notice, I will be returning again, great place for adults and children, nice play area outside. Well worth visiting.

chicken and bacon salad unflavored, no sauce. there was only ketchup. This salad is not eaten with ketchup. The rest of my friends ordered grilled food and they got it cooked. Only friendly service

I've visited this place today for the lunch with my partner and his sister. We ordered 4 different meals and we weren't impressed. The meat and the vegetables were completely not seasoned, flavourless. All our meals did not taste good. We will not come back there.

Very friendly and inviting welcome. Nothing too much trouble and have been very accommodating with our yard Christmas Do arrangements. Menu looks lovely and reasonably priced, can't wait 👍

Excellent food and services was very good, food and drinks arrived fast considering it was 70% full. Nice big car park and lovely decorated to match the food. Could do with limiting the doors that open, smokers keep going out making us cold.
