Absolutely loved this place. Moated house. Beautiful interior, full to the brim, and amazing wood panelled rooms. Huge history attached. Guides so very helpful, and telling interesting stories. A wonderful warm feel to this house, rooms open upstairs and downstairs. We enjoyed walking the grounds/lake etc. Squirrels, ducks ... even a little nut hatch flying in the woodland area. Lots of school children enjoying the grounds, which was good to see. Very much enjoyed this visit.

A beautiful medieval moated Manor House, with a lot of history. It’s origins started in 1066. Being a NT member it was free for me to enter. General admission prices however, are still reasonable. Stunning grounds with plenty of nice areas to sit and have a picnic before or after exploring the house and grounds. Inside the house is beautiful with many original features including priest hides and the library has all original books. We were informed by one of the very helpful guides that they have conservators in to check conditions of the books. The guides are very knowledgeable helpful. The rooms are very grand and again still maintained a lot of original furniture and fittings. There is an on-site car park, a cafe/ restaurant and toilets on site too. It has the usual gift shop, which at most of these places I think are very over priced. I highly recommend a visit.

What a stunning place! I've visited Baddesley Clinton first time today and I really fall in love with this place. Absolutely great! Not only the house and what inside but also the garden, the forest and lake. This beautiful house has over 500 years of history. I heard some interesting stories about it. The garden wasn't yet full of flowers (still March) so I will definitely come back there in few weeks or months to see the garden full of plants. I will also spend more time walking around. Today I spent most time in the house and I was impressed. One of the best parks/houses I've seen so far. I highly recommend it!

A nice place to spend a few hours. House has loads of history, with lots of nice paintings, furniture and artifacts. The staff are pleasant and very informative. The gardens and woodland walks are lovely on a nice day. Don't forget to take the short stroll to visit the church.

It is a lovely quaint location to go and visit. House is smaller than other locations, but a nice walk around the grounds would imagine it's full of colour when in full bloom in the Gardens. Coffee shop on site is reasonable with a nice court yard to sit in. Really enjoyed our new years day walk.

Beautiful house, filled with history! The volunteers were lovely, offered us a lot of information about the property. They are doing an amazing job at maintaining the gardens and the shop. Had a great experience here! PS: in each room you'll find a beautiful bouquet of flowers!

Always good to revisit, one of my favourite national trust houses and one of the first I ever visited, house was fully open so upstairs and downstairs was available plus the grounds. Also plenty of nature walks to go on in a nice calm rural setting. Highly recommended, don’t forget to visit the small church next to it also worth a look

Visited Baddesley Clinton for 1st time on 19/06/21. I must admit that this place just felt at calm and at peace. The Manor House was so beautiful and delightful so much detail of over 400 year's of changes and adapting to keep up with the Jones. If only this house could speak and tell you the stories and secrets it holds. Gardens was amazing and flowers were blooming 😍. I will be definitely going back again. I really liked this place.

Great place to visit. Free car parking. Friendly informative staff who have great stories to tell in each room. House is very old and interesting. Lovely gardens. House has most with geese who all want to share your lunch. We had a give star visit.

Very interesting place. The volunteers were fabulous with one gent chatting about it being his first day back. Lots to see including a fascinating priest hole. You don't need to book online any more, but have to arrange a time slot for the house when you arrive. The grounds and gardens are very pleasant. There is also a restaurant, small ice cream and coffee stall and a shop. Well worth a visit.

Another lovely visit to a local National Trust site for us. Parking was absolutely fine in a cared for car park, situated right next entrance of the property. Staff throughout the site were polite and helpful. The guides within the house were interesting and engaging with their story telling especially in referring to the priest holes. Lots of information dotted around the house which is really useful. The house is well kept and presented beautifully with fresh flowers dotted about. The gardens are well looked after. Along side a cafe, toilet facilities and second hand book shop, Baddersley Clinton has one of my favourite National Trust gift shops with lots to look at. It doesn't take too long to see most things, but sharing the local area with Natonal Trust neighbour Packwood House can make a day trip seem really worth while.

