When we arrived we had a lovely warm welcome. We checked in and went to our room and someone else had it. One of the cleaners went to sort it out for us. We went to the swimming area where there was much seating for everyone. Also the steam room was as steamy as normal, the sauna was hot though, facilities clean. Dinner was adequate but not much on the dessert menu or starter menu to wow me. Bed was comfy, shower was warm not hot though. Grounds look beautiful

Dropped in for an adhoc lunch with my wife last week. Well, absolutely fab...met the lovely lady owner by default, she had served us and was then having lunch with a friend. Food fresh, wine perfectly chilled and coffee spot on. We'll o back for sure

Stayed here for 2x nights. Nice and clean hotel. Twin room is spacious. Facilities are good. Would have liked the pool to have more depth levels. Also, if a guest is staying for more than one night, the dinner menu can become repetitive; would have been good to alternate menu on different days. However, staff were friendly and very helpful. Would recommend

Review from a photographer. This venue is a dream. Gorgeous layout. Very well decorated with outstanding grounds. The building flows brilliantly, and you're never far from your guests or amenities. The staff really do go the extra mile and look after the day as if it was their own. Great work everyone!

Brandon Hall is a 4* hotel and earns a 3* rating. The exterior and grounds of the hotel & spa are very nice and relatively well maintained. Inside, the lobby area is the nicest part of the hotel with a clean, modern design. The staff were very helpful in answering any questions and assisting with check-in. Once you head down to your room, the hallways are slightly run down with quite a bit of patchwork being done. It took a little while to find how to get to our room, with no direct route to the room. Upon entering our room, we noticed it had all mentioned/necessary amenities (hairdryer, iron & board, coffee/tea machine, fridge). The bed was a good side and very comfy although the pillows were slightly thin. The room itself was quite empty which meant it was rather echoey, noise from the hallway also carried through to the room quite frequently. At night, the pipes become quite noisy which woke me up on both nights we stayed. The bathroom is in need a refresh, the tiles were rather dirty, the shower light didn’t work and also the temperature of the shower continually fluctuated whilst in use going from freezing to very hot, but the pressure was great. The breakfast buffet was fairly good, with lots of options and different dietary options for those needing them. Would be nice to see scrambled eggs available. The highlight of Brandon Hall was the amazing leisure complex which has a pool and a gym. The gym itself is unlike any other ‘hotel gym’ I’ve used. It actually has free weights and all machines you could need for a great workout. Staff were very friendly too. TL;DR: Staff friendly and helpful Interior needs a refresh Gym is great Average breakfast buffet

Beautiful hotel in lovely quiet surroundings with the added bonus of a lovely spa /gym with sauna ,steam room no jacuzzi. Towels are provided in the spa but no shampoos etc in the showers which was a let down. The hotel room we stayed in was executive it was spacious and very clean in fact spotless we checked!! .couldnt want for any more !! We are particular about the bedding and we requested a new mattress protector which was immediately changed before returning from reception. Excellent service. We stayed on a dinner and breakfast basis Breakfast was buffet style plentiful amount of regular breakfast choices for cooked and cereals as well as pastries. All fresh. And not over cooked. Homemade sausages were lovely . And a freshly ground coffee machine . Gluten free cereal was available along with gluten free bread on request. Eggs also were requested as poached and these were good. Dinner options are good and not limited by price cap. Although there is a supplement for steak. The restaurant catered very well for gluten and lactose allergies very well. The restaurant manager Manuel and deputy manager Geeva and our server Gael as well as other staff were all very friendly and attentive. Thank you all for a lovely stay.

A very tired hotel, not what we were expecting for a four star hotel. The whole place needs money spending. Our room was tired and very basic, the toilet seat was broken and not safe, this was not repaired on our 2 day stay, although I reported this to the front desk. I'm not sure why you can't book in until 4pm, it must have taken 1/2 an hour to clean out room, tops. Dead flies on the window sills, very basic room and toiletries. There is very limited space between the bed and the walls both sides. The hall and staircase were not clean and were crying out for a vacuum cleaner. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls too. The staff were friendly and breakfast was nice. Such a shame that the hotel was so poor, as we were really looking forward to this break..

