Went to visit a friend in Coventry and he kept saying you need to try grillz it's so good. Got the mixed kebab initially thinking it was grilled food like chicken/lamb shish and a kofta, but I was so surprised to see donner 😂 but omg let me tell you it was so darn flavorful the sauce they use for the mix kebab was so addictive and I love fat chips it was the perfect combination 😍 mac n cheese looks really small at first glance but wow it is big and more than enough for anyone to finish. We finished it all off with some mojitos I had the passionfruit mojito, which I get almost every time in a restaurant that serves mojitos😋 10/10 would go back and recommend everyone to try Grillz.

Visited Grillz Steaks and dessert with my family recently for the first time. We were a group of 8, the restaurant was busy so they opened up upstairs for us. The customer service was great, and we were well taken care of. The food came together, and everyone enjoyed their meals. Definitely would go again!

Grillz is brilliant, food is always excellent, fast service too. One point to bear in mind is it is cash only. Highly recommend the Kebabish. For larger parties do book ahead as the restaurant can get full quickly.

Visited this place with my family over the weekend. When we got there, the place looked super busy so we expected to wait a while until we were seated but when my brother went to ask how long we would have to wait, one of the brothers decided to seat us upstairs in the private room. We really appreciated that gesture and it totally made our evening. The wait for the food wasn't that long and the Sirloin I ordered was good but my favourite thing was the mixed Kebabish. Everyone seemed to enjoy everything they ordered too. All in all a wonderful evening. Would definitely recommend this place.

Good portion sizes and the mocktails were nice. Atmosphere was lively and service was good. The mixed donner was a little spicier than I thought, so would see if this could be changed next time… otherwise it was a lovely tasting dish! Cash only restaurant at the time of visiting.

*NOT RECOMMENTED BY ME* After always seeing them packed and driving passed thought I'd go in and test them out. And was very surprised. Crispy chicken was the only thing that was good. Otherwise, the Lamb Ribs were described to me as awesome, but I couldn't even bite the meat off. That's how chewy and tough they were. I did mention to the worker and showed them to which the response I received was "I know" and a little smirk. The sea bass had very little taste. Hence I can only give one star for them giving us food and 1 for the crispy chicken. Otherwise, not good enough. Hence, I will not be visiting again anytime soon.

Give it a miss. Surprised that this place has such an amazing rating. Its a glorified chip shop. Ribs were recommended by the waiter - "fire" he said. Chewy, tough, fatty and inedible. When we mentioned this to the waiter, twice, he just nodded along with a smile on his face. Chips are frozen. Mash we're told is made fresh but I'm sure this is the powdered variety.

Been here a couple of times, a placed loved by locals who recommend it. Their food is decent. I like their donner with shatkora and chips from my first visit the most, their mixed platters are worth ordering too for a little taster variety to pick at on the side, forgot to take pics on that visit. Their platter for one was decent from my last visit. I hear their fillet steak is decent, that’ll be for next time! Service is a little inconsistent but that’s what you’ll get when you hire young lads who are a little too image conscious just standing on the sides rather than being vigilant to look out for customers at tables who may need serving. They’re fine once you give them a shout to come over but you shouldn’t need to do that. Seating also is a little cramped in some spots and you’ll usually have customers passing directly by your table to enter or leave the restaurant due to the layout. Note it’s cash only and there are cash machines nearby. Better for the food than their Aston branch which is the key thing, but the aesthetics and ambience are better at Aston if that’s what your after.

Can’t go wrong with this place. A great family place, something for everyone. The mojitos are amazing. We ordered a variety of dishes, the chicken Parmesan was delicious. Shepherds pie was decent however the mince was clumped together. Worth a visit

Excellent food. Always hits the spot. Never had to send food back. Always thinking about the flavour days later. Worth every penny. Quick and efficient service even when it's super busy (which it often is and for good reason).

When I saw the restaurant from outside I thought it will be take away with basic food, but once I entered I was surprised by the design and the beauty of the place from inside Very friendly staff, very clean tables, Shame I didn’t try the toilets as I judge restaurants by their toilets. Then the food came, so delicious nicely presented very simple but to be honest it was so delicious. They even made a mistake with my order but I refused them to change it from the perfect taste of it. I give them 4 stars even though they deserve 5 stars just for the following reasons: ONLY CASH payment which sometimes cause embarrassment to customers, specially after Apple Pay it’s not useful to carry cash with you. Also they made mistake in my bill charged for something they didn’t provide but they adjust it the invoice and refunded me once I questioned them. I will visit again definitely Have a look at the photos before and after and it will tell you how the food was 😃😃 Keep up up guys

We ordered quite a variety. Everything tasted great. The grilled chops and mash was best I've ever had. Price was average too. Would have liked the music to be quieter though

Such a lovely place with amazing food, lovely ambience and the customer service is top notch. For me the winning dish would have to be the lamb chops. The only downside is it’s cash only and there’s plenty to choose from so make sure your pockets are full 😊

Hands down the best Restaurant in Birmingham!! The decor especially the flowers are very classy. A very warm welcome at the door is always a good start. I ordered fully loaded nachos as a starter and I can tell you they are very addictive and delicious followed by my drink which was a fruit punch mock tail it was absolutely delicious. My maincourse which was a fillet steak was up to my standard hats off to the chef ! Overall I am very impressed thank you so much TEAM GRILLZ for your hospitality the team in there always provide the best service and are always working hard to make sure everybody is happy :) The waiters even gave my son a fruit shoot on the house and some sweets as a kind jester

Meals are pricey, relatively average in taste. Kebabish was succulent, chips and mash were tasty too. However, chicken was dry and bland, chops were one bite, mocktail was a slushy costing £5. Atmosphere, a rustic feel but very cramped. Awning at front is far too low, catching heads. Street parking (on red route) until 7pm but doesn't seem to be enforced (park at own risk).

