Firstly it's such a shame I won't be going back because the food was really nice. My table was booked at 3pm on a Sunday so not late in to service, I ordered our meals for the 4 of us I wanted a burger to be told they have no burger buns so no burgers. I understand places run out of things so no issue. So I ordered a sirloin steak to then be told no sirloin, I then order rump to then be told no rump. Thinking now this is just ridiculous I order gammon and guess what no gammon. What have you got nothing apparently. I settle on new York chicken but guess what they have it apparently but noooooooooo when it comes out no onion rings. Do you know why yep you guessed it they just ran out. But that's not all we go for desert and luckily they had everything we ordered well apparently. So I order and I pay for then the waitress to come over to say the rocky road sundae will have to be all vanilla ice cream because you'll never guess yep they ran out of chocolate ice cream. In future if people are paying for food first please make sure you have enough food to fulfill the order because when you take peoples money and then can't supply what people have paid for is not on and then don't even offer an alternative to what's missing just ignore it. If anyone goes there I would make sure they have what you are ordering before you pay because they will just take your money and just not give you the full meal. I'm really not surprised on a Sunday afternoon there was so few people in there

Might as well remove the 2 for 1 meal offer. One main course costs around £18 - £19 (and above) so might as well just charge normal prices for one meal like other pubs. Food tasty, as you would expect from any business providing meals.

From entering through to leaving the service and meals that we had exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent and hot which in our experience doesn’t happen all the time in other establishments. The service was impeccable, warm & friendly at all times. We will definitely be returning for a full family Sunday lunch at the end of October. Thank you to all who were working on our visit.

I really like it here. We went for the Tuesday lunch deal. The food came out quickly and was cooked to perfection.. was super tasty. The staff are super helpful and really polite and the prices are really good. We will be back!

The chap who served us was really friendly, so were the ladies. We arrived before our time slot to eat and he seated us straight away. He was friendly & attetive. The food was fab. My friend had the hunters chicken, my partner had a pizza & I had a brownie sundae. All were exceptional. The pub had a lively atmosphere and we would definitely eat here again. Thank you.

Despite being quiet in the restaurant it took an age for our mains to come out, when they did arrive the food was lukewarm and one of the meals was missing its onion rings. Whilst ordering, many items we chose from both the child's menu and the desert menu were unavailable.

Nice quiet little place. There was a pizzeria just inside the door. And a children play area by the carpark entrance. The 'two for one' marketing while 100% accurate is a little misleading, as the price of a main meal is almost as twice what you would expect to pay for pub grub. With most main around the £19 mark, and a pint of coke setting you back almost £4. Despite this i must say the food was very nice. The brie bites with onion chutney was a great starter. Which I followed up with the ultimate burger 3 beef burgers in a bun with sweet potato fries. The avoid a lock jaw situation 😋 i cut it in half. The staff were really pleasant and our server was very helpful. It was a meal and visit i would happily repeat if im in the area again.

Well I was recommended here because the food was good. That's if you get the food before you order an Uber eats. Saturday night, I waited over 2 hours for a starter. When I got the starter, it was good. However, it was not worth the 2 hour wait. Now, before the starter came out, we asked the waiter when the kitchen stopped taking orders, and she told us 9pm. Went up to order to before 9pm to be told the kitchen had closed. Now I put forward to them that the waiter had told us 9pm. To be told they couldn't get the chefs to work, and we would be able to order dessert. After only having a starter, i would have liked a main before dessert. When I went to pay, no apologies given, no discount was applied. I ended up as a local chicken shop for my main, and the chefs there wanted to work. Will not be returning to this restaurant. We booked a table for 15 people, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. From special diets (gluten free and nut free diets were requested) to a new batch of pigs in blankets, the staff were helpful, polite and were willing to go above and beyond. The kids didn't like the pigs in blankets on their plates so we mentioned this to the waitress, and the kitchen brought out a plate full of different ones for us to try, with no extra charge! The only complaint was the length of time it took for thr food to start coming out of the kitchen. But once it was, it ran quite smoothly. I have to mention that we did go for Xmas dinner, so that may explain the wait.

Decided to give this place another go after a few years now it was no longer a 2-4-1. The best thing about tonight was probably leaving safe in the knowledge we wont bother again! We should have known what was coming by the fact the restaurant was practically empty. First we ordered drinks, which the bar maid seemed to think we could open ourselves and was confused when we asked if they could actually open the bottle for us? Even ordering was hard work as nobody could work the till properly. Took 40 minutes for the starter to arrive, even though the place was empty. Finally the main course came, steaks were ordered medium but came out shrivelled up and over done. The only thing edible was the chips which were clearly just frozen bought. And yes we would have complained to staff had we actually seen any, I think even they knew the service and food was a shambles so they literally dropped and ran, never to be seen again. Suffice to say we won't visit again!