We stayed at Brandon Hall whilst at a friend's wedding reception and found the place to be easily accessible, good parking and lovely from the outset. The room was clean and spacious and the breakfast in the morning was great, a good selection to suit all needs. The staff were all friendly and helpful during our short stay, would definitely come back.

Staying here for work so location is convenient for office and area is nice. The room is large and has everything you’d need but is pretty empty and feels a bit soulless. The bathroom is disgusting - mould and grime behind the sink, silicone sealant looks like it’s been done by a child, mould on the silicone in the shower, shower has good pressure but temperature fluctuates and goes scalding hot. Nice to have a separate shower and bath but very outdated. The whole hotel is outdated with a miserable restaurant that’s very bland, the hallways are falling apart with paint peeling and edges dented and not repaired and is a bit like a never ending hallway of white. The food was absolutely abysmal. Ordered the baked aubergine as other mains were £20+ and it was 80% seeds with some sad looking curry on top and a mini naan bread. £18.50. Sent back and got chickpea curry instead which was two little ramekins of curry and rice and a mini naan - curry tasted ok but nothing special and for £18.50 I’d maybe expect a bit of flare or poppadoms and dips or something. No mention to remove part of the bill as I sent the food back and had to wait for the next dish meaning I’d been sat there for 45 minutes without any food. They don’t offer you complimentary bread or water on the table. All just a bit of a poor experience for such an expensive restaurant. Gym was well equipped

Stayed for the second time here. First time in an executive room and found it amazing. Stayed in a standard this time and it's literally the opposite entirely with room, service and attitudes...even though they don't realise I was here before. Staff rude...literally saw a service lady put some towels down in front of a guest's room and then kicked them towards the door...towels! For a top class hotel this alone is shocking! Room dirty and minimalist. Water unavailable. Just will not be staying here again...and wouldn't recommend it and if you do...bring your own towels...would prefer a premier inn after what I've seen happening here...

Really amazing stay! Stayed in the executive room. Room a really nice size and bed amazingly comfy! Staff friendly. Evening meal was probably the best meal I’ve ever had. Pool and spa were really lovely and late check out amazing. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Parking was really good and lots of space. Really quiet location.

We had a girls spa weekend here and the service has been exceptional. We arrived early and had a wait for our rooms, so we sat in the bar and had a couple of drinks. The manager came over and offered us free canapés as we had to wait for our rooms. The staff in the restaurant were fab, really friendly and accommodating, and very personable they spent time chatting to us and nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend staying here and I will definitely be back.

I am a very fussy customer but i must say i had a really great stay with my wife and one year old son! All the staff were welcoming, polite and helpful! The room (upgraded for free to a suit as we had a child) was clean, spacious and bed was very comfortable. Cot and a sofa bed provided. The pool / spa facilities were very clean and easily accessible. The hotel grounds well maintained. The food was also good and staff were on point! Breakfast options catred for evryone and chef was happy to make us vegetarian sausages. Will definitely be staying again, soon. Nice little getaway away from city life!!

Room was large, all usual amenities. Bath and shower. Large TV. Went to the spa area for a couple of hours. Then later on we went to the Restaurant for a 3 course evening dinner; which was excellent. Loved the Salmon. Staff were attentive, and hardly any waiting between courses. Full breakfast in the morning with Croissants, cakes and cereals etc. Late checkout; so we had another couple of hours in the spa area before we departed. Definitely recommended and will return. 👌 Dave K

