Popped in on the spur of the moment. Staff as always were very helpful and polite. Waitress was informative. The chef was extremely nice and chatty. The food was really tasty and plentiful, had the Traditional carvery. Will be coming back soon.

Amazing place amazing food , if you wane eat good and healthy you must go there me and my husband decide to try something eles I have never in my life eat such amazing pizza u must go there prices are amazing food amazing aaa and the best coffee is really hard for me to be happy with food and coffee they are the best I am being honest ! You must try there !! Friendly stuff everything is just perfect for sure we will be back there . I had spicy chicken was delicious my husband peproni and he was really happy as well happy tummy happy life x

Staff were friendly enough, service wasn't too bad. The food is just not amazing though! My mum ordered the gammon and when it came, it looked like it had been cooked days ago and was SO dry! I ordered a beef burger and it honestly just wasn't very nice, I've had nicer burgers in kebab shops. Overall, not the worst experience but definitely won't go back for food.

I went there with my dad to have breakfast. Excellent customer service especially from a waitress I think was named Nicole. She did a great job of making sure she provided the greatest customer service with a positive attitude and professionalism. Overall, great staff, affordable prices and great atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back !

My wife and I have lunch at The Tollgate fairly frequently. The carvery is excellent, one of the best that we have ever been to. A good range of vegetables are kept hot (but not dried-out) and the joints of meat are beautifully-cooked and (for the cost of the meal) generously carved (thanks Matthew!). The staff are friendly and couldn't be more helpful. All-in-all a most enjoyable experience - which is, I suppose, why we keep going back!

Brilliant service at the Tollgate today. I was served by Cam who was exceptional and set a superb example for others to follow. Carvery was so nice, the beef especially. 10/10 would definitely return!!!

Do. Not. Come. Here. Ordered via QR as instructed upon entry. Had to then join the queue at the bar 20 minutes later to ensure they’d got my order. 10 minutes later drinks arrived. I then watched my food hit the pass and sit going cold for 10 minutes. They then delivered the stone cold dish. I returned it and was asked “do you want a fresh one?” I’m now a further 10 minutes into waiting for my meal. Nothing yet. No customer service to speak of. Dreadful experience. It’s this bad…on a Wednesday. I will NEVER return and urge each and every one of you to avoid like the plague.

I’ve just left this place. Awful service but the food is beyond words, we ordered mains which took over 40 minutes, our starter came after we’d finished our mains.. our starter was the chick N Mix which I would assume contains chicken, whatever it was it wasn’t chicken it was grey and rubbery. Absolutely vile.. even the ice cream didn’t look right. Given the quality of the food I deserve a refund for the lot but just so we could get out fast enough we only pushed for a refund on the starter which we did get. Avoid this horrid place.

We had a lovely Sunday carvery and pudding at the Tollgate today. Food was amazing and our waitress Mia was fab-u-lous. Nothing was too much trouble and her sunny personality made our visit. Thank you

Absolutely diabolical service (from the management and supposed head chef, not the waiting staff) Table of 9 including three children and firstly the meals were not brought out together, in fact about an hour apart in total. Including one of the children's. The children should have been priority in my opinion but even if not, the whole table should have been served when ALL the food was ready! No apologies from the chef or anything. Also orders couldn't be met because they had run out of pizza dough, then one of the pizzas they could cook had been burnt so the child had to pick something else! The chef, JACOB who was apparently also the duty manager was heard to be saying 'I don't care' in full earshot of us all! When spoken to he was rude and obnoxious and dismissive. Asked us to leave for no reason as nobody was rude at all! Oh and also there was a hair (clearly a beard hair) in another of the children's dinners! Absolutely disgusting! The macaroni cheese was basically a packet from Aldi with a bit of not even melted grated cheese on top 🤢 We weren't expecting gourmet but simple service and food in a timely and edible fashion would have been a start! The bar/waiting staff called June, Libby and Justin were amazing and to be honest we felt sorry for them having to front our complaints. They deserve praise and probably more pay. Jacob however, the supposed manager was diabolical and didn't care at all. We all have bad days but in customer service you put on a face, pull up your big girl/boy pants and do your job. Frankly he doesn't deserve one and I'm sure the establishment could be brilliant if it wasn't for things such as this! Would give zero stars if it was an option!

