The Griffen used to be a restaurant I went to rather regularly But the service is ghastly of late, And the food, well the menu sure has changed a lot and the price would not justify the experience either. The steak Is rather bland and unappealing the meat lacks any flavor. The fries might as well have been poured out of the freezer onto your plate. I would highly recommend taking your trade elsewhere where there are higher quality options that will not waste your time like this establishment will.

Absolutely gorgeous meal here. Food was great, atmosphere was lovely and staff friendly. Years ago it use to be a bad pub, so if you haven't been since before it became a Rossetti (or however you spell it) forget what you know and go there immediately! Also lovely beer garden.

Stopped in for drinks after a disappointing visit to a restaurant down the road, wish we could have eaten here instead. Quiet music and fully stocked bar, very nice interior design.

Amazing menu and lovely surroundings. Roast dinners were absolutely spot on. Massive Yorkshire puds. Warmly welcomed and staff couldn't do enough.

Lovely pub, really nice food and service was quick and staff were polite. Food was served quickly and was piping hot. Prices were very reasonable and as we were a large party they even split the bill for us to pay separately.

Great meal for 4 people aged 60 to 95 years old. The staff are always helpful, pleasant and happy to help. The food is cooked nicely and presented well to tempt the customer. The selection of food and drinks is good. All in all a great time was had. Thank you.

I booked our table online the day prior to our arrival. The process was easy and straightforward. On the day we were met at the entrance by a polite lady who took our details and then showed us our table. The table, chairs and floor were all clean. We didn't have to wait long before our drinks orders were taken, then we had time to look at the food menus. The food came out hot and tasted delicious. After finishing our desserts the table was cleared. We were not rushed at any point. We'll be back.

Great service, food and drinks as normal. Second time we’ve had a fairly large (and loud) table been served by Lexi A! She’s very patient and fab with our loud kiddos. Thanks again all at the Griff ❤️

We had an excellent lunch for three. Starters and main courses were superb. My only slightly negative comment is the warm chocolate brownie wasn’t warm. In all other respects it was excellent meal and we’ll certainly be returning.

Brilliant place. Very cozy, good ambience, friendly staff and nice outdoor seating area. We didn't order any meals, but the menu had decent vegetarian and vegan options. Will be coming back soon hopefully

Food wasn't great. I've only been a few times and each time things fall short of the mark. I'm afraid it comes down to food quality and cooking standards. I feel like things could be improved by looking at what goes into and comes out of the kitchen.

very positive experience. I have a number of allergies so eating out can be difficult. I was able to use the allergy filter before arriving on the website to see what I could have and staff were very attentive whilst we were at the restaurant

We cannot praise The Griffin staff enough for their personal service. Dani, Lewis, Chef Emma & Billy really made us all feel so welcome and made our evening personable! The staff were friendly, organised with our food order list, they dressed for Christmas to share the spirit and were super friendly. The whole family of 20 enjoyed their wonderful meals, thanks to both chefs :-) Kay & Family x

Last week was the first time I came to this place after over ten years, and had to come back less than a week later. Food is amazing-cooked lovely and presentation is very imaginative. Place has got unique homey atmosphere and service is second to none!

Lovely, warm and welcoming pub with friendly and attentive staff. Clearly take allergy information seriously. Good honest pub food that is well cooked and presented.

Lovely surroundings, clean and very quaint, one of the bar staff took a photograph of us, which was much appreciated. The food was excellent and there was a good choice of low alcohol beer. Our friendly server was very attentive and helpful. We don't live in this area, but if we did we would definitely come again.

The two mixed grills were amazing, a friend of mine said they hadn’t had one that good for ages!!! And lamb chops cooked perfect!! Only minor complaint would be the fish needs to be more crispy as the batter was a bit soggy but still tasted great!! And more mushy peas!! Had a lovely meal and it’s becoming our fave place to come for lunch or dinner!!

We had our 50th wedding anniversary meal here on sat 8th July for all our family . Lovely food , all staff very attentive. Always on hand to ask if we needed drinks etc . Smashing room for just the 16 of us . Great thanks.

Staff were fantastic, however the price of drinks were far to high. It makes it less affordable to go out. The place felt comfortable and warm.

