Like one of those westerns where you walk through the saloon door, everyone puts their beer down, and a bloke playing the piano stops playing

Don’t go. Main courses served with tinned vegetables not fresh. Presentation very poor. Deserts are awful, only ice cream was good. No 00 beer, no ordinary tonic, only slimline. Felt sorry for waitress as she was doing her best. Very few customers for a Saturday night, says it all. Should have left on arrival.

Food was lovely (sunday roast) but what I assume was the owner sits in the corner with his cronies staring at you when you order a drink. Bit of a pervy vibe if I'm being honest.

My family & I visited the Royal Oak this Sunday to celebrate my wife's birthday. We all had the Sunday roast & couldn't have wished for a better meal. The food was excellent, delicious & fantastic value for money. Just the same as good home cooking! The pub atmosphere was great & the service couldn't have been better. A big thank you to all the staff for making our day. We will definitely be back.

Good looking pub with decent, better than bar food, meals. Well worth the money. Clientelle are always friendly. Staff are always accommodating too.

I wanted to eat when I arrived around 8pm and no food available. There's a sign outside stating accommodation available: no such thing. Enjoyed a good pint and half of Guinness, and the young female bartender phoned a taxi for me. The satnav will take you on an undesirable route if walking from Anglian Way; beware of the tunnels

Really friendly atmosphere, great beer, and a lovely decor for you to enjoy anytime of day. Have a menu for some great food, and usually about £13 for a meal and a drink. Landlord is friendly along with the other staff... I will be back again..