We bought some wowcher deals for a group of friends to catch up. Our Stay, Breakfast and dinner for both nights were all included in the price, which worked out so cost effective. The staff were all so lovely and friendly. The food for dinner was very good quality and we were very pleasantly surprised (the seabass, the duck and the seafood Thai curry were really good). The vegetarian options could do with improving, as they are quite limited. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms could do with a bit of a tidy up. The pool, sauna and steam room were all fine. The thing we didn't appreciate is that the partner of one of the staff brought his and his partners teenage son + a friend to use the pool, which isn't in itself an issue, what was an issue is they brought a RUGBY ball into the pool and took over half the pool for 2 hours with a complete disregard for paying guests. The ball even hit one woman and they didn't even apologise. The hotel is tierd and missing on charm and atmosphere but we got exactly what we paid for. The drainage in the bathrooms could do with taking a look at, as there was a smell and the shower tray wasn't draining properly. They need to use some caustic soda. I also wish the coffee machine was working, but they did have instant coffee. The helpfulness and attitude of the staff was great. Ths hotel heeds investment and for them to hire out the spa space to an external vendor. We enjoyed our stay as the food was good and the beds comfortable.

Booked the weekend through a wowcher deal, thinking it also did spa treatments. They don't, but they are still advertising them, rip off!!! Booked in, told where room was, not shown, it was a maze to get to it. They didn't mention there was a lift!! We had to navigate past piles of dirty laundry to get to room.evening meal expensive for what you got. That night at 2150hrs, disturbed by bins/skips being dragged around the yard. Breakfast was not good either, the bacon was overcooked and only smoked bacon available. Evening meal was better although the lamb I had was overcooked. They also tried to give us a cariffe of water, which we didn't ask for, and which would have cost £4. The hotel reminded me of a prison, with drab grey walls throughout. . The drains in the bathroom smelt of sewage. We will not be going back there again

Shame the rooms were so dirty, the first room had toe nails by the side of the bed, the second had hair everywhere, Pube in the bath! couldn't be bothered to change after the 3rd room so put up with it!. Housekeeping need just to hoover not just change beds In a positive staff are nice, food in the restaurant is tasty to!

Booked for the weekend thru wowcher, for a birthday treat, expecting to be able to book the spa facilities, unable to do that as they aren't doing the spa. It was to late then to cancel booking. They call themselves a hotel and spa, but they no longer offer the spa. That must be false advertising. When we booked in we were given directions to the room, we had to navigate around bundles of dirty laundry. The evening meal was instantly forgettable and over priced. That night we were disturbed by bins/skips being dragged around the yard. Breakfast next morning wasn't up to much, the only bacon available was smoked and over cooked. The decor of the hotel reminded me of a military prison, that hasn't been maintained., scuffed walls, no pictures, and a drab grey colour throughout. They brought us water which we didn't ask for and they would have charged us £4 for it. The meal was slightly better than Fridays. The drains in the rooms bathroom smelt of the sewers. WE WILL NOT BE STAYING THERE AGAIN

Came away with my friend to get away from my neighbours 8 barking dogs. Room decor was nice but not sure what was Exec about it. The shower was broken so had to physically hold it while showering and the water stayed in the shower tray and didnt drain for ages. Dinner was very bland and forgetable and windows were open in the dining room so we were surrounded by flies. Also the cobwebs surrounding us were shocking (a clean was needed) There were no spa treatments available despite being a hotel and spa (not happy at all by this) Then got woken up around 6am by barking dogs (you couldnt write it ) the dogs continued to bark the whole morning so no lay in for me. I spoke to reception about the shower and someone came to look at it and was told we could move room which would be downstairs. This is a inconvienience to our morning as we had breakfast booked for 10:30 and plans. So to move in our pjs and pack our bags while hungry was not the morning we planned We decided to stay put and hold the shower, which also flooded the bathroom. Breakfast was shocking we were rushed as it was closing by the time we got there due to the shower issues (which we were told would not be an issue) All the stuff was being packed away and we had to call staff and ask for them to be brought back out.

