Great place to visit for walks with friends/family! Great walks around the lake/through the woods, play areas for kids etc. There are toilets. Parking is a little expensive, but worth it for a nice afternoon

Visited here in mid October to photograph fungi in Ryton Woods. Well waymarked trails and interesting walks.....plus a fantastic variety of fungi!! £4 for 4 hours parking, but could easily have spent longer here. Lots to see and do. Highly recommended.

Dog friendly. Lots of trails off the main route. Today we went on a stroll round the figure of eight walk. Plenty of parking and the café to get some refreshments.

I have just bought the season ticket for the car park as it works out cheaper as I use this a lot during the summer. Harriet, my UNHINGED owner takes me for my daily walk (TECHNICALLY DRAGGING ME). I don’t get to decide where I go as I am normally the one you see being dragged around the pool, chasing ducks, trying to swim and then gets freaked out by the Massive dogs in the field next door (Harriet does not know what a horse is!!) The staff in the Information very nice and helpful. Same about the cafe. The rangers were very helpful when I needed help about parking. Great for kids too. I have taken my son up there a few times and he enjoys it (Not when he’s holding Harriet) I ride my bike there too and it offers a few routes. I did come a cropper as I went into the local woods (Offsite from Ryton Pool) and went on a bike path that got slimmer and slimmer the further I went and when I stopped because of the stinging nettles I could not turn my bike around. I had to reverse and now I have stung ankles as I wore shorts (NOT LYCRA). It’s quiet and has plenty of stops and I’m sure people are not aware of how big that place is. Fully recommend it.

Really lovely walk with my almost two year old. She loved the play park and loved walking freely. We took some seeds and fed the ducks which she was excited about. I highly recommend this place.

The miniature railway which is open on Sundays and bank holidays is a must do for kids. £1 a ride (cash only) and great people running it makes it a fun thing to do. The rest of the park is lovely, there is loads of parking, bikes for hire, playgrounds and a cafe. You do have to pay for parking but you can pay by card. It's a great day out

Went there on my off day for a walk. A very nature friendly place. The sounds of wind, bird chirps and water made my day. If you feel like going to a very peaceful and calm place, then I suggest you go there.

Great place to take the kids and dogs. Pay and display car park, cafe on site and a big play area for the kids. We always take a picnic as plenty of places to sit and eat. Lots to explore around the pools. Great for all the family.

Took my little boy last weekend and he loved it as haven't been there for years. Easy parking and contactless parking was easy. Loads of picnic tables dotted around and play areas so plenty to see and do. Haven't given 5 star as not tried the cafe and shop as heard a lot of negative reviews. But overall very happy and going again this weekend. 👍

I have been visiting Ryton Pools since I was a little girl and now take my little boys. This is a fabulous place, lots of beautiful countryside which has been made accessible for those with buggies / wheelchairs etc. The terrain is a little rugged in places but easily navigated. Good car parking and you can pay with card Fabulous outside picnic space, great play area which is covered with foliage to make it shady Nice toilets in the cafe area with another play zone Cake was nice but pretty expensive for someone aimed at children and being accessible to all, however that's probably why they have made it spenny There is a railway here for children and we saw the man undertaking maintence and it looked great Check it out it's a great place

Great time with the family, lots of parks and the bikes are worth a go, rental for 30mins for one for the kids to sit in and 3 bikes was under £20 which I think is reasonable and more than enough time, will be back to go on the model railway soon! Update 15/04 Decided to go for another visit to Ryton Pools, with it being a bank holiday (Easter Break) it was quite busy, but not so much that the kids had to wait for anything or couldn't have a turn, we rented out 2 x carry on bikes and a ladies bike because the kids are getting bigger and they were great as usual, the seats are a bit hard so have a few breaks to take in the scenery to break it up, we had 30 mins again which is plenty time to get round a couple of routes. The train was also working and was only £1 each and worth a go for the kids, parking was £3 for 2hrs and think that was plenty of time otherwise I think it increases to the next bracket for another pound which would be 3 -4 hrs. Will be back again when the weather is warm and bright.

this park has everything based on our family needs :D it's close to our house and has a big car park area. The playground is very nice, our tot loves playing in it since it uses a pirates theme. Our son would always try his best to open the treasure chest in the playground so we got to tell him to find the key. By that trick, he is willing to walk around the park with us. There's also a pond that would seem fun to visit during summer because the kids can even do science activity on the spot. And if you're hungry, there's a cafe serving nice coffee, meals and even ice cream!

Great place for a day out, loads of parking about £4 for 4 hours, lovely cafe that doe hot and cold food and drinks. A few walks, bike hire and a couple of nice play grounds for kids. You can have kids bday parties here too, great for taking the dog too. Would recommend you check it out

Was a lovely walk, easy to get lost but the trials can be retraced and a new path can be taken! So was more fun then a bother! Would 100% recommend for dog walkers but there will a lot of open water routs that can be harmful to dogs so don’t let them swim or drink it!

We came here for a family day out. Lovely place to visit with bike hire, cafe, toilets and playgrounds. Plenty of trails to explore. Our grandchildren loved the den building area. Very dog friendly and we took our 6 month old Guide Dog puppy in training

Nice walk and a couple of decent parks along the route as well for the little ones. It is not the latest ngest walk we took the longest route and made it around including the woods in less than 2 hours. Parking charges summer 2023: Up to 2 hours: £3.30 2-4 hours: £4.40

We really like this place. On Sundays they have mini train ride open. Everyone can ride. They have two play areas. One near the entrance. The other one near the pond. If you don't want to walk too much, you can park right till the very end of car park. The most crowded car park is right at the beginning of the park. But if you take a left turn from there, you can drive all the way till lake.

Ryton pools is a great place to go for a relaxing walk in the fresh air and to see some large pools, ducks and wildlife. The paths are gravel/stoney so won't get muddy.theres a play area for kids to enjoy and usually an ice cream van there if the kids have been good haha. There plenty of car parking space with several car parks which you do have to pay for price depending on how long your there. Theres also a visitor centre if I remember rightly and toilet facilities just as you go in.If you explore further you'll find a wood which you can walk through if feeling more adventurous lol.If your thinking off bringing a picnic then there plenty off picnic benches dotted around. I've been many many times and sure will go many more in the future.

Attended a wreath making workshop with my daughter. First time of doing this, all equipment supplied with very clear instructions on how to create the wreath. Decorate to your choice with lots of different foliage available plus other items. Warming drink and warm mince pie was very welcome. Facilities very good really fun morning reasonably priced definitely recommend. Plenty of parking with parking fees reasonable.

Visited on Monday and Tuesday and I loved it. The park is great and the woodlands are so so beautiful. Cannot believe I didn’t know this place existed half an hour away from me. A great place to escape, in the woods it feels like your in the middle of nowhere! Would urge anyone to go and visit! Really friendly staff in the cafe, we had ice creams which were delicious.

Took granddaughter for a wonderful trip to Ryton Pools, fantastic day, the play parks are great fun, lots of open space to run around, a chance to feed the ducks. Only drawback at the moment the train is not running. Great day out x

One of my favourite places to go for a walk. It's about 2 miles to go all the way around the two pools but there is so much more to see than that. The forest has multiple trails to go through and many things to see. The park as a whole is home to many creatures and makes for a truly wonderful day out.