Food was well cooked and good portions for the price. Unfortunately, the menu was restricted due to certain items being out of stock, and this was at 2.30 in the afternoon! Staff were friendly and very efficient. Good choice of drinks

There was no gammon and 1 portion of fish and chips on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered a medium steak, it came cremated. The chicken burger - even a packet Rustlers is better, cowboy burger OK but very small, even the apple crumble was like porridge. The pub was basically empty but it still took an hour for food.Will not be returning.

A party of 45 waited 45 minutes no apology, luke warm to cold Christmas meal. Very disappointed with the whole experience. This is a beautiful pub that could do really well, with a good chef and proper service.

We ate from the festive menu and all three courses were superbly prepared and served on schedule. The waiting staff were extremely attentive and checked back with us at an early stage of each course in order to address any potential issues.

I visit this venue quite often with different friends as it has good parking, the staff are warm and friendly. An affordable and varied menu. I have also booked for Christmas Day for my husband and I this year.

Tonight staff from another location covered the bar. We had an amazing time. The cover staff were really friendly and made us feel right at home. We had a dog with us and the staff could not have gone further out their way to accommodate

This is our second bad meal in a row at the corner house. The first meal we had took over an hour and 15 minutes to arrive and when it eventually came all our food was over cooked and had no flavour but we gave the benefit of the doubt because it was a Friday evening and the restaurant was busy. On our second attempt my partner and I ordered the sirloin steak and it just wasn’t edible we’ve never had a steak that was so fatty we just couldn’t chew it. We live locally in Whitestone and the corner house was our go to but the last 2 occasions have been very poor.

Always drove past this pub on route to work and decided let's try it. Food and service was excellent. Menu pricing reasonable priced also! Great offers daily. Would recommend to all.

Pleasantly surprised. There was a decent choice of vegetarian meals and the food was reasonably priced. I like the ordering at your table - made it very easy. Drinks arrived super-quick and food soon after. Will definitely be back.

Been meaning to try this restaurant for a couple of years and finally got round to it today. What fools we are for not having been there sooner! Absolutely fantastic meal, extremely pleasant staff, lovely place. Already looking forward to our next visit and planning to take family & friends. A real gem 💎👍🏼

Food looks ans tastes amazing, drinks are really nice but very expensive. Friendly environment and small children's area. Highly recomend.

Very good service, the food in general was good, it was served very hot, the steak and ale pie wasn't the tastiest and the gammon was on the salty side but the portions were a good size and filling with plenty of chips. The starters were tasty and a reasonable size. Overall we were quite pleased.

Staff very friendly and efficient. Nice decor. Very clean environment (all tables seemed to be cleaned thoroughly after customers left). Excellent pub food and reasonable value for money. Kitchen was, apparently, quite busy, so delivery of our order was a little slower than we'd hoped; service otherwise very good. All in all, a pleasant experience; won't hesitate to come again. 🙂

The staff where great but the food was not perfect. Pizza was too burnt. The mozzarella dough balls had no mozzarella. And some of the items wanted was not available. No dippy gravy. No mix grills. The room was also muggy with no air conditioning because of the temperature For our first time here we left disappointed

Basic pub food. Served hot. Slow service, long wait to order and receive food. Sunday lunch, portions a little small. The plate seemed to have water and gravy, maybe cabbage wasn't drained enough. Ok value for money.

The Corner House has become a family favourite especially with 2 children it’s great value for money the staff are always very welcoming and make a point of talking to the children and asking what they want rather than directing the question to us as parents which they really love as they love being treated like the mini grownups they’re becoming (8&7) so a big thank you to both Jenna & penny (who said it was her 2nd shift) who I think were our waitresses on bonfire night. We’ve recommended the restaurant to other family members who now always suggest coming here when they visit!

Great, party of four enjoyed an impromptu meal. Really good food and beer at a fair price. Service was also very good compared with the majority of the market.

Friendly warm staff greeted us at the door. Within a few minutes we were seated. Drinks order taken and received in good time. Order for food all good and delivered by friendly staff. They checked everything was good during the meal. Card machine came in good time when asked to pay the bill. A friendly goodbye for staff. A very pleasant meal and the food was lovely too. Well done Corner House we will be back.

Great service from staff. Keeley was our server and she did so well as she was the only waitress working. The place was very quiet when we arrived and soon became busier at lunchtime, but she managed all the tables and was very prompt at bringing us drinks, bringing out our meals, clearing the table, taking more drink orders and orders for dessert. The menu had plenty of choice for all and some lovely veggie and vegan options and the food was lovely. We plan to go back very soon.