Hotel itself looks very run down from the outside. The guys on Reception weren't overly welcoming. Our room was very basic, phone didn't work, wood flooring, mould on the ceilings in the bathroom but, the bed was comfortable. Bar was reasonably priced but we went out instead of eating there as they can't offer you a menu to look at. Breakfast was OK, nothing special and I found right outside the main door a swarm of wasps so they were obviously nesting there, told reception but, they didn't do anything about it. Also, no water was supplied in the room which I found odd as I've always thought complimentary water is standard. Shame as it has the potential to be a great place. Oh and sleeping is hard as there are doors slamming continously.

From the photos on Groupon, it looked lovely, but when arriving it wasn't as remote as hoped. Our room was situated right opposite the swimming pool car park which was full of a biking club who were noisy. Also our room was right above where all the delivery trucks were offloading. The staff were polite and the breakfast was also quite good with lots of choice.

Stunning little hide away. Came here with a wowcher deal. Had a room 2 course dinner for 2, a bottle of wine. Breakfast and use of the pool, steam, sauna. All for less than £200. Was a great break to recharge. Great staff. 👍

Nice place and location. Dinner was nice but was not hot enough for me. There is a lovely wee pub at the bottom of the hill to the right called the Royal Oak 2 for 1 on main meal till 4.30pm excellent food

This is a good hotel but this is as far as I would go .. It is the type of hotel that is slightly out of the way and typically takes advantage of that with bar and food prices. £4.50 for a small bottle of beer is just extortion. Rooms are ready for refurbishment along with the main areas of the hotel. The bathrooms could be cleaner!!

  • 3/5 Chianna b. 1 year ago on Google
The bed was like sleeping on the floor, the rooms are very outdated and even if the had a few pictures to brighten up the place. The location is lovely very beautiful but overall not the best needs some money spent on the place. Should be rated 3 stars not 4. Staff was lovely when we went for breakfast.

  • 5/5 Carol R. 1 year ago on Google
We arrived 2 hours before check in time, expecting to just go for a coffee to pass the time, but we were warmly welcomed by the lovely reception staff and told our room was ready so could go straight in. Everywhere appeared spotlessly clean and fresh. The food (2 breakfasts, 2 dinners) was delicious and all the staff were delightful... friendly and helpful, explaining anything we needed to know. We also made good use of the spa and gym, which was very relaxing. The location of Brandon Hall is beautiful, with great walking opportunities, or visits to nearby Stratford or Coventry. We'll definitely be returning.

A tired hotel that doesn't really fit the 4 star rating.

  • 1/5 elke h. 1 year ago on Google
This is not a Spa. It has an adjoining health club/leisure centre used by the locals. Not relaxing, looking a bit tired in places. 1 threadbare towel says it all really. Hotel is not 4 star. If they advertised as a 3 star I would believe them. Everywhere is in need of TLC. The bathroom was shocking, mouldy tiles and chipped doors. No bottles of water which I would expect in 4 star. Room small although the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was massively underwhelming. Limited and boring choices. The lady serving breakfast was nice as was a man who served us drinks in the bar area the night before. Again the bar closed early and the advertised "log fire" was never lit despite it being January. It would have added a nice touch. Other staff members basically ignored us - no cheery goodmornings etc. We checked out a day early to come home... Such potential, beautiful area and grounds. Overall disappointing 😞

