First impressions were good until, I made the walk to my room. The corridor was littered with many dirty towels and cutlery/plates etc. The hallway carpets looked filthy and worn. Outside the room next door there were plates with food on them when I arrived at 2:30pm, this was outside the room at 8:30am the following morning!! The anecdote - which is the bar they have linked to their room service had very bland food (I had burger and chips - glad it came with sauces). Even the chips were bland. The bed was hard, rather than a medium firmness and the pillows unsatisfactory. There was a long hair on the bed, obviously not mine as mine is not of that colour. Thermostat difficult to use - no instructions. I managed to get my room freezing instead of warming it up - found manual on google for it, then it started to warm up when I knew how! Thank goodness I had a hot water bottle with me! Only stayed a night and will never stay again! Shower head was grimey. Underside of toilet seat disgusting. Positives - The reception man was extremely helpful and genuinely nice. The room was a good size, supplied with iron and ironing board for extra convenience. Smart bathroom. Lovely breakfast with great selection and many choices.

The pitch view room is great. I love it. But I am very torn between give this hotel 3 stars or 4 stars. The staff are friendly, the breakfast is great, and the pitch view is wonderful. However, there is always a but. My feelings towards this hotel is that the room is good sized. But, the bathroom is horribly small, and the design is somewhat between a 2 stars hotel and a 3 stars hotel. The shower cubicle is small and you can hardly move around. I feel sorry for this hotel. The design of the room is good and the size is decent. But I personally think the bathroom is important. The next reason I only give 3 stars is that the other DoubleTree in Coventry has coffee pod machine in the room which is very nice and convenient. It is not to say this hotel is not nice. However I feel this hotel lag behind a bit in terms of facilities.

Not good. Hot day, AC not working in both our rooms, windows don't open. From other reviews, seems like this is a long term issue. WiFi not working. Bit of a theme on things not working. Rooms and rest of hotel needs a refurb and repaint. Woken up at 715 to workmen outside by 2nd floor room installing things to outside of hotel/arena with hammers, etc. Didn't need any more sleep, honest. Not impressed, cut 2 night visit short and checked in elsewhere....

We was upgraded to a pitch view which was fantastic as we was there to watch the Scotland v Australia rugby match . The room was comfy and spacious the staff were very professional and we was made to feel very welcome . Exceptionally clean and a really easy place to get to .

Stayed here for a rugby game. Took a long time to check-in. Our room on the 2nd floor was OK but in need of some paint and TLC. The staff in the hotel bar were pleasant but had lack of experience and had not heard of some drinks like port. Breakfast in the hotel was good although at 0930 when we went in they had ran out of bacon, sausages and mushrooms. Had to wait about 10 minutes for them to replenish.

This is a bit of a weird Hilton as itā€™s in the stadium. I stayed on a match day so parking was a bit of a nightmare but Iā€™m okay with that as itā€™s to be expected. Itā€™s more that the hotel is dated and walking around it is a bit clunky, such as the lifts feeling like a staff lift and the walk to breakfast a bit disjointed. My status was recognised on check in where I was upgraded and there was a lovely surprise of treats in my room. Couple this with the friendly reception and breakfast team and this outweighs the random layout and dated feel in the communal areas. I probably wouldnā€™t stay again as I checked online and there didnā€™t appear to be a match, yet there was, so I would avoid the future stress! But the team were lovely.

A modern large hotel, parking extra. Part of the arena with casino next door, some rooms right next to stadium with full pitch view. Great breakfast and pleasant staff. A few minor room issues but worth a visit. Easy taxi ride for about Ā£10 into Coventry.

The room is backed on to the arena. The arena room door didn't shut properly, there was still feathers in corners of bathroom and bedroom from the Harry styles concert. Tiny showers. Hard bed but staff great.

The room itself was fine, very spacious and it was rather unique to have a view of the pitch. The bathroom was basic, and the design of the communal spaces was disappointing. I also didnā€™t feel the service at the reception was particularly great at resolving some booking mix up.

