What an absolutely fantastic experience we had today. My daughter lives nearby The George. I have a nervous reactive rescue dog. We went to The George, myself and my daughter with her friendly dog and my nervous dog. The pub was fantastic. Very accomodating. I went in settled Einstein then went to the bar. I explained to the bartender that Einstein is fearful so will need space. She promptly called all staff to her and told them that they all need to make us aware and follow our instructions on approaching our table. By the end of the meal Einstein was comfortable with staff coming close and handing me things. A very worthwhile visit. We will be back. Thank you so much to all the staff for making our visit so positive. The food was fab too by the way.

This pub is a great place to hang out with friends and family. It's located in the idyllic Rugby. The pub also has an outdoor setting with string lights that are fitting especially at night. On the menu, there are multiple drinks to choose from. I tried a couple, but my favourite would be the Lemonade, then the apple cider (if you like apple juice). Food-wise, the fish cake was a killer! It tasted so good! The main meals were a tad under seasoned for me, but gravy and any other sauce of your choice would make it tastier. I also loved the sweet potato chips and the Irish cream bar dessert. A plus would be that you don't have to break the bank to have a good meal and time here! 😊

Would highly recommend - super friendly in every way… family friendly, dog friendly, and lovely staff. We chose The George because it was halfway between our home and our holiday destination. The reviews seemed positive, it was dog friendly, and it was near a park. We called ahead to book to make sure we could be seated somewhere suitable as we have both a dog and a toddler. The staff on the phone were very helpful and arranged our booking. When we arrived on the day we were so pleased with the whole visit to The George. The staff were friendly, attentive, and polite. They were brilliant with our little one and our dog. The food was excellent. We had the afternoon tea and it was very filling! Because we precooked it was ready really quickly too, which is always a bonus when you have a hungry toddler! Afterwards we went to the park which was literally on the other side of the road so super convenient to walk the dog and allow our son to play in the park before getting back on the road. If we’re ever in the area again we’ll be sure to pop in.

This is a really nice all round pub. First thing we noticed was the decor. It's done up nicely with light colours everywhere so it feels airy and clean and spacious but it's still got a touch of cosiness to it. The menu had a good range of classic pub grub. I had chicken & chorizo skewers for starter and lasagne for mains and both were very good. Hot. Fresh. Flavoursome. If I had to be super picky, I'd say the lasagne could have been a bit more golden on top, and the salad dressing was too vinegary and sharp, but it was a lovely meal and I came away happily satisfied. Portions were big enough that I was full afterwards. There were a good selection of drinks and the beer I had was very nice. They came quickly and refills weren't over-offered. The staff were friendly and professional. They got our orders right, didn't disturb us unnecessarily, were amusing in their language (regarding coke: "Would like like ice and a slice?") Most of them looked the part (smart, well dressed, etc) apart from one lady who looked like she'd kinda just woken up and found herself at work. I'm not a dog lover, and this place allowed dogs in, so for me that's a downer but I know I'm I'm the minority there. Overall a good experience, I'd recommend.

Delicious Sunday roast with all the trimmings. Service was a bit slow at times as our drinks sat at the bar for a while before being served... But it was a busy Sunday and the food and puddings were still delicious πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

Lovely Lunchtime date with my Husband before Christmas. Delicious starters of smoked salmon and breaded prawns. Then I had the buttermilk chicken burger special which was so good, really delicious flavours together and Mark had the special Christmas burger. Definitely a rare treat Lunchtime out and really great food, atmosphere and lovely Staff 10/10.

We were looking for a pub for date night and this pub popped up on Google, and we're glad it did! The service was very good, good atmosphere and clean restaurant! I had the pesto linguini and my partner the pork belly burger; the burger was very good, and the pasta was unfortunately missing the mushrooms and was a bit dry, we informed the staff of this and they glady remade it and kindly took it off the bill, the second plate of pasta was much better with plenty of mushrooms. Also, the prices were amazing, so cheap for these days, for example my partner got a rum and coke for 1Β£ because he had ordered a burger. Definitely recommend this place!