  • 2/5 Stuart T. 1 year ago on Google
The majority of staff were very friendly, sadly a couple were not at their best. On arrival I was told the restaurant doesn't take bookings at check in but when I booked I was told that was the best way and the website also says to book. When I said this all of a sudden a few different options became available. The lady on the counter just seemed to want to get us through quickly which was strange as there was no queue, the rest of the info she gave me was rushed and unclear I returned later to double check with someone else on the front desk. It was a birthday present for my wife 2 nights away kid free looking forward to the spa which doesn't actually exist, there is a mini leisure centre on the grounds (not connected) that you can use but does not have spa facilities except a sauna and steam room. We were told the spa services (massages etc) were only available at restricted times at weekends but when we arrived it became apparent it was not available at all. The pool is in major need of updating the showers are rusting and falling apart and the set up almost took an eye as I entered the changing room as a bench with hooks is straight in front of you (pics included), the steam room is full of holes and a rusted vent struggles to stay warm, the sauna was actually quite good and was at a good temperature. The room (101) was very disappointing, we paid for the upgrade to a privilege room which looked nothing like the online photos. The included stocked mini bar had 3 cans of pop a bottle of water and a mars bar. Basic Nespresso machine and only 2 pods with no info how to use or which pods they were. It did have a nice TV with no remote, the concierge was able to get us one though. The room was very dated and could do with a makeover along with the 1970s bathroom, the only toiletries provided were a small tub of shower gel. The restaurant was a mixed bag, the food was excellent when it arrived correctly, my starter was wrong and my wife's main arrived (Xmas roast turkey) missing its gravy. Whereas the food was very nice the price for what it was is not, very overpriced. Breakfast was a pretty standard hotel buffet, 2 coffee machines but 1 was broken both days we were there. Other things to note would be the bins around the hotel were all overflowing including the dog waste one not far from the main entrance

Wonderful spacious, clean and comfortable room, Roxanna on the reservation line upgraded me for free! The room included 3 soft beverages a mars bar and a wide varieties of teas and a coffee machine. Nice large TV too. 3 course dinner was gorgeous. Good quality food with a touch of luxury. Ice creams were delightful. Breakfast was good with a nice range of English breakfast, cereals and coffee machines. Staff friendly throughout, faultless customer service even when problems arised. Could only recommend!

My friend and I stayed at the hotel this weekend and we loved it! The room was lovely, very well refurbished and a really good sized room and bathroom. The restaurant, bar and lounge are all very nice too. The staff were fantastic... Especially Juliet... She was wonderful! With my friend and me... But also with Lola, my friend's dog 🐶 thank you! We'll be back!

Had a lovely relaxing spa weekend with my best friend and Son. Breakfast and Evening meal on both nights. Made full use of the leisure facilities. Overall a disappointing experience, the saving grace was the company...I was with my best friend for special birthday. We were on a spa break. Hotel is looking tired and in need of some love and a good clean. Sun loungers had towels on them constantly but no bodies so we had nowhere to relax! Lunch and dinner were great, breakfast not so...my friend is vegetarian. Doors need a quite close as the slamming of doors didn't stop until 2am...this didn't aid a good nights sleep despite the comfy beds. Some staff were very friendly and helpful, others were just plain rude!Brandon Hall has been a special place over the years, but unfortunately not so this time.

Beautiful location and really friendly service at front desk and in spa. Swimming pool and sauna are well equipped but do appear slightly dated. The spa staff were lovely! Really helpful and made you feel at ease. Room was clean, decor was basic. Food was fantastic with good choice on menu but service was abit slow.

Had a lovely relaxing spa weekend with my longest best friend. Evening meal was delicious. Breakfast also great, good choices. Had the most amazing full body massage with Areeni….I have never had such a great treatment and wished I lived closer as would definitely book in again. Staff very helpful in my opinion and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely setting. Room was nice. Only criticism was that the pillows were too firm for us.

Brandon hotel and spa offered everything it advertised. The rooms were very spacious, clean, nice decor and very inviting. The hotel in general was clean, fresh and quiet. Dinner way delicious and fresh and enough to choose from and even had the option of sitting outside for breakfast. The service for both days was fantastic. The spa, bigger than it looked was nice and clean, and the staff were very helpful. Did not use the gym but it looked very efficient. Was a group of 6 and we were all in agreement, Definitely going back!!!

Very friendly helpful staff. Nothing to much trouble. We had a 3 year old in our group and he was made very welcome. Spacijous rooms and very comfortable beds. Evening meal in the restaurant was first class. We can strongly recommend the Aberdeen Angus steak and the buffet breakfast was excellent. The swimming pool was lovely and safe even for a beginner. What more could you ask for. Nigel, Jane and family.