Visited today. Ordered 2 x double brandies with mixers & charged extortionate price. We are regulars at The Griffin Inn & never been charged these prices before. When I asked Bar Staff (lady) why they were so expensive het reply was " We've only got Remy." Remy Martin is a champagne cognac not brandy. Griffin Inn ....... you should advise your customers this when they first order 🤔

Absolutely amazing.. nothing was too much trouble especially as we had a gluten free diner with us. Both the waiting staff we had were great

We received a very friendly greeting. My husband and I arrived early but were asked if we'd like to wait in the bar or sit at the table. We were led to a clean table - the whole place had a lovely atmosphere - where we waited for friends. We decided what to eat but were a little disappointed to find we had to choose alternatives as they were out of crayfish and chicken. We understood that this couldn't be helped, and we did enjoy what we had. Service from Nicky was excellent, and she was very helpful. One of our party has dairy allergies and he was happy to find plenty of choice. The food was of good quality and good value for money. Will certainly visit again.

The food was lovely here, however the service was seriously slow. We were in the snug so maybe they forgot about us but lengthy waits to order, to get drinks, starters to arrive then again a wait between courses meant my children were tired and hungry by the time we ate ( more than an hour after we got there) the staff were nice but the waits made it hard to enjoy a family reunion.

Excellent food as usual. Quirky pub with lots of character. My dinner was amazing. Great selection on the menu. Friendly staff also which is great. Quite quiet today but it gets very busy in the summer months. Always a fave of mine.

This was the second time i have been to the establishment first time was over 3 years ago. This time was even better. Food was amazing atmosphere was nice (it's January and covid is around so wouldn't expect it being busy) Staff was fantastic, smiley, friendly and overall pleasant and happy. I have worked in hospitality for nearly 15 years and this would definitely be a team i would be extremely happy and proud to have working for me.

The food and the portions were fabulous = 5 star. However, the table and chairs ehere we were seated were very uncomfortable.

I haven’t been in years and always remember it being a decent restaurant but I believe it’s been renovated and revamped and can say I went in with high hopes and it still exceeded my expectations. Service was quick. Food was good. Staff were friendly. 10/10 service :)

Staff were friendly welcoming and prompt we had a table booked and got there early for a drink. A tab was set up to our table so we could pay at the end. We were showed to our table quickly when we were ready and the staff were attentive and never felt like we were waiting for a member of staff. The food was amazing. The meat on the mixed grill was good quality and cooked exactly as requested. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing experience.

The Griffin is a rustic country pub/restaurant. The Griffin of course is a mix of Lion and Eagle and is famed for its protection of treasure or priceless items. I’m not sure if any treasure is hidden but this country establishment is a gem. It’s a lovely warm interior with stained dark beams and walls. The seating areas are spacious and comfy. The Griffin also has extensive grounds with a great christens play area including a wooden train. Covered seating areas are placed around the rear giving a nice private area to enjoy food or a few drinks. The menu is modest but has a good selection. A lunch deal offers a nice short menu with an option of two or three courses. The food is good , well priced and extremely good value for the quality of the cuisine provided. The service is also good and the staff friendly. Overall the Griffin is a great country pub and eatery. I didn’t discovered any treasure but you never know.

Visited in a regular Wednesday evening. Had parwn cocktail to start, needed seasoning but portion size was good. Main was Duo of Chicken and Beef. Both were cooked perfectly, beef literally fell apart with the touch of a fork! Gravy was superb.

There were six of us and we all thoroughly loved our Roast dinners, everyone commented how nice they were. The staff were very attentive and courteous and besides one slight mishap with the order we were quite happy to overlook it and enjoy our meals

Much better since changing hands. Bar staff who actually speak and look like they're not being held hostage. Food was lovely quality, no excessive wait for adult or child food despite being a sunny Saturday evening.

We had a lovely table in the corner out of the way. The food was lovely, but we had to ask for our pudding twice and waited over 29/30 minutes for the used plates to be cleared. This hadn’t put us off going again, but it was a disappointing part of our visit

The food was delicious! There was little wait time for our food to be served, and the service from Lexie was super friendly and polite. The atmosphere was relaxing and made for a nice setting to enjoy a meal.

Our overall experience was fantastic, unfortunately we had to send back one meal twice due to it being undercooked but the staff dealt with the issue quickly and gave us a discount on our bill . Service was quick and we were offered regular drinks checks . Would recommend for a special occasion as we were a large group an we were well looked after .

Food was fantastic - great portions, looked beautiful, and tasted great. Sadly the service was lacking. Ended up ordering at the bar as we had a gluten free mea to order. Drinks were ordered on the app to try and speed up the process
