Greeted by a miserable French man. Said fully booked. Lady ran after us. Said we could sit outside. So had a drink, food to come. Won't be coming again.

Lovely pub, great decor, good carpark and sheltered outdoor seating. Had Sunday lunch here as a vegeterian I often get frustrated with the dry offerings of nut roast, this wasn't a factor here infact the best Sunday veggie roast I've had in a long time. Beautiful presentation, generous serving size, flavoursome and cooked to perfection. Def recommend plenty of attentive waiting staff and not much more in cost than poorer quality roast at chain venues

Very large garden with table service (ordering is via scanning QR code at table if dining in the garden and that includes drinks). Most of the staff were really accommodating of a medium sized group. Varied menu. Good for a low key catch up and a drink in the sun.

Lovely outdoor garden with plenty of space and seating. There was also a marquee for shaded seating too. We had a ice creams and coffees that came quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful. Nice toilets too.

Went for dinner with my family for Mother's Day we found somewhere to have a drink while waiting for our table. The staff were friendly and kept us informed when things would be ready. The food arrived timely even though there were 7 adults and 4 children. The quality of food was amazing

Really great pub, notably for its expansive beer garden and wide range of beers. Highly recommended, especially on a sunny day. We didn't have the food but I've been told it's great.

Huge pub with large gardens. Nice helpful staff. Food a wee bit expensive with no option for lighter bites. My friend had a very nice salmon mousse but only had a small piece of bread. She asked about another slice but would have been charged an extra £2:50! Service charged.

Beautiful location, brilliant staff, a great experience. Richard and the team bent over backwards to look after our party of 32. Kids meals came out first as requested. Throughly recommended for big parties. Very welcoming and helpful even when extremely busy and mid heatwave! Thank you all.

Had a really disappointing meal at The Red Lion yesterday. Two of our party requested the salt and pepper calamari and when it came it was a pitiful amount and looked like the broken bits from the bottom of a freezer bag. Rubbery and dry it was a let down for £8.00. Generally the meal was expensive and underwhelming, won't be going back.

Our friends and ourselves had a deeply disappointing evening. We went for the advertised £5 steak and chips, but of course quickly discovered that is was not the bargain it suggested. The steak was small, as was the miserly chip portion. Everything else was extra, including flat mushrooms, plural ,and tomato, which turned out to be one very small flat mushroom and a fairly tasteless tomato at £3.50. The peppercorn sauce was another £3. It got worse. The "medium cooked" steak was under cooked and extremely chewy. The merlot was OK but when we asked for coffee the machine had broken down! So it came to the bill, and our share was 3 medium glasses of merlot, plus the extras above. This came according to my maths to 2 x £11.50 and 3 x £7.50, i.e £35.50. No, according to them it was £46.50. No, they made it £38.50 and the rest in service charge! They said this was on the bill, although it took all of us by surprise. Altogether a very disappointing and frustrating evening, poor value for money and not one we will be repeating

Good portions, reasonable prices. Good fish and chips! Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely Pims. The first time i went there service a little slow as it was quite busy there. The next time I went, on a Friday lunchtime, it was very quiet! Idyllic spot right on the river. Loads of spaces outdoors to sit. If you want to sit indoors its probably best to book.

Huge charming gastro pub with many covers inside and out in pretty countryside. The food was very tasty and fries really excellent. If you’re not excited by burgers (various meats & veg) then the menu may not thrill you, although there is also an additional steak menu too. Great attentive friendly service.

A great pub for Sunday lunch. The staff were very attentive and the food, lovely. It is dog friendly and we, along with our friends who we met with, took our dogs. The pub has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with music playing in the background, though not too loud that you couldn't talk. The Butternut Squash for main course was delicious and the chocolate mousse was just as tasty. We will certainly be meeting there again.

We ordered their special burger. The food was delicious It was one of the best burgers i had in recent times. But the service was very bad, we literally had to wait almost 1.5 hrs after the order to get the food, and every time we used to ask the status they used to just reply that it would be ready in 10 more minutes.

I booked a table for a family gathering, Richie was able to let us use a table which sat all 28 of us around it! The children were accommodated for and the meals were all served quickly and were hot . We pre ordered and everyone was very happy with their meals. The service was especially good, attention to detail and served with a smile. Excellent venue for such a large gathering, thank you team!

Superb Sunday lunch in an excellent beer garden with kids rides, carousel, bouncy castle etc. Order from table. Quick quality service and a beautiful location on a summer's day. Kids rides only in place for 6 weeks during school holidays but an excellent spot regardless. Plenty of space inside and out for families or those without. Roast beef, seasonal veg and crispy roast potatoes in gravy £17.00 good selection of drinks too.

Clean and tidy pub. Modern with some of the original structure. They've expanded the outdoor seatings with some retro string lights. Limited food menu but they're very good! Ordered the burger and the fish, very yummy! Great service and very polite.

Nice place, food was good, but not great. Was there to eat midweek in the evening. Not many people, staff friendly but felt a bit false. Told they were closing at about 10pm and asked to finish our drink. Probably all normal but just felt a bit downbeat overall and wouldn't rush to go back.

First time visit and I was very impressed. Waiting staff were polite and friendly, also attentive without being annoying. The food was excellent. The best meal I've had for a long while, it was absolutely delicious. Surroundings were lovely too, very tastefully decorated and nice and warm. Will definitely do a return visit and recommend to family and friends.

Used to be a lovely place but so much wrong with it now. The giant marquees erected outside have destroyed any semblance of charm the pub used to have. The food is overpriced and the bar staff seem miserable at best. Who wants to go and leave the table to go and collect their own cutlery? Very poor customer service. If you don't want to serve customers then you better off looking for a different job. 2 hour wait for food when busy is just a massive cop out.

Traditional country pub with lovely natural surroundings. The service was great, and the fish and chips was delicious. It was very quiet and cosy when I visited. It has a romantic and bohemian vibe while also being great for pints at the bar or outdoors.
