This is a hotel that has a split personality, the outside of the hotel and common areas are all beautiful, first impressions are great, then when you enter the rooms it is like you've stepped back in time to what was previously a beautiful and luxury hotel but hasn't been updated in 20 years. Some of the rooms of stifling in their heat, even with windows open and a fan on. The step to get into the bath/shower is huge, even for someone who is 6 foot. During my visit the fire alarms were activated twice disturbing my sleep (and sleep quality is the most important metric for a hotel!) The staff were all pleasant and polite - the ones working at the Marco restaurant on site were the stars of the show. The hotel offers a cost that is value for money given the services provided and dated rooms, but due to the issue with fire alarms I would not return.

We stayed one night following a long flight from Japan. It is about 10 minutes drive from the airport so very convenient. There was also free parking, always a bonus. The room was spacious and well furnished and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a good size if a little dated but had a great shower over the bath with good pressure and there were good sized bath sheets. The breakfast had everything you could want and was a help yourself buffet style with coffee or tea delivered to your table.

Attended the Manor Hotel in Meriden for a family wedding. From start to finish it was perfect. Great location, plenty of free parking, welcoming friendly staff, efficient check-in, spotlessly clean and tidy throughout public areas, toilets, bars, corridors, wedding rooms and my bedroom. The wedding room was beautifully laid out and decorated, lovely drinks reception outside in the sunshine, wedding meal was on time, piping hot and plenty to eat. They catered well for my gluten free diet all day. Service for the wedding meal was professional, young staff but they knew what they were doing and did it well. Nice Triumph bar at the front of the hotel, again very friendly staff. Bedroom was comfortable and everything you needed for an overnight stay, including nice toiletries, soft towels and a decent hair-dryer. I welcomed the fan in the bedroom as it was a hot weekend and the windows only opened to a certain level. Great food at the wedding evening reception, and a lovely cooked breakfast the day after. All in all, I couldn't fault it. Well done to all the team who worked on 27 - 28 May 2022. Thank you for looking after us all so well on such an important family occasion.

Buisness trip again everyone! On arrival I was pleasantly surprised the parking was super, loads of space at the back. I parked a big van no problem and went easily through the back entrance The girls on reception were super friendly Lifts for easy access and the corridors were clean and tidy and along with the room well maintained and hovered. The bath was huge and loads of fresh towels with complimentary drinks and kettle. The bed was amazingly comfy and I had a lovely nights sleep. As for the breakfast what can I say...! Crispy bacon, fried egg, hash browns, beans and tomatoes all on the buffet. Wow Clean toilets, lots of nice smelling handwash. Left feeling like I didnt want to leave, but very happy If there had had been an issue I would have mentioned it but nothing at all on my visit Will definitely stay again

Felt very tired and old where no money has been spent on the corridors and rooms. The reception and restaurant is obviously the area they spent the money. Food was lovely and the service was good too. There was a huge booking issue. Paid for 2 nights, arrived and Reception stated no booking or payment made even with evidence of booking details and payment made. Was refused entry. Had to pay again for the 2 nights upon arrival. After 1 night the door key would not work. Reception stated key been blocked as payment was only for 1 night. Showed yet more evidence and they unblocked the key. Horrendous experience after a long day.

Location is amazing, for tourists its right on the main bus route and is only 20 minutes away from the airport. Breakfast was good, friendly staff, car park was pretty full, our friend who was staying in the same hotel struggled to park his hatchback, anything larger would not have been able to park there The cleaning staff did an amazing job, every time we returned it looked like we had just arrived at a fresh room, the room itself was ok, a little fridge would be a great addition, the bathroom is very nice, lovely shower. our two complaints we would have is that the room was very cold, with no way of controlling heating, and the wifi barely worked in our room, despite this we would definitely stay again, if we ever return to Birmingham. :)

The Triumph Bar was fantastic because the staff were brilliant. Paige and Laura were a fantastic team behind the bar. Lone female staying and they made me feel welcome and made a point of coming to me to serve me drinks. Lovely warm welcome.

