We booked a private party for our very friendly and diverse group, with two overnight stays and musicians booked to play. Phoned 3 days ago, everything fine then contacted today by the owners and told that we have been cancelled, 4 days notice! Out of pocket and Xmas party plans ruined. The reason given was that some locals did not hold our views and the pub wished not to be associated with us. How nice! As a customer check before booking in case your opinions do not align with the owners, (whatever they might be?)

The kind of owners who are so arrogant and small minded that they ban a group of friendly, peaceful people from their pub because they don't agree with them on everything.

The new owner apparently said he would honour all existing bookings. I was booked to play at a Christmas party on the 16th of December. I was going to stay overnight as well. The new owner cancelled this booking on the hearsay of someone else's opinion. If you intend on staying here I would suggest have a plan B as this owner is not a man of his word.

I'd give the new owners no stars if I could. Cancelled a Christmas party at the last minute, around 100 disappointed people. Wo betide if you don't think the same way as them, very narrow-minded owners. Also, unless you like your burger cremated, I wouldn't recommend the food either.

Shocked to find this pub filled with very young looking youths sniffing in the toilets and being aggressive in the smoking area. Challenge 25 needs to be used.

Recently visited on a warm, sunny day so was able to sit outside. A glass of cold cider and great food (BLT & sausage baguette) served by friendly staff.

Very disappointed our Christmas party was cancelled at the last moment. We are a very friendly supportive group of people who, like everyone else, just wanted to have a good time at Christmas, with songs and dancing, not to use the occasion specifically to express our views which, apparently, a small number of locals don't agree with. Indeed, some of the locals have joined in with the dancing and singing at our previous parties there and a good time was had by all. Despite this, the new owner chose to cancel as it appears you are not allowed a viewpoint unless all of his locals agree with it!! Disgraceful.

This is a very nice pub to have a drink after work. It is very cozy and the location is easy to find also with parking spots. The waiters are very friendly and the drinks taste very good. They have several different kind of beers.

Really nice place to visit especially in the summerβ€”lots of grassy, outdoor seating. Food is decent, plenty of snacks. Friendly, hardworking staff. They always have at least a couple of cask ales on, which is the most important thing ;)

We had a very pleasant time here, good drinks on tap from multiple breweries and a proper pub atmosphe, good menu and portions just the right size. Friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff. There is a proper pub garden with Aunt Sally board in the back and when we ordered food it was prompt service and very tasty!

Lovely pub with that authentic feel (not a chain). The burger was brilliant and enormous, the portion sizes are large and the quality is really there. Friendly service, colouring books provided for the little children with colours. Great outdoor area although no play area if you're looking for one. The gammon steak is enormous, really great value for money.

This is a great pub to enjoy some cheeky jars with friends, at anytime of the day or week. I also had my 40th here. They gave us the main room reserved for our private party. Open tab for all our guests. Great pub grub at really affordable prices. And they don't charge a private event fee, just the cost of booze and food. They help facilitate a brilliant evening celebrating with friends and family.

We have been to this pub before. Popped in yesterday, very last moment to grab a drink, sit outside in the sun and then decided to have a bite to eat. Grass needs cutting dreadfully, lets the gardens down. Used the toilet, no toilet roll (luckily I always have tissues in my handbag!). Hubby wanted fish and chips and I wanted the kentucky chicken in a waffle bap. Went in to place the food order, no fish and chips, so then ordered 2 of the kentucky chicken (and what a big debate that was! no waffles (easiest thing in the world to make and very few basic ingredients)), so went for the bread roll. Eventually food arrived and what a huge disapponitment, certainly not worth the money! The coating of the chicken was almost black it was so over cooked, no garnish, just some cheap fries. Both of us didn't enjoy it one bit! The whole place seems to have gone down hill. Place was dead for such a beautiful afternoon (maybe it's the decline of the place that has caused this). Anyway all in all VERY disappointing and certainly wouldn't recommend and won't be going back again :(

Charming pub with good atmosphere. Food was a non starter due to price and what was on offer. Again, beers a fiver a go... Lots of pubs going out of business, but not this one.

Probably the best pub lunch we've had. Great food, tonnes of it at a reasonable price. Nice little location with a suntrap garden and truly wonderful staff.

A five minute walk from the railway station. Very old building with a warren of rooms, two grassed beer gardens and impressive ales, okay to try before you buy. Wednesday is pie and pint night.

Stayed at Annora House across the road and they recommended the Brickmakers for an evening meal. The portions of food were good. Menu was varied. Food was very tasty and well cooked. The pub has a good lot of local, regular customers, who were welcoming and friendly, as were all the staff. Sometimes locals can be a bit hostile to outsiders, but not here. We would go there again if we were in the area.

Very much enjoyed the pub, service and food on a recent visit. Good choice of lagers, ale, spirits and wine. Comfortable seating inside and well accommodated outside seating provision with cover should the weather be inclement. I can highly recommend the burgers which are hand made on the premises. Happy to recommend and will return.

Just popped in for a break & a quick bit to eat. What a cool surprise this place is. Food was amazing & big enough to constitute a proper meal at the cost of a sandwich, clean & tidy, quiet & peaceful. We'll impressed +

No food on Sunday at 7:30 Thought we would try a local country pub rather than a chain. Don’t bother

What I would call a 'traditional' pub. No TV's or intrusively loud music. Just a nice location with great beer & rather good food. Large portions, make sure you take an appetite.

Lovely meal, the burgers are lovely. Nice and thick. Help a local pub out, good for sport as well as being a local pub. If we're in the area again, we'd return. πŸ‘

Brilliant team who catered for a memorial gathering. Food was lovely and lots of it. Staff couldn't do enough to make sure the afternoon went well. Lounge dedicated for our guests only including a beautiful outdoor canopy area directly off the lounge with some funky wooden furniture. Highly recommend for food and hospitality, very clean and welcoming.