I think all large hotels have suffered due to the pandemic and this was no exception. Although the staff were friendly enough, we found it difficult to understand the male receptionist on our arrival...his English was very unclear, the barman was very vague, the food and drinks overpriced and the whole place lacked the ambience of a stately premise. But, the room was comfortable enough and the room attendants were very accommodating and we could see they worked very hard. We were so unimpressed we didn't use the spa facilities. It was nice to see a wedding taking place and we hope they got better service than we did!

  • 4/5 Kevin J. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely quiet location but be aware it's a wedding venue and conference centre so could get busy and noisy in the hotel. Some good walks around, especially the nature reserve. Food in the evening is very good but overpriced as were the drinks. Breakfast was very disappointing, good selection of food but the main breakfast was overcooked and left too long under the heat lamps. Rooms were very clean and bed comfortable, hated the laminate flooring, very cold and hard on the feet, I would recommend bringing slippers.

Left quite disappointed with our stay at Brandon Hall Hotel and Spa. The staff at the reception seemed quite rude. The same can be said about some of the other staff throughout the hotel too. Possibly the worst dining experience ever here. There was a function on at the hotel on the day of our stay and apparently the kitchen was really busy but having dinner guests waiting on starters for 50 minutes is disgraceful. I had to go and get drinks for myself and my partner from the hotel bar because no one wanted to come over and serve us. When the food came out it was nothing special because it was thrown together in a rush, the mains were obviously microwaved, they were so piping hot we had to leave them sitting for a bit before eating, at that point they were not enjoyable at all! The room seemed pleasant at first, however parts of it were poorly cleaned prior to our stay or are possibly not cleaned at all. The bath had many sections that had mould, especially under the bath handles! Mould around the windows on the room, sheets and pillows with markings on them. It’s not acceptable. The rooms are poorly ventilated and you either have the option of leaving the window open and having insects enter or dying from heat. The spa facilities are nothing special at all, small and very over crowded. Kids were jumping into the pool and the pool itself was so crowded it was a struggle to find any space to even relax in. We had treatments booked for the following day of our stay that we didn’t even bother to attend because everything has been so bad. The only positive is the location is nice and coombe abbey park is near by, totally worth a visit! But as for the hotel and its facilities, not great and I feel like my money was poorly spent.

Friendly, clean hotel in a lovely location for walks. Worth saying the spa is in a separate building, has no jacuzzi, pool is one depth 1.2m and serious lack of beds if you're a big group or it's busy (approx 10). Not ideal if you want lunch or a drink either, you would need to leave, as no service available there. Spa is open to non-residents/children. Rooms were well fitted and spacious. Restaurant choices are poor for vegans if you have the 3 course fixed option. The chickpea curry lacked flavour and looked disappointing compared to my friends meat meals which were beautifully presented. No vegan pudding option on menu, was offered fruit salad or sorbet. Pitiful!! Having said that, breakfast was good with late sitting at 10:15 and late check-out at 12. Tip - be sure to reserve your dinner sitting in advance. We didn't and had to wait until 9pm.

  • 3/5 Francesca B. 2 years ago on Google
Nice location in the countryside, easy to get to by car. Only one vegan option on the menu BUT it was DELICIOUS (a Cauliflower Wellington at the time). The leisure centre has all of the expected facilities, the spa is in a separate area. The free magazines are a nice touch. The rooms were clean but not as luxurious as expected, comfy beds. There is a restaurant and bar on site. Hot drink facilities are in the cupboard-worth mentioning this at check in!

The best thing about this hotel was the food... upgraded to a suite room which was very spacious but bed was rock hard. Had a massage which was supposed to be 30mins but I was in and out within 20 including undress and dress disappointing because it was a very nice massage. Glad we got this trip on voucher and not full price.