Stayed one night. Check in was quick, staff was friendly. Parking is payable and was Ā£7. The room we stayed in was great with a comfy bed and all amenities you would expect. The actual shower was a bit tiny but fine. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. Would stay again.

The warm welcome at reception, the rooms, the breakfast all make ghis a great place. Warm cookies when you check in just add to the flavour. The sports bar/ Anecdote restaurant attached is lovely for a meal and drink. Parking, albeit paid, is ample. Even on a match day I had no problems with parking or in the hotel itself.

Have stayed here several times while visiting Coventry for work and have always had a good experience. The staff are very friendly, professional and I enjoy the extra touch of a welcome cookie at check-in. The rooms vary in size but even the smallest I've stayed in has been very spacious, clean and comfortable. However it is worth noting that some of the rooms can be quite a long walk from the only guest accessible lift (that I am aware of) which is located at the reception. The corridors can also get quite crowded when a match is on, as I found out this week. Breakfast offers a good range of delicious hot food, continental style dishes, and very nice coffee which can be made into a takeaway cup if you are in a hurry. Overall I always enjoy my stays at the arena hotel, and I look forward to my next visit.

Second visit here. Upgraded to a room with pitch view. The Anecdote bar serves food, although service was slow. Breakfast was really good.

Booked this hotel for me and partner and the hotel staff were amazing! I could not fault them, Kim at reception did his upmost best to do everything he could for us and even decorated the room for my partners birthday, Amy also helped me find my room as I got abit lost! The room was spacious clean and had everything we needed and the view was amazing, we had the pitch view room, thank you to everyone who made this an amazing stay, would definitely book again.

Do not stay here. Absolutely shocking and an absolute nightmare. I cannot begin to explain the quality of the dirty outdated rooms. Stayed for 7 nights and we had a broken toilet seat, leaking shower all over the floor and into the room, ac didnā€™t work, dirty bed with hair on it, and green marked snot on pillows. We had to lay our own clothes on the bed as honestly we were itching all night. absolutely disgusted and eventually after a few nights they moved us into a room but exactly the same dirty, broken toilet, leaking bathtub, unclean bed sheets. We just gave up in the end as dealing with the staff was so intimidating. There was also a broken lift the entire time there meaning we had to pull our luggage up every flight of stairs even with asthma no consideration given. I have stayed in many Hiltonā€™s before and this hotel is no way near to even a 3 start standard. I had to deal with hostility from the workers and cleaners. It has now been 2 weeks and I have been dealing with the manager and Hilton guest assistance who have been so unhelpful and ignorant in my matter. They are now completely ignoring all emails and not responding. Do not book with third party as they will treat you like a peasant and will deflect any responsibility, by law which is not permissible. I am now seeking advice from other services in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to file a dispute and go through ADR process instead . Please save yourself the stress and anxiety and do not book here.

Rooms couldn't cope with hot weather, air con and tower fans did nothing, excellent breakfast even though had too prove twice I booked breakfast it was not on there system apparently? I had 3 rooms booked all had signs of staines on walls and carpets. Enjoyed pitch view rooms.

Stayed for a week for business. The hvac was not working and froze the first night and the eventually they gave me a floor heater which noisy, remote did work, etc. Then Toilet water was leaking and running 24 hrs. It was noisy to sleep. Asked for changing room etc but they were fully booked. Then asked for 30 min late check out and I was refused. So ridiculous honestly.

I loved my stay here. The staff were all wonderful and ready to provide for all our needs. Despite a football game happening nearby we didnā€™t hear a thing and the ambience of the area and the hotel is wonderful. The room was spacious and the bed was so comfortable, I slept like a baby.

Lovely space. Rooms are being upgraded but no evidence of building work where I was. Lifts did fail on the Sunday but 2 flights of stairs aren't an issue. Fantastic view of the pitch from my room

Honestly a pretty rubbish customer experience. I know it was a matchday but security guards were everywhere, and we were constantly being challenged every time we tried walking around the hotel, stairwells and other corridors, leading to a very stressful experience. Noting also the ridiculous number of CCTV cameras, means that this hotel feels far more like a prison than somewhere you'd want to visit. If it wasn't for the intrigue and novelty of it being in a stadium then I would probably give this experience 1 star out of 5. Plus, the welcome cookie and room biscuits are not vegan, which is shockingly retrograde considering everything that we know in the year 2023... Sort yourselves out.