Probably the worst front desk staff I have ever met. Came at 2pm, totally bored young man welcomed you with arrogant face and sentence "checkin at 3pm - not possible do anything there" even though hotel was empty and plenty of free rooms were available. The same story continued next day in the morning, when lady (who was btw clearly sick and cold, red eyes) demanded 40 GBP for later check out even though hotel was empty. No effort to do anything extra, bad customer service. Only positive, food was very good.

Room was small and had loads of stains on walls, ceiling, in corridor too. Cracked tiles in bathroom. On night we stayed strong smell of weed in evening and following morning. Breakfast was cold very very cold)Food on our event was absolutely terrible. On positive note staff was mostly very pleasant

Very comfy bed, rooms are small but you get what you need in them. Very poor accessabillity to the upper floors, conference rooms etc. There is an option to take a (very) long way round, which involves parking in the higher carpark going through a fire escape, going down a hallway then you are on the same level as the conference rooms. There is 1 lift in the new side of the hotel. Hotel is also not very guide dog friendly. They will tell you the dog needs to be in one part of the restaurant (the part closer to the food strangly) until its explained to them what the law actually is, and they suddenly see the guide dog flashes on the lead and harness. Even though it's the second day we have been there and they know very well she is a guide dog.

My wife and I went for afternoon tea at the best Western. Our tea was lovely and was served by a pleasant and attentive waiter. The sandwiches were freshly made, as was the good assortment of cakes and no afternoon tea would be complete without warm scones, strawberry jam and cream. All in all a good afternoon out.

Came for new years, Β£35 a ticket and you get the same amount of food in their finger buffet that a table of 2. 2 of each item, our table had a few vegetarians who had to divide their small amount of options among themselves and then there’s me who can’t have milk so didn’t have anything thinking I might get sick. No one explained what anything was to us. The small amount of food for such a big ticket price was unacceptable. The atmosphere at my nans funeral was more lively, a small family had left about 10 and our table spent most the night talking about what we will do next year as it was hard to have fun.

The sight of the building on arrival gives hope that this will be a really nice place to stay. Walking upstairs from reception I started to have my doubts, as the carpet has worn right through in places. The directions to the room were simple, "Up the stairs". The reality not so. At the top of the lovely open sweeping stairs there are a couple of doors, both labelled, probably leading to function rooms. There are no signs to direct anyone to rooms, just a passageway tucked round a corner. Following the passageway there are some rooms then 2 more doorways, one labelled for rooms, but not my room, the other unlabelled with more stairs visible. Up the stairs there's another door and finally here is the corridor to my room. The room itself looks very nice, though little things hint at cheapness and corner cutting. The best example being the kettle for the hot drinks, sitting on a specially designed shelf, but they're not matching, and the kettle base sits precariously on a shelf that's already sitting at a strange angle. The room was clean and tidy, and the bed comfortable, but I didn't sleep well due to the constant noise outside the window. It seems I was right next the extractor for the kitchen or boiler room. After the bad night's sleep, I was looking forward to a wake up shower, but not possible. There was a serious problem with the water pressure, causing the flow to fluctuate continuously, and the temperature to go from scolding to freezing every other second. I mentioned this at reception checking out, and another customer said they had the same problem. The staff did offer me another room to shower in, but I didn't have time. I expected better...

What I want when I am away from home is comfort, and I did not get this from this hotel! Despite booking a double room, what I got was a twin with the beds pushed together. The mattress was soft, creaky, and uncomfortable, and no amount of mattress topping will fix that!! It was as if they'd been on those beds since the hotel opened, nit to mention the inconvenience of a ridge formed by the two beds! The pillows were lumpy, and no amount of fluffing would make them right. The room overlooked the back of what I can only assume was the kitchen, and the fans/generators were thrumming well towards midnight - it was exceptionally distracting. As someone who works away from home, accessing the Internet is essential. The Internet was shockingly poor. Being located near to the NEC and used by many businesses, no doubt, it's a wonder that visitors and exhibitors who stay don't experience the same issues. Staff were friendly enough, and a free glass of wine was offered to my colleague and myself when the wait staff knocked a glass of red into her lap at dinner on the first night. If this hotel were a school report..."must do better"

Good location for NEC. Rooms are comfortable and a good size. Staff are friendly and helpful. Just a couple of comments re the restaurant. Olives without stones would be nicer (personal preference) and Β£5.20 for a bottle of tap water is a little excessive.