Went here on a Thursday morning in January. Beautiful house set in a moat. Guides very helpful and happy to tell you all about the property. Beautiful inside and out. Well worth a visit. Gardens look fabulous but as it was January the gardeners were hard at work and there were scaffolders at work doing maintenance.

This is not our first time here - we enjoyed it enough to return. There is a beautiful house surrounded by a moat and a number of out-buildings, some of which are in use as a restaurant, shop and bookshop (not to mention a very nice ice cream outlet). There is also a garden area, vegetable garden, and various woodland walks. Part of the parkland is setup for people planning a picnic. There is also a church a short walk from the house, outside the NT area, that is worth a visit. As always we had to check out the restaurant and this did not disappoint. On the day we visited there was a lovely lady called Beth (The Poetry Machine) who wrote bespoke poems for you following a short chat to give her some background about you. The poem she wrote was great - thanks Beth! Like all good NT sites this got busy from about 11:00. Well worth the visit.

Baddesley Clinton is probably one of my favourite National Trust properties that we have discovered in quite some time. We have been NT members for the past 7 years or so, and have both recently entered our 30's, and on our rare trips away or days off, we like to venture to random properties, or we will find one to stop off at to break up long journeys when travelling. Baddesley Clinton was brilliant! Not the largest of properties, however it is steeped in history. Usually NT properties are large and have grand pasts with a history of large riches passing through over the centuries, however, the house, an expanded Manor house, was fascinating to learn about its long history and how each owner added to its current design and look. The volunteers and staff were highly knowledgeable about its features and history, and inspired me to conduct my own further reading and research into the property upon returning home. I adored this place, and might find myself returning when passing through again.

Absolutely fantastic place to visit. The lady who gave us the introduction before we went in the house gave a very informative but brief talk on the history of the house. The gardens are beautifully looked after, as is the kitchen garden. Shop staff are very friendly and the local plants for sale are worth looking at. Definitely worth a visit, and better if you're a national trust member!!

A lovely house with lots of history. It's not possible for disabled people to go upstairs, but they do have a video which they can watch, albeit on quite a small screen. They have a booking system to restrict the number of people going into the house at any one time, but I think the number must be quite high as the house was absolutely packed during our slot, making it difficult to properly enjoy the house. The in room guides were great as always for NT. The gardens are small but lovely and there are a couple of nice walks around the grounds including a lake. There's a really great bookshop.l to rummage through and the cafe sells the usual pasties, light bites, cakes and the service is fast.

Lovely little house, with lots of rooms to explore, the garden paths are good for strollers and wheelchairs. Some games for the children to play with, and facilities seemed new and clean. We didn't use the cafe but there was a lot of seating.

Note, get here early to avoid being turned away, the car park fills up quickly. The house is lovely, not very large and can get quite crowded but nice to look around. There's lots of wildlife and some very friendly squirrels that came right up for a little piece of biscuit. The second hand bookshop is large, got a handful of books to take home. The grounds around the house are not huge but nice ponds to walk around and early paths for push chairs or wheel chairs. There is a much larger walk through the fields with sheep that's really nice. Will come back.

Lovely day out. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The colour combination from the plants gives a summery vibe to the garden and its really nice to see all the different vegetables being grown. There is a wooded area to walk around to which affords some shade on a hot day. The house itself is different to what you expected. First you cross a moat and enter a well maintained court yard, which you really don't expect from the front! You then enter the house which is set up with period furniture. The house is really interesting and the staff are really helpful and happy to answer questions. I Certainly recommend a visit.

Another beautiful place. You can walk for miles asking the wooded paths and have Tea in the glass house overlooking the river. The interior is magnificent and the guides are great to tell you ask about the secret hiding places for the Priests back in the day.

Absolutely fab place, great informative and knowledgeable volunteers and Chris the ice cream guy, went above and beyond for my children and I. My son dropped his ice cream and Chris didn't batter an eye at replacing it and was very generous. It may have been raining slightly but we still enjoyed every part that Baddeseley has to offer. The free parking was great and the cost of an annual membership is fantastic especially for my size family.