Very impressed with the quality of this hotel. Was served by the wonderful gentleman named Kim, he gave me a free complimentary cookie which tasted delicious. I am happy with the service and would definitely come back again.

Nice hotel, stayed here for an event at the NEC which is just a short drive from the hotel. Its a really quiet hotel until Match days, which are a bit crazy but once the crowds have gone it's back to normal. Breakfast was really nice too

Had an amazing stay with my partner. The room needs a bit of TLC with a lick of paint but the bed was so comfy! The breakfast was really well organised and great selection as well!!

Staff super helpful and friendly. The suite given to us had two roll top baths in. Felt completely spoilt which was perfect for a birthday treat for my partner. Will definitely book again :)

Stayed here on Friday 17/6/22, the night of our wedding. Arrived after our reception to find no air con on the hottest day of the year, toilet didn't flush, no tea/coffee facilities. If it wasn't for the fact we were so tired after our wedding we'd have gone home.

Lovely and helpful staff. Lovely rooms. Only downside it had was the lack of drink making facilities in the bedrooms. Everyone likes a cup of tea or coffee first thing in morning. My room didn't have these facilities. Breakfast was lovely.

What you would expect, check in seemed a bit long but room is good and spacious. On site Anecdote is nice and shuffle board is a good laugh. Small update. For a brand/chain the breakfast isnā€™t up to standard. Only one coffee machine means queues build up when busy, also quality of cooked option isnā€™t up to standard of other Hilton hotels, options limited too, only scrambled eggs.

Hotel & room were great, limited choice of food options for evening meal, also we weren't told about the car ref needing to be registered with reception and so the parking was charged at normal rates and not hotel rates

Nice hotel in the Wasps Stadium / CBS Arena. Very warm welcome from reception team, with warm cookies on arrival. Massive Twin Queen Bed room which was accessible. Described as deluxe, but I would say that it's a push to describe it as deluxe - bathroom needed a good deep clean, discoloured tile grout and slightly grimy bathroom was a bit disappointing. Comfy beds with plenty of pillows. Lots of noise from adjoining rooms, who weren't particularly heavy footed. Sleep was also interrupted by a car alarm of a taxi in the hotel drop off which went on for about an hour at 3am - so the windows weren't very good at keeping noise out. Nice on-site restaurant / sports bar. Breakfast in the morning was generously decked out, bacon, scrambled eggs and mushrooms were disappointing, but chef can cook an excellent poached egg. Also plenty of continental options including cereals, pastries, muffins and breads and jams.

Nice room ..clean, tidy and everything worked. Breakfast was "ok" (although, no orange juice seems a bit odd...pineapple, apple and I think grapefruit instead) but as someone who doesn't eat meat the range of hot foot was minimal......i.e. no alternative to meat just the things that meat eaters would have minus the meat....but uninspiring. Overall though I'd happily stay again.....just nothing to positively rave about (for me)

Lovely hotel to stay at. I was playing in a poker tournament in the casino(that's on site]. When I checked in, I was charged Ā£8 parking. I later found out that if you use the casino, parking is free. So beware of the parking charge.

Absolutely cracking hotel. The rooms were amazing with a wonderful view of the pitch and a very comfy bed. The breakfast was excellent everyday. Special mention goes to Autumn on reception who was so helpful, friendly and went that extra mile to help. All the hotel staff were great and welcoming. Can't wait to go back next year for the Spatex show.

Lovely spacious rooms and you're especially lucky if you get a pitch view. The room itself was very clean which is great. The reception staff were friendly and the warm cookie on arrival was a nice touch. Train station 5 mins walk away.