Honestly such a lovely meal! We weren’t sure what to expect with being a large party of 20 (we’ve had bad service/meals before in other places) but it was amazing from start to finish! Meals were delicious, staff were lovely and made paying so much easier with breaking our group into sections and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be coming back!

My wife and I took the family to the Corner House at 16.15 on Christmas Eve for the Festive meal. The family are mostly from Colombia where they celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve so this was a special meal. The starters and puddings were OK but all the main meals were very poor quality, I believe not freshly cooked but seemed to be warmed up. The turkey was sliced processed turkey not cut from a freshly cooked turkey. Our daughters cod was too dry to eat. The beefburger for one of our grandchildren was so hard and tasteless it was inedible. Over the years I have had many good meals there and was expecting a much better meal than we had on this occasion. At no point did anyone ask if our meals were OK. Given that the place was virtually empty, the service was very poor having to wait quite a long time between courses, from when we arrived it took over four hours. I now know why it was the only place where they were not fully booked. You can call your turkey what you want but it was not cut from a freshly cooked turkey, it was at least boned and rolled. Nobody, at any time, asked us if our food was OK. I will repeat that the main courses were very poor, I note you make no mention of the dry inedible cod and the hard, tasteless burgers the children could not eat. Had I said anything to you at the time I fail to see how you could have done anything about it, your service was so slow. It was a special night for us and for me to make complaints about the food would have spoiled our night even more.

Visited this weekend for some pizzas. Service was outstanding the waitress Amy was a breath of fresh air so chirpy and happy it made the whole experience of eating out pleasurable unlike other places with miserable waiting staff. What an asset to your team she is. Made a fuss of the kids too.

Came at lunchtime today with 8 work colleagues, Had a wonderful meal enjoyed by all of us and had to try the cocktails as well. Chloe was our server today and she was exceptional. All 9 of us would like you to pass on our sincere thanks to her - she new the menu and was chatty and cheerful. We paid by card and left her a tip we hope she receives it all. Definitely be booking again

We had a lovely meal - it was really busy for the staff, they had big parties in, but they were really kind and courteous and kept us updated on wait time. The lady serving us, Dani, was lovely. Definitely be back!

Waitress Amy was very good, clearly embarrassed at the poor response times from the kitchen. The food itself was fine when we eventually got it, but as a family group of 6 we would have preferred and expected to eat our meals at the same time. We have eaten here several times before without cause for complaint.

Beware of the deals. Steak and drink Thursday £9.95. I didn't want the drinks offered so I ordered just the steak and a separate soft drink saving them a drink. After an average but edible meal I was charged full price for the steak £11.90 and the £2.35 for my drink (which I accept) WORK THAT OUT? I PAID AN EXTRA £1.95 FOR THE STEAK WITHOUT THE FREE DRINK. shame, won't back for that alone. That's just a scam however you try to explain it. If the steak had been good I'd not have bothered with the review but it was poor.

Absolutely disgraceful. Limited menu, as we're not informed when booking that there was a reduced choice on a Sunday menu. Even with the reduced choice they had ran out of several meals, especially the Sunday roast. For goodness sake one of the busiest days of the year. Fathers day.

Ordered our food, then took about 45 minutes to arrive even tho the place was empty. When the food did arrive it was not very nice, strangely the powdered instant mash tasted more like potatoes than the actual roasters did. And now a few hours of eating this garbage my stomach is in bits. I haven't been here for a few years but I always remembered the food to be pretty good quality for pub food so god knows what happened. I just wish I read the reviews on Facebook before I went because I heard the Christmas day dinner was awful as well. I guess it's my own fault because when you walk into a restaurant on a Sunday afternoon and there is only about 2 other tables with people eating I should really be turning around and getting the hell out of there.

Food took over 45 minutes to come whilst we watched others get served and several members of staff collect their own food. The table next to us ordered starters ate them and finished their mains before our food came. No one ventured over to our table to explain the delay. There was us and one other table of customers (all the others were staff!). When the food arrived the gravy on my plate had so much grease in it (from the anaemic hardly cooked “roast” potatoes). I had to leave most of the meal. The carrots were dried and looked as if they were cooked at first service and left in the hot hold. The mash had formed a thick skin that made it seem as though it sat under a heat lamp for at least 20 minutes. We received no check back to the table, I am completely disheartened by this visit and will not be returning. I have advised friends and family who would normally use yourselves for event meals to book elsewhere to avoid disappointment. Such a shame as we have previously used yourselves often!