Wonderful moated house , again National trust guides were fantastic , lovely peaceful walk round . Beautiful garden and the rambling white rose over an ancient pear tree was just humming with bees ...

Would give this place 10 stars. It's so beautiful with an amazing history. The gardens are gorgeous. From going in the door, the staff were welcoming and kind. The guides know their stuff and had all the interesting stories to tell. As a Catholic, I felt very fortunate not to have lived back in Tudor times but I had real admiration for the family who kept their faith and gave refuge. They certainly had courage. There is a very good restaurant here and a lovely shop. Also a great second hand book stall with a very charming man! Will definitely be back.

Our first time visiting this wonderful place, the house was lovely but the gardens were simply beautiful. With a well priced café and helpful friendly staff and not to mention knowledgeable around the house too. We also had the outdoor cinema in the evening which was amazing and ran smoothly also, it also gave a really nice feeling during the evening.

What a great experience! We visited yesterday as a group of 5. Upon entering the house the very knowledgable guide took time to tell us a bit of the history of the house and tips on how best to explore. I really appreciated how she then very kindly approached my grandma (who has a walking frame) and told her that if she doesn’t fancy going upstairs there is a virtual tour that she can access. After exploring the ground floor together (the kitchen was my favourite room), another guide got my grandma set up in the drawing room with a video tour. We then continued upstairs, which was just as good, I particularly enjoyed the Chapel and hearing about the different guests that have visited. When we went back downstairs my grandma was still enjoying the video, and I have to say it was very informative - very detailed, almost as good as seeing it for real! We then took a look around the book shop, and I had to refrain from buying up all of the gorgeous plants. Lovely location that I would recommend going to!

Very impressive tour. Seeing the house and grounds were just as impressive as hearing the history of it. The grounds were amazing. taking a trip, just to walk the grounds would be worth it. We'll visit Baddesley-Clinton again.

Lovely place to visit, house and gardens are well looked after, there is plenty of wildlife around the gardens, we didn't book arriving at 11. 50 and it was not to busy we walked straight in, but I can imagine in the summer it may be better to book, the house itself was not to busy, but again I can imagine it been busy in the summer, they give you tickets to stagger visits into the house. The staff in the house are very knowledgeable and nothing was A bother. The coffee shop on site was reasonably priced. The gardens and river walk were lovely, can imagine it been very messy in bad weather, so I would say take boots or wear boots.

Really lovely house with an interesting history. Especially about the priest hole. The staff are historically very well informed and it's well worth questioning them. When I was there it was all decorated for Christmas and very beautiful.

Nice place to take your kids for a day out to see the house history, take an approximately 30minutes tour around the house and another 15 minutes to go around outside the house. Can't take dog unfortunately but there are few pathways around the estates so you can go walking in the nice muddy field with your 4legs family. Theres merchandise shop on the way in after ticket reception, cafe and ice cream shop inside, plenty free parking space as well.

First time we went inside and this is such an interesting place. They have little cats for the kids to search for and a little info about each room that you can read quickly.

Utterly gorgeous building dating from 1250s at it earliest. Really cozy inside and they’ll be lighting the massive stone fireplace in the hall as winter approaches. Gorgeous stained glass, a fabulous romantic moat and knowledgable staff that bring the place to life. Cafe is large and suitable for groups with undercover spots outside as well as picnic tables, and plenty of seating in the converted barn. Lots of plants for sale and the ship is suitably “National Trust Gorgeous”. If you’re nearby make sure you pop in.

A stunning moated property dating back 500 years. There's a nice restaurant and shop and a pretty little garden. You should check the website for opening times and booking details but it's lovely property and well worth a visit.