Large clean rooms. We were given 2 fresh warm cookies by reception as we checked in. Only fault I can give is you can hear other guests talking in the hallway from the room. That said I still would stay here again

Before coming with friends, we read a lot of reviews about local hotels, and unfortunately most of them were not very nice. We had discussions about where to stay because we didn't want to spoil our holiday. Finally, we opted for this hotel and as it turned out, we made the right choice. This hotel suited us in all respects, ranging from reasonable price, convenient location and very nice rooms. We booked two standard rooms. Despite the budget status of the hotel rooms were clean and well maintained. Furniture, appliances, everything was in working order, very clean linen.

Nice modern clean and spacious room. Only complaint was that it was very cold. Even with the air con set to 30 degrees the room didn't warm up. Good breakfast although shame the coffee machine was broken. Great breakfast service from the waitress with the red hair. Room rate of Ā£160 for family room

Rooms were clean, comfy and spacious. Some rooms are a little way from the reception, but to be expected when a hotel runs around the first floor of a stadium. Mine was over a third of the way round and only took 4 mins. The staff were absolutely superb! I spoke to 4 front desk staff (as stayed for 2 nights and kept coming in and out) and 2 of the housekeeping team (once when I locked myself out of my room and once on check out) and every single one of them was friendly, could not be more helpful and genuinely seemed happy to talk to the guests. Top marks go to Joe in the housekeeping team, who saw I was not having a fun time with the bags on the way out and carried them out to the car with me. Had a smile on his face the entire time. A lovely weekend away and would definitely stay here again when I'm next in the Midlands.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff. The separate bar/restaurant was very nice to relax and chill in. I requested a room with a pitch view, which was lovely, there were no matches on, so was very quiet. The breakfast I would highly recommend and the service was very good. The car park was situated a little bit away from the hotel, but no problems parking and costs Ā£8 for 24 hours, which you pay for when checking in. Overall a lovely experience and would go back in the future.

The hotel is in a good location and the reception and bar area are really nice. The room was tired and the bathroom unclean with dirt and mould on the shower. The in room dining was delivered quickly and by lovely staff but the food was poor quality and my pudding had a large hair in it.

  • 4/5 Andrew H. 1 year ago on Google
This was a pretty nice hotel in a reasonable location. We had a few minor issues during our 3 night stay, such as TV remote not working, adjoining room door being unlocked and ajar, and the room key being wiped multiple times, however, on the whole, our experience was a positive one. The room we were allocated was very spacious and the air conditioning worked faultlessly. The bathroom was small but perfectly serviceable (albeit in need of some minor TLC). The staff we encountered were mostly friendly and helpful. A massive shout out to the the hotel General Manager who, after numerous staff were hit by covid, stepped in to fulfil night porter duties. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice modern hotel with on site restaurant and lift to most floors. Food at breakfast is nice with healthy options plus hot buffet. On site bar and restuarant again with good range of beers and food options. Car park is Ā£8 overnight payable at reception, make sure to register your vehicle!

Really tidy rooms which are both comfortable and modern šŸ‘nice to have a view of the pitch! Staff are friendly and parking is good for only Ā£8 Breakfast really tasty! šŸ˜‹ Could have done with a fridge ā˜¹ļø

Rooms are a great size just a shame they are utilised better. Bathroom is the smallest size one I've ever been in. Needs updating as well. Cleanliness isn't up to much and beds are very firm. Staff are an asset to this hotel and go above and beyond to help you.

Stayed in a pitch-view room on the 2nd floor. Very spacious and neat overall but the shower cubicle was small. We enjoyed out night away from the usual.

Although there were football games around you couldnā€™t hear a thing. Very spacious rooms with AC and heating and the most comfortable beds ever like I literally woke up and my eye bags were gone thatā€™s how good I slept. Very good service everyone is nice and I had a wonderful conversation with one of the staff that complimented my perfume. Also the food was genuinely excellent and everything was exceptionally clean. On entry and when leaving we got complimentary cookies that were one of the best cookies Iā€™ve ever had and there is a lot of local stores and restaurants walking distances away. This is all after a one night stay I would highly recommend even just for a little relaxation night.
