Stay away. The location is amazing, the atmosphere is perfect, but the management staff is terrible (except one very nice lady) The stuff has brutally humiliated us as a family. Our rooms are not being cleaned for 5 days! We’ve been totally shamed. Terrible experience. Stay away!!

My most recent experience wasn't as good as my previous visits. The hotel itself was as good as ever, it was the restaurant that let it down. All staff here were as great as always. It's clean, good value and a pleasant place to stay. Customer facing staff here are great. On this latest occasion, whoever was pretending to be a chef, produced 4 absolutely sub standard meals for our evening dinner. The vegetables were actually cold, not even warm let alone hot. The supposed salads were just limp lettuce. My steak at £16.00 was like a lump of warm wood. In the morning a different chef was on duty (female). We were informed that they had not had a delivery so we're short of food. We expected the worse but were given a huge and excellent hot full English breakfast. The chef actually came to see us at our table to apologise which we were grateful for and who we thanked for an excellent breakfast. Whoever is now managing this hotel, needs to get a grip. Fire the useless chef and roast your suppliers over their failures.

Stayed here with work. Room was a good size, overlooking the stream, and was clean. Looks a bit tired in places but couldn't fault the comfy bed and how quiet it was. Food in the restaurant was lovely and the waiter was great, however it took a long time to arrive at the table and didn't arrive together, so half the party had finished before the remainder were served. They were exceptionally busy though for a Wednesday night. Overall I would stay again as was good value for money

Room was stinking of smoke from the person in the room below us …to the point it woke us in the night! The smoke alarm obvs don’t work and people know it! Wine was corked at dinner, there was no (Sunday) roasts left, the server was a nice guy tho and all other staff seemed decent too

Nice stay at Old Mill except night reception. Needs to be revised. Except that, good people, good food, good room, good beers. Good everything.

Scrumptious soya belly pork. The Atlantic Cod is also very nice. The thing that really stands out is the service. We specifically went to this pub because it is part of the Chef & Brewers chain, and it did not disappoint.

I really really like this hotel! it's in a lovely location, really pretty to look at. The rooms are very generous and comfortable with lovely decor, and the staff are excellent .. the only reason I haven't given it 5 stars for rooms is that the place could do with the little bit of a re-paint and maintenance here and there. It took me ages to shut my bedroom window as the catch is very sticky..

Nice quite place. Lots of space in the car park. Nice to sit outside in the warmer weather next to the river but the sun disappeared early on in Autumn. Rooms are really nicely spacious and was really impressed. Pub is dog friendly but a bit weird that dogs were on the seats. There is a large restaurant with designated seats that you can book into. The restaurant was very empty and the pub area was busy. I would change this personally if it was up to me. The question is…..would I stay again? and I am not sure. I hope there is something better in the area, but it is okay. Not sure that Chef and Brewer is quite an accurate description.

Lovely staff, more than adequate pub grub and good value room. Can't fault it at the price.

Not the best. Shabby building, dirty toilets, some staff great but others a little dim. Food was OK though.

Best spot for Sunday roast. Generally the food is amazing but not alot of options in the daily menu.

Large quiet room overlooking the stream. Comfy bed. Good shower. Good food served by cheerful staff. Friendly atmosphere. Well stocked bar. Plenty of parking and close to road network, yet quiet location.

Stayed here for work recently. Staff were very friendly and the room was nice too. Nothing fancy but pleasant enough. Had a nice view out over the water. Dinner was delicious and reasonably priced. The waitress was very lovely and exceptionally patient as we all had to split the bill in a bit of a complicated way. Had the eggs royale for breakfast in the morning - but wasn’t impressed. The egg whites were not entirely cooked and the salmon wasn’t fresh.

The hotel is in a beautiful location and very peaceful about 10 minutes by car from Coventry but the uber driver didn't know where it was but his satnav got us here just fine

The restaurant is very good, however, the hotel which used to be a great place to stay is going down hill very fast. Pre COVID I was a very regular visitor and the staff were always friendly and professional. Since the end of COVID I have stayed there 3 times. It’s now very difficult to speak to someone at the hotel, calls go via a Greene King call center, staffing levels have gone down and although the staff are still friendly you can tell they are overworked. The previous time I stayed I had no hot water for the 3 days I was there. When I explained to the reception desk the problem I received a promise to fix it and free dinner that night, the dinner was great but no repair was made (the reception staff forgot) so hot water for the rest of my stay and no option to switch rooms as they were fully booked. I took a chance booked to stay again last week, with hindsight it wasn’t the right decision. On checking in I provided my UK £ credit card to pay the bill to be told I’d already been charged on my € card (I live in Spain). Not only that but I had been charged incorrectly leading to various additional adjustment currency fees. Two days later when I saw the credit card charges I had also been charged twice, with even more currency exchange charges and today when I got the refund, I lost out again on both the fix and more charges. From the hotel I received a note telling me that they had refunded the double charging but no mention of the fees and fx costs. My suggestion, go for dinner, enjoy the pub but miss the hotel.

Rooms are getting old but that did not bother me. The staff were brilliant from start to finish. Extremely helpful, friendly and a massive credit to the business. Many thanks for making my stay a memorable pleasant occasion.

Wow facteur when you arrive, the pub is just gorgeous, the staff are all amazing, the rooms are what you want, need, big comfy bed, great hot power shower, thick soft towels, and over looking a garden and tree's, but 2minutes from the main roads. Evening meal was really nice, and breakfast excellent. Thanks everyone for a great stay. We'll be back.