Truly lovely. The moat with the ducks, the house, the charming volunteers who explained some interesting details, the fabulous garden, the second hand book store. A gorgeous couple of hours. Highly recommended

Beautiful old building, the moat makes it so exciting for children. Lovely grounds to have a wander in with absolutely gorgeous gardens. They also had a "treasure hunt" for my daughter to do in the house. We ate at the café and the food was delicious. Highly recommended.

Quite a versatile place to visit. There are amazing dog walking options in the surrounding fields while the Manor House itself is highly impressive with plenty of interesting information within. The house is mostly accessible though there is an upstairs section which people may struggle to get up to and down from.

A national trust property. The setting for the house is love , surrounded by a moat it is very picturesque. The house itself is interesting rather than spectacular. Limited grounds to walk round In, but do take in the nearby church.

Mid week visit, forgot it was half term so fairly busy. Not really an issue though as you get a time entry to the house to suit. Very impressive house and grounds with great history. The volunteers were very knowledgeable and helpful. Great cafe and shop. Also a lovely church in the grounds worth a visit. Would definitely recommend.

  • 4/5 Lauren B. 2 years ago on Google
An autumn delight. A crisp day, a dry walk through woodland and over fields. Homegrown pumpkins a plenty purchased. Heartwarming spiced soup and a warm fresh sausage roll was a welcomed rest point. A glimpse of what a fantastic renovation the stable and restroom block could become to enhance a further visit. Excited to revisit the garden in the spring and summer seasons. House busy and claustrophobic at points but well managed by tour guides.

Glorious place. Wisteria at it's best. Lovely gardens and walk round lake. Hpuse packed with history and lovely helpful guides. Good well stocked shop. Good cafe to eat in or out in courtyard. Good place picnics out on park. Weekday busy but was lovely weather

Came here same time last year 2021, but the house was closed. Anyway back this year 2022 again whilst on the canals, and the house is open. The house is really worth a visit with great character. The house host all were brilliant and provided a little story re a room and its history, thus just adding that little extra to our visit. Well done house team.

Really lovely place to visit despite the weather being cold and wet today. Beautiful house with a really lovely feeling of a happy family home. Knowledgable and friendly staff who were more that happy to speak to you and describe the Priest Holes and how the family had made changes throughout the centuries. Well worth a visit.

  • 5/5 Becky T. 1 year ago on Google
This National Trust property was such a nice surprise! It was busy, but we were able to get the timed house tickets upon arrival for 35 minutes later. In the house, do recommend taking a look at the timeline in the first room as gives a brief history not found later on. The house was an absolute historic gem - you see about 10 rooms across 2 floors, with beautiful timber, ornate fireplaces, artwork, helpful volunteers. It was decorated for Christmas when we were there, and included tasteful festive trees and decor, interesting Christmas facts in each room, and an activity for kids to spot the snowmen. There is ample parking, a good used bookshop, interesting shop, and the temporary toilets in place were small but clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful throughout - getting tickets, in restaurant, bookshop, and throughout the house.

Our 2nd visit to BC after quite a few years, thought we’d come and have a look at the Christmas decor. Always a lovely visit, we bought our two dogs and did some of the estate walk (public right of way etc) up passed the church and through a gate off the lane to the right and just go straight. A lovely walk to give them some exercise. Then popped into the house whilst they both had a nap in the car. Had a hot drink after on way out. Note the toilets are closed, being re-furnished but they do have super posh temporary ones just in front of the house behind the book store. Don’t be put off the are really nice inside. Great guides in the house, 2 x priest holes. Check out the beautiful library which houses very old books that did belong to and were read by the family of Baddesley we were told. A fantastic looking wine cellar just off the main arched entrance. We didn’t walk around the main grounds today as we wanted to visit some other nearby places and have lunch but BC again didn’t disappoint. Shame the church wasn’t open ? No dogs allowed passed the visitor reception or house or inner gardens, shame you can’t at least take them in a lead around the outside of the house but hey ho, we made do.

A wonderful, elegant house and grounds. There is also a nice 3km walk around the perimeter which was also very pleasant and not too demanding. The house itself, garden and grounds are quite stunning though. Worth a visit.