We arrived around 12 o'clock at night after a long flight from Japan. Reception friendly and helpful, the room was fine, and a good breakfast. Plenty of parking at the front, would use again.

We only stayed here briefly overnight before a flight from Birmingham airport but will definitely go back. Lovely hotel, really nice room. The staff were really friendly. The bar was very nice too.

Met family in the bar fir a small reunion. My husband is disabled and uses a wheelchair. I parked in the disabled parking bays at the back of the hotel. The slope down to the entrance has 3 steps at the bottom. The doors are not automatic so this entrance was totally out of my ability to manoeuvre his wheelchair. I had to push him all the way round toothed front of the hotel which has a flat more accessible entrance but no disabled parking bays???? please explain the logic of this. We sat directly by the entrance, a family of 10. Every time someone opened the door the wind howled through. The outside door was open so we shut it which made our seating area much better, however the air conditioning was on full blast so we asked the bar staff if they could turn it down, they said yes but didn't actually do it. The outside door was opened again and a member of staff was walking by so we asked if they could shut it but they said that management wanted it left open. We suggest management sit by the door in the bar to see how uncomfortable this makes that area

Wonderful experience, quick check in, friendly staff, room was as expected, breakfast was top notch all you can eat and they even have a Marco Pierre Steakhouse as the main restaurant which is good for steak lovers. The perfect commute to and from the NEC as this was the main reason we stayed.

Lovely place to lodge although the car park may not be spacious when busy. The food is lovely and the service is spot on however my food was getting before it arrives and that of my business partner was too salty. I did enjoyed the atmosphere plus the live band playing and singing lovely old-school music 🎢 to our ears. 🍨 dessert was so nice that I wanted moreπŸ˜‹. Oh and I must say, everywhere in the room is clean and neat including the bathroom. The hallway is clean and I felt airs of comfort at the hotel. I definitely will be going back but I will say though it's quality but food and drinks are highly overpriced for such lodge . The chef need to be careful with use of ingredients especially salt.

A great place to leave the car when flying from Birmingham Airport. Very friendly and helpful staff. A quiet room provided for a good night's sleep despite having to get up at 3am!

Rooms a bit dated but bed and pillows very comfy. Meals were excellent and although staff not very clear on menu they were friendly and helpful. Reception and booking not great.

Rooms need to be updated to match the grandeur look that greets you. The location and taxi journey for Birmingham Airport is excellent and will most likely stay again. I hope to see an improvement in the rooms.

Yeo night stop over whilst visiting Birmingham and surrounding area. Room was clean and comfortable and at Β£55 per night, no complaints. Staff polite and helpful. Free parking. We didn't take the breakfast but did use the on site Marco Pierre White Steak House which was lovely.

Excellent stay, twin room single beds, very clean, spacious, good night's sleep, good shower. Room only, didn't have breakfast as about Β£15 each.. Staff very good, rang around locally to find pub showing Masters Golf.

Great hotel, albeit could do with a little more attention to detail as several lights not working in the bedroom which left the room only lit with the small entrance area light and the bedside lamps. Service was excellent and food really good. Would happily stay again.

Spent the night for a family wedding. The whole day went like clockwork. It was perfect. Staff were professional and didn't miss a beat. Food was excellent, allergies catered for too, which is great. Room was spacious, clean and beds were very comfortable.

Beautiful hotel and grounds with plenty of parking. The hotel was perfect for what I needed, I did not venture out anywhere locally so I cannot state how far the city centre is or anywhere else but the hotel was easy to access and find. The hotel had a lovely restaurant and meeting room, the food at breakfast, lunch and dinner was amazing, the staff were friendly, decor was modern and stylish. The room I stayed in had everything I needed and was a nice size and was clean tidy and modern. I would definitley return.

Lovely hotel in a nice area. Very friendly staff, both on reception and in the restaurant. Food very high standard and attentive service, they do automatically add a 10% service charge onto the bill though! Rooms large, excessively hot and no air conditioning not a very good night sleep for this reason, but generally a nice clean room albeit a bit tired, curtain off the rail, toilet holder broke and one of the towels was stained with what looked like black make up, didn't matter too much as there were plenty of other towels. Good quality bathroom products free for guests to use.