I thought I'd reserve a table this time through the Google map. It was a simple enough process and got an email confirmation. Also they had the options of ordering food and drinks via the app 'My Pub' which is a great idea and so convenient, not having to wait for a waiter/waitress. The staff are friendly and polite. The menu was not limited although they were out of Sunday Roast which being dinner/tea time I wasn't surprised. I had the Smokey Joe burger with sweet potato fries. My son had lasagne. Ordered extra sides - beer battered onion rings, triple cooked chips and cheesy garlic bread. Lasagne came with a salad and 2x garlic bread. I wish I had more choice with my burger in terms of add or replace certain food such as the American cheese which I'm not fond of at all. Although it is already the ultimate burger on the menu. The lasagne didn't have the typical multiple layers of pasta sheets. I think there was just two, top and bottom. The salad was nice with sundried tomatoes, peppers, onions, edamame and tomatoes, but no dressing. I had to ask and didn't get a choice but vinaigrette. I had to ask about the triple cooked chips and had to wait for it be cooked. Weren't impressed with it. With that title and a sign outside boasting of it I was expecting it to be extra crispy or something. Beer battered onion rings didn't taste or look like beer batter. But it tasted good, not great just good. I will try The George again as this was my first time and see if it was just a one off. Updating 2yrs on. I went to The George with my wife for a quick hr or so away from the kids and house. Ordered via the app some drinks and snacks of battered onion rings. This time the onion rings were perfect! Have tried at other pubs in the area and so far this is the best. The sunset cocktail was a big hit with my wife. Very quickly served and the lady was the same one all cheery and polite. Gets an added star!

Can’t fault The George. Traditional English pub with really friendly staff and great food. Recently booked a table for a family meal here (thoroughly recommend the chicken pie!) and have to say a big thanks to Steve, the chef, for making sure we were all catered for. Will definitely be back.

Never eaten here, but often stop in for a drink when out for a walk. It's a great pub, with a good choice of drinks. They're always very welcoming and accommodating for the whole family. The outside sitting area is a very nice place to enjoy the sun with a cold drink on a sunny day.

We use The George as our regular and the service is always excellent with all members of staff being friendly, quick and efficient. There is always a brilliant range of drinks and the menu is varied and delicious. There is always a welcoming atmosphere and best of all - it is dog friendly. We will definitely keep returning.

Friendly, great food and service. Sensible prices with a quality meal. Turkey salad and homemade apple crumble both delicious. Wanted to find a venue halfway between my friend and I for a catch up lunch, this is it. Plan to return again.

We had our daughter’s christening party at The George. Delicious buffet food and lots of it. Everyone was delighted with the quality of the food and the service. Jack, Ollie and the team are fantastic. 10/10.

Good Sunday lunch, though we did go later in the afternoon so they'd sold out of a few things, and service was a little slow as they were still busy. Beef rib alternative to the roast was surprisingly good. Would recommend getting in for lunch to ensure full choice is available.

We spent a pleasant Monday evening at the George. We were a party of eight celebrating the visit of an old friend. We all managed to choose an item from the menu and we all enjoyed our meals. The staff were welcoming and helpful.

Came here for my birthday having visited a couple of times before for a pint. Firstly, I like the fact they welcome cyclists and it was a visit with the local cycling club that introduced me to the George. As for my birthday, it was the first time we'd eaten here. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. A wide choice - with my daughter enjoying calamari, my wife a lobster and prawn cocktail and I had a chicken terrine. Two steaks followed and my daughter tucked into a kid's meal. Service was friendly and we were brilliantly looked after by the lovely Ellen. We will definitely return and thank you for making a Tuesday night birthday so lovely!

Had a lovely meal on a busy bank holiday. Happy to have found it. Nice spread in the menu in choices and they did a good job with our general fussiness on what we ordered. Pleasant service throughout. Will definitely be back.

Nice selection of beers, good amount of seating available. It was quite busy which is always a good sign but still managed to get served quickly. Only downside was a member of our party was trying cocktails and they were out of ingredients for a lot of things (cosmopolitan being one they could not produce). Other than than, a nice pub.
