The
restaurant
is
very
good,
however,
the
hotel
which
used
to
be
a
great
place
to
stay
is
going
down
hill
very
fast.
Pre
COVID
I
was
a
very
regular
visitor
and
the
staff
were
always
friendly
and
professional.
Since
the
end
of
COVID
I
have
stayed
there
3
times.
It’s
now
very
difficult
to
speak
to
someone
at
the
hotel,
calls
go
via
a
Greene
King
call
center,
staffing
levels
have
gone
down
and
although
the
staff
are
still
friendly
you
can
tell
they
are
overworked.
The
previous
time
I
stayed
I
had
no
hot
water
for
the
3
days
I
was
there.
When
I
explained
to
the
reception
desk
the
problem
I
received
a
promise
to
fix
it
and
free
dinner
that
night,
the
dinner
was
great
but
no
repair
was
made
(the
reception
staff
forgot)
so
hot
water
for
the
rest
of
my
stay
and
no
option
to
switch
rooms
as
they
were
fully
booked.
I
took
a
chance
booked
to
stay
again
last
week,
with
hindsight
it
wasn’t
the
right
decision.
On
checking
in
I
provided
my
UK
£
credit
card
to
pay
the
bill
to
be
told
I’d
already
been
charged
on
my
€
card
(I
live
in
Spain).
Not
only
that
but
I
had
been
charged
incorrectly
leading
to
various
additional
adjustment
currency
fees.
Two
days
later
when
I
saw
the
credit
card
charges
I
had
also
been
charged
twice,
with
even
more
currency
exchange
charges
and
today
when
I
got
the
refund,
I
lost
out
again
on
both
the
fix
and
more
charges.
From
the
hotel
I
received
a
note
telling
me
that
they
had
refunded
the
double
charging
but
no
mention
of
the
fees
and
fx
costs.
My
suggestion,
go
for
dinner,
enjoy
the
pub
but
miss
the
hotel.
