I went to The Botanist for the first time and had a mixed experience. I was given a really dirty glass, with lipstick marks and asked for a new one. The guy brought me another one without even looking to it, because it was also dirty and wet. We also ordered 2 beers, one of them came with a massive dent. Not a very good experience to begin with. On the other hand, the food was amazing, and considering I am vegan, there was quite a few options to choose from for dinner. And a delicious tart, a little bit sweet for my taste, but really good.

This was our first visit to The Botanist . It was a lunch time visit and the food was a choice of 5 dishes out of a number on offer. It was tasty and surprisingly filling. Billie our waitress was helpful and gave us plenty of time to choose from the menu ! The surroundings are colourful and relaxing, the bridges and water flowing added ambience to this large restaurant. I can imagine the evening with the extended menu to be well worth another visit .

What a lovely venue to visit, the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is like a big victorian greenhouse, full of interesting plants. Not too expensive for such a great atmosphere. The hanging kebabs are totally different from what we are used to. We'll worth a visit.

What a lovely service, food and environment~ Enjoy the cocktails and lively music. Highly recommended the hot board and hanging kebabs. They provide large portions, made us felt full and content after dinner.

From the moment we arrived, we were informed that we needed to vacate our table by 8 PM, even before we had the chance to place our orders. This initial rush set a negative tone for the evening, as the waitstaff seemed more focused on turning tables than ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Throughout our meal, the waiters were in a hurry to collect our plates, often whisking them away before we had finished. This constant disruption disrupted the flow of our dinner and added to our growing discomfort. The quality of the food was a major letdown. It was excessively oily and lacked flavor. To make matters worse, my salad arrived with brown, wilted lettuce, which was not only unappetizing but also a clear indication of a lack of attention to detail in the kitchen. Adding to the discomfort was the poor air circulation within the restaurant. The atmosphere felt stuffy and made it difficult to enjoy our meal comfortably. One of the most frustrating aspects of this experience was the high prices we encountered. For the quality of food and service provided, the prices were exorbitant and simply unjustifiable. It's truly disappointing that a restaurant with such an attractive design could offer such a lackluster dining experience. While the ambiance may have been inviting, it failed to compensate for the subpar food, rushed service, and uncomfortable dining conditions. I left this establishment feeling unsatisfied and with no desire to return. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant due to its poor value for money and the significant improvements needed in both food quality and customer service. It's a regrettable situation when aesthetics overshadow the essence of a truly enjoyable dining experience.

Oh wow! Everything about this place I love. The decor the atmosphere the food, first time here will definitely be added to my favourites list. Had to leave in a hurry after a urgent phone call so didn’t leave a tip felt really bad after such amazing service, next time guys!

Food and cocktails are fantastic. The service, leaves a lot to be desired. Took a few minutes to even get somebody's attention at the entrance to seat us for a meal. Cocktails came as did a jug of tap water, we had to ask multiple staff members for glasses for the water, each one would say yes then not return. When our food came we wanted to order a couple more drinks (we'd had one so far) and again it's impossible to get the attention of the wait staff - they either were more interested in their phones or just blankly ran past, at no point did anyone ask how our food was or take another drink order (25 mins or so - even going to the till and waiting to be served there!). When they finally serve you they are very pleasant, but actually getting service is a struggle. Wouldn't recommend/won't be returning.

They make extremely delicious cocktails, nice ambience, good service, wonderful staff, the decor is fantastic. Two problems: hygiene and loud dance music. This is a pub where you socialize with others not a nightclub. The music is so loud you can barely hear the people you are with.

Couple of years back I did not had a great experience, the cocktails were not only expensive but tasteless. The new bartender is young but makes delicious cocktails. A bit pricey for food & drinks but worth if want to have an exotic experience.

A very pretty location, lovely mocktails and even had Romanian wine on the menu. We tried the food sharers - coated fried onions, hummus and squid with seaweed and they were very tasty. A little pricey but very nice atmosphere, great decor and located around the corner from the carpark. Food came out very quickly so that was a plus!

The food is very tasty!l An excellent choice if you want a balanced diet! The salad with the extra chicken was delicious! The dressing of the broccoli was exceptional. The plant based burger was very good too.

Fantastic place for a pint with friends. Unfortunatelly no choice of ales, but you can have a beer there. Beautiful interior. I recoment to sit upstairs to enjoy the view onto entire place. Fantastic glass roof giving lots of light.

Always a great meal out at the Botanist. Lovely food, great cocktails and attentive staff. Friends & family are always impressed with how beautiful it is inside.

A great spot in the center, with the most amazing interior decor! The food was good, but eating in this garden gable was a real treat. Other tables had ordered kebabs which swing on a hook, but that’s not our style, the mezze platter was definitely a winner for us. Coffees were real brewed, no acrid or acid flavours! Staff were friendly and helpful, full of smiles.

Had a lovely time, food was so good and live music was on point. Was really busy so it was hard to get attention from staff but all were very nice. Definitely will be coming again

The setting is very nicely done. It's quite airy and with character. The service is wonderful and the atmosphere when we went on a Wednesday was quiet and lovely. Unfortunately the food is just plain. Is not bad but is not wow either. We didn't have any cocktails from the bar so I don't know what to say. Party of 8.

Atmosphere, cocktails, dessert and service was 10/10. Food didn’t really meet the standards. We had the halloumi on stick and chicken on stick which looks amazing. Presentation 10/10 but taste was not up to standards for the price paid.

Last minute turned up with 11 people....On a Tuesday evening. The team were super accommodating and were great. I have to say that the decor and environment were pretty good and you could have been anywhere in the world (although in this instance Coventry). Food was good, colleagues were good and I'd definitely visit again

The atmosphere is great, and the cocktails are excellent. The service is good too. Unfortunately, the food didn't meet my expectations. I tried a few dishes, but I didn't like any of them.

A lovely charming place with great atmosphere. I had dinner here on Friday night, lots of good vegan options and service was amazing. It's really beautiful inside and they have seating on 2 levels. Live music was playing Friday evening and the band took music requests. Will certainly be back for more, when I'm back in Coventry.

Beautiful floral/green inside setting for a date, anniversary, or catch up with a friend. Main, drink, dessert and coffee will set you back about £35+pp. (Not including a starter.) But overall it's worth it. Nice ambiance with friendly quick service. One of the nicest more upscale options in the Coventry City center, so you get what you pay for. In the summer there is some outdoor seating on the balcony and on the ground floor. The other benefit to this restaurant is that there is a wheelchair accessible lift on the outside! ♿ Saturday nights usually have live music and the bar area is rammed. There's no formal dress code, but majority of people will be wearing smart attire. RSVP is a must for the weekends. It was a bummer that at 5:30pm when we arrived, already they were out of a few key menu items! But with supply chain issue headlines in the media, this is probably becoming the new norm. So make sure you choose your first option, and have a second one for backup. One very important point: No Cash Accepted! Card or Contactless Payment Only! 👍🏼 Look forward to visiting here again one day!

Quite mixed experience. The food was good but a bit heavy, the service was polite and pleasant but mixed up our order. On a very good note, very beautiful location and decor. Would recommend for drinks and hangover cure!

Drinks were great, had the kebab and camembert for food which was delicious. The waiter serving us was great, super friendly. Visit was a great experience

Really lovely staff who were friendly and chatty. Gorgeous surroundings both inside and out. Really quirky place ideal for a meal or drinks (or both!). Highly recommend.

It was a particularly good experience. I accidentally knocked over the glass that I had not taken a few sips of. A tall bro kept saying it was okay and helped me sort it out. Then unexpectedly gave me another glass of new cocktail. Really heartwarming!!