Been here many of times to eat. Usually the food is quite tasty but unfortunately today visit just left a bad taste our mouth. Ordered a few Loaded Parmesans After ordering the food it literally was made and bought up to us were we were seated more or less in 5 minutes. That's were the alarm bells should have ringing We all thought that was way 2 quick. Anyway started eating and basically between us we ate just over 1 out of the 3 fully loaded parmesans. It was basically scattered chips and few bits of kebabish scattered around the plate, with a small so called parmesan chicken piece in the middle around and over loaded with sauces on top of everything, I had one from Kissans a few weeks back and that had the perfect taste and flavour. In my opinion this creation of loaded Parmesan which is newly added to your menu from when I last visited has definitely taken a couple of stars off my rating. ALSO PRICES HAVE INCREASED CONSIDERABLY AND PORTION SIZES HAVE SHRUNK BEYOND A JOKE...

Steak from Grillz - Coventry Road is better than the Ladypool Road branch. Wings were nice, staff were attentive.

Had the naga and which were good but the Rib eye steak was so small. For 20 quid this was not worth it. Plus it was luke warm. Had to send it back to get it heated. I won't go again sadly. Decor was decent

They make very delicious food, the service is good, the staff are very friendly, there is seating downstairs and upstairs. Parking is on the main road. Payments mostly ask for cash and do not take too long to serve food..

Food was terrible. I ordered a lamb steak which wasn’t even cooked, took two bites and I felt sick. Got told the Parmesan was the best seller lol no it’s disgusting. Wouldn’t recommend

Visited on 9th August for dinner with the family as had seen some good reviews, upon arrival the restaurant was busy which is always good to see. We ordered a platter for 1, chicken steak, kids chicken strips & a couple of drinks, food came out after 15-20 minutes which is completely fine for a busy place, my platter for 1 was a very very generous portion, it had mixed donner, a grilled chicken breast, chicken wing, lamb chop & chips, unfortunately the only thing hot on the plate was the chips, everything else was just about warm, the flavour of each individual item was average, nothing extraordinary apart from the lamb chop which was nice. We ordered a peppercorn sauce to come with the chicken steak, it was easily the worst pepper sauce we’ve ever had, it tasted like pure butter & cream mixed with gravy granules with absolutely no peppercorns or heat which makes peppercorn famous for the sauce it is, the chicken itself was decent, salad on all the dishes were undressed and boring. The children's chicken strips with mash was disappointing, ready made frozen dry chicken paired with what I could only describe as a wallpaper paste like slimy mash, little tip to avoid this, makesure you’re using non waxy potatoes & dont overmix the mash once made as it releases the starch from the potatoes and will make the mash gluey. Overall it’s a 5/10, food was average, price was as reasonable, portion sizes were good, I don’t think I’d be back in a hurry or recommend.

This place came recommended by a couple of people. And despite seeing some recent poor reviews on Google; I decided to visit anyway as everyone has off days. In hindsight, I should have taken on board these reviews… Parking is a major issue as the restaurant is situated along a very busy road leading towards Solihull and Tyseley. Thankfully I managed to find a space a mere 100 yds away. It was incredibly busy as I walked in and the first member of staff said I was looking at around 10/15 mins wait whilst the member of staff behind the counter said it would be about an hour. Miraculously, a table suitable for my family and I became available. It was cramped but not uncomfortable so we accepted. Menu had a good range on offer and prices seemed to be in keeping with other establishments in Birmingham. Starters came out very quick, were hot and fresh. Can’t fault it… Drinks came out soon after and the mocktails were a huge disappointment. Taste wise they didn’t come close any of the others I’ve been to even though the price was the same. Also, they provided less of it, which given the poor taste didn’t seem like a bad thing. Mains were disappointing unfortunately. It was very clear the steak used at this establishment isn’t of high quality beef. You do get a generous amount but I’d prefer good quality over quantity and I’m prepared to pay for that every time. Service wise, I think it would be unfair to say it’s poor. As I stated at the beginning of review, it was incredibly busy. However, from personal experience I do think it’s possible to deliver excellent service even in really busy environments. Just needs the will of senior management team to make it happen… One other thing, and this isn’t a criticism, it’s an observation. Space is a huge issue everywhere not just in Birmingham. I think efforts have been made to get the most seating area as possible out of the floor space and diners comfort was either not a consideration or it wasn’t a priority at all. You could see, even the floor staff at times struggled to manoeuvre around with their orders, clearing tables or just going from table to table.

First off, who in the 21st century doesn't take card? They have a sign saying there's a cashpoint 2 mins away but it charges £2 for withdrawals, so off to a great start! I wouldn't mind them accepting cash only if the menu was reasonably priced, but it really isn't. £2 for a can of coke that doesn't even come with a glass. Talk about extortion! Another negative is the atmosphere. Road man central! I mean it wouldn't kill to have some standards but this place is right on Small Heath's doorstep so I guess that sets the standards. They also seemed to forget we'd been seated. Had to get a waiter's attention even though it wasn't busy at all. Plenty of staff standing around chatting to one another. Food was tasty, and cooked well, though arrived quite quick so not sure if it's pre-cooked and just thrown on the grill. No burnt chicken etc so at least they got that right. I wouldn't go again though, just because it's a yardy boys meeting spot and whilst they have an upstairs seating area, they pile everyone in together downstairs, no doubt for their own convenience. There're enough of these places about for you to find somewhere else that's better.