Nice food! But service extremely slow at both the bar and carvery. Looked under staffed, and they concentrate on their take away service to the detriment of diners eating in.

If there was a zero star I'd give it. Absolute disgrace 40 minutes since ordered and we've been handed a plate of cold chips and that's it. Its empty so no excuses. Best the manager could do is ask if we wanted to continue waiting or get our money back. Completely gone down hill. Stay away.

It had obviously been a busy day, only turkey available at the carvery and no pigs in blankets. No gammon for pizzas. No gravy on carvery. Chocolate sauce ran out in ice cream machine. Pudding order lost and we had to chase it, Short staffed and phones ringing constantly. Staff there did there best but I would be in a hurry to return… compensation for the amount of food missing on the day would have been welcome.

Loads of parking. Easily accesible for my disabled grandmother. Emily and Cam were friendly and helpful. The carvery was hot and fresh. Everything was well stocked. The burgers were hot and juicy. Really good overall.

Tollgate has been a 5 star experience. When walking in, the staff were kind and took our order fast. We had a carvery and the food was excellent! Daniel who served us was amazing and provided the best and top quality service. At the end we had an ice cream from the bottomless machine, it was so tasty and made me wanting more. I will be back to Tollgate asap. Thank you all staff at Tollgate for an incredible experience!

After hiring the meeting room for the first time yesterday, I can honestly say that I am blown away. The staff are very attentive and friendly and the food is amazing! There is a really nice warm welcome as soon as you walk in. We will defiantly be booking here again. My only regret is that we haven't been here before! fantastic work by all the staff!

The girl that welcomed us was so polite and very welcoming, made us feel at home from the moment we walked in. The food was amazing as always. Very comfortable atmosphere with chilled music playing , great way to start the day. Excellent all round.

I was invited for a Christmas meal in a group of 30 Dec 23. I had heard mixed reviews but my experience was very good. I chose the carvery. The Turkey was cooked beautifully and everything was piping hot. A great meal and good value.

Attended a Pizza and Prosecco tasting night, staff couldn’t be more helpful. Very attentive and always willing to help. Pizza was great…. And the Prosecco too

Let's start with the soda's, advertised as really nice, served not so. Lime & Mint apparently garnished with a slice of lime & mint leaf, either no where to be seen. I ordered a burger but they were those cheap burgers you get from the chip shop & my bacon was cremated to almost dust. Could have had the carvery but glad I hadn't as they ran out of meat 1st, then when meat was served they'd ran of veg. Find they struggle when it's busy because when it's not the food is excellent, won't stop coming. Just next time something is advertised (sodas) it would be nice to have it presented that way!

Absolutely terrible food. Everything was burned. Beacon impossible to bite. Eggs looked like made of plastic. Just avoid this place please

Visited 1.1.2023. Disappointed. Wafer thin meat so small serving. Nice and lean though. Pigs in blankets cost extra which we weren’t offered. Frozen sprouts and carrots. Never good are they. Interesting cauliflower cheese. Can’t taste cheese!. Stuffing was completely dried out. The meat cutter disappeared to find some fresh but didn’t come back while we waited so gave up before our meals got cold. Potatoes were average/acceptable. Overall tasteless!. My companion was loading his food with salt to get some flavor. Very nice and efficient waitress but won’t be back in a hurry I’m afraid. Shame because it’s been our Sunday lunch go to for a few years. Easy parking.

Friendly bar staff. But the carvery was a huge disappointment. Everything was dry and burnt left under heat lamps for too long and tasteless. Things not replenished. Shame, was hoping for better.

Lovely breakfast, although disappointed in the portions of mushrooms, considering you have to pay extra for them. But really good strong coffee.

I only really have the gammon as the beef always looks dry. The gammon and veg are normally delicious 😋 I only tend to go Monday or Tuesday and it's never busy.
