Sadly disappointed…. Only because it used to be (visit Kenilworth 3 or 4 times a year) so different to ‘any other pub’ with its menu offerings I think 🤔 (please forgive vagueness) the previous proprietor was from the Philippines 🇵🇭 and the food offerings were truly wonderful. Now, as I understand it, post LOCK DOWN new management and ‘standard issue’ pub food offerings. We were a group of five… at 7:30pm not late…we all chose steak 🥩…. Only three available … not a good start. Food was good and the staff were helpful…. Pleasant garden setting BUT it used to be so special. Now it’s just ordinary 😳 accepting lovely Kenilworth 👍…. Nothing to write home 🏡 about. Sad 😔

Best place I came to on my trip to Coventry, took a drive down to this very old pub and I was greeted with the most warm welcome ever. We were served by a lovely lady called Gwen, ever so hospitable and warm. The highlight of the day was the absolutely delicious food, we had the rump steak and a seafood platter, everything was delicious! I look forward to coming here again.

The service here is A1 with recommendations on mixers, spirits and meals. Ordered Bath tub gin with house tonic, which was amazing and the peppercorn was 👌🏾 Ordered the steak, well done, and it was so tender. Loved it! Only downside was that we weren’t told what time the kitchen closed so we didn’t get a chance to order dessert, and after finding out there were no meat pies available, it was yet another bad news that wasn’t appreciated

It is the oldest public house in Kenilworth. Has that relaxed oldie worldie feel about it.

Went for Sunday lunch as a small group, we all had the slow roasted pork belly which was absolutely divine! Came with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, carrots and leek & cabbage. We ordered a portion of cauliflower cheese, parsnips, stuffing and pigs in blankets to go alongside the usual trimmings which we shared. We left absolutely stuffed! Despite living in kenilworth for nearly 5 years it was my first time visiting, so looking forward to coming again!

Great pub with an extensive menu. We visited on a Wednesday night so there weren’t many people in but that was fine for us. Waiters/waitresses were attentive without being overbearing, food arrived within a reasonable time. Prices are on the higher side - I chose the cauliflower steak which cost the same price as the sea bass or a steak but sadly did not deliver on taste - can’t help feeling that this was a vegan tax.

The building is a nice classic pub, the drinks taste as you’d expect. I had a pie of the day but the meat sadly tasted like the pie of the month as it had been over cooked with no taste. If I ever eat here again I would choose a steak or fish so I know it’s fresh food. The prices would suggest a good grade meal. Choose the pie and see if you agree 😅

Brilliant pub in old Kenilworth over 500 years old and an amazing find. Excellent cask beer, lovely Prosecco and great prices and when we arrived we surprised to find a mini beer festival event. All the staff were lovely as were the very friendly locals who welcome both my fiancé and I but also my 5 year old whippet Paulo. Special thanks to Stephen for the cask beer service, his friendliness and absolutely 1st class approach to hospitality. Good luck with the Kitchen Fitting apprenticeship young man you will be a massive success. What a fantastic couple of hours we enjoyed. Cheers

The pie of the day hit the spot!! After a long day of work this pub was super welcoming and served up an amazing pie with veg and gravy. The staff were friendly and polite.

I had the Leek and Potato soup to start which was lovely, then Coq au vin for main. It was very nice, but i have had it before with stronger richer flavours. Staff were great, friendly and attentive. Thhe atmosphere was very pleasant for midweek. My partner was a bit disappointed with her Vegetarian main course, which was very overpriced for what it was. This was discussed with the waitress and a duscount applied.

Oldest pub in town dating back to Tudor times. Supposed haunt of many historic notables including Shakespeare. The menu is simple and seasonal. Food is excellent. The range of beers is good.

Decent selection of drinks; Everards ales, a respectable brand (Tiger is best). Haven’t had meals but for starters, go for ploughman’s rather than the fried stuff. Nice back garden with big telly for your sports fan.

Had breakfast here, ordered a full English (eggs, tomato, beans, sausage, bacon, bread, black pudding) with scrambled eggs. Breakfast took 50 minutes (I was there at 11am on a Saturday, there were about 7 other people in the pub). When I got the food, the eggs were fried and the black pudding was missing. The order was rectified after mentioning it. Wouldn't come here for breakfast again. Slow service, problems when i did get it, london prices (the full English in the picture costs £11.50 lol). Update: just seen there's some pictures from the owner of a full English that looks nothing like the one I ordered. Marking this down from a 3 to a 2.

Great atmosphere in this pub. Food is amazing and has a great outside heated area. Staff are all very friendly

Great ales and food in a quirky old building - a number of separate rooms of varying sizes. Staff friendly and welcoming, and you can feel the history (Queen Elizabeth's Handmaidens were billeted there during her visit to Kenilworth hundreds of years ago...). Also noted for a lot of great community initiatives, so very deserving of support....

We visited for family bank holiday lunch. On being seated we were given a very limited menu with a choice of 4 or 5 burgers. When we asked for a more comprehensive menu we were given one, but were told that it was a ‘limited’ menu. But even that wasn’t great 😐 The food itself was ok, but £105 for 4 burgers and 4 sausage rolls seems very expensive. I didn’t complain, because there was nothing wrong with the food, but I won’t be going back any time soon. Perhaps the fact that this pub was very quiet on an otherwise-busy bank holiday in Kenilworth should have told me something.

Enjoyable meal in a nice and friendly place. Marked down as took half an hour for my food to come (after I prompted) and it was pricey

My colleague hosted his birthday party in this pub. It’s located in a beautiful area. Food was toothsome and delicious.

Excellent pub, very interesting variety of different rooms and areas to sit or mingle. Great beers and cocktail menu. Wish I'd eaten there, the food looked and smelled amazing. Added a photo of 1 of the smaller rooms, was bright and cool in the summer with an open window looking out onto the street. I bet it's cozy in the winter too.

Had a batch of sandwiches for lunch plus a half pint of Sunchaser which was very refreshing. Staff very friendly, especially the lad behind the bar serving us the drinks! Visited after looking around Kenilworth Castle. Highly recommend the pub. It's very spacious inside

👍👍 One of the best Sunday roasts I have had in a long time. I ordered the pork, mostly for the crackling (which didn't disappoint). The portion sizes were very substantial and it came with a great variety of vegetables. You order via an app and the food came very quickly. It is a bit of an odd set-up a...
