The room was a great size with a two seater sofa. Bed was 2 singles pushed together-not ideal. The big let down was the bathroom which was in desperate need of updating. Poor shower controls, shower head not removable or adjustable. However, the surroundings of the hotel are very pleasant indeed with great views from the restaurant terrace. Very quiet so a good night's sleep was had. Lunch menu is pretty good and the quality, portion size and value is good too.

Rooms and hotel was clean, staff very friendly, Only thing stopping me from giving a 5* is no blind in our room ( or though we was asked if we would like to move rooms) and the beds they are small double and not comfortable. Apart from that out stay was great, the bar area had a lot of 70s 80s furniture and you will never be cold the rooms have good heating.

We arrived here today. The location is really beautiful. It's pretty quiet, even though the wind is blowing quite strongly. But that's something you just have to expect when you come here :-) Of course, I can't judge all the rooms, but ours. It has everything you need. To shower, you have to climb into the slightly smaller bathtub and you have to be careful not to slip. But for me, this is no reason to have to deduct a star. Therefore, a full 5 stars 👍 The food was also very good. I can't say much about the spa and golf area, but I assume that everything is fine. I am happy to recommend this place.

The rooms were quite outdated (no outlets near the bed, plastic cups for water, rather dirty carpeting and bedding was a little dirty) Rooms needed an upgrade for sure and a good deep cleaning. However, the staff was super friendly, restaurant food was not too bad, and the bar/lounge area was comforting. I guess considering it’s location, the hotel was not terrible. Spa and pool were a nice addition.

Quite a lovely place to stay while working nearby. The rooms were very spacious, clean and have good facilities. The evening meal and the breakfast were beautifully cooked although the wine (not at breakfast 😆) was a tad expensive, but had to be done 😄

The location is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful setting to enjoy a drink on the balcony . We had a meal and was absolutely beautiful. I had a ribeye steak with truffle and parmasan fries possibly one of the best steaks I've ever had. My husband had the lamb and said it was also delicious. Followed by a lemon and raspberry mousse I would personally call it more of a posset but regardless was still yum and the Eton mess also yum. I thought the drink prices were a little expensive but I'm not from the area so could just be the local prices £11 for a glass of rose and £8.50 or £9 for a gin and lemonade. The room was also very nice I would say the bed was a little hard but that's all down to personal preference and could do with a little updating but would upgrade the room next time we came. The breakfast the next day was a lovely continental that is buffet style with a lovely selection followed by a cooked breakfast made to order, delicious sausages and bacon. Would definitely return.

Excellent service from the staff on every occasion, the hotel is aged but still operating, Our room was separate from the main hotel building where the restaurant, spa and other facilities were located, in an out building. The location is commutable to cotswold but still a good half an hour drive to most attractions.

What a place! Really was not expecting this hidden gem for the price, located so close to the cotswolds. Recently stayed for business and was surprised at the grounds, food, and facilities available. Food was phenomenal, as you can see pictured. The spa was clean and recently refurbished, plus the grounds are just a pleasure to walk around. Rooms are good and require a little updating, but the whole experience more than makes up for it.

Stayed for a few days for work, so really only slept and ate here. The room (a courtyard room) was comfortable with nice furnishings but did feel a little dated, particularly the bathroom. Staff were all very friendly and cannot fault the service. The conservatory offers lovely views of the surrounding countryside at breakfast and I would imagine the terrace would be a lovely spot for a drink in summer.

Absolutely loved our stay here. The gentleman on reception when we arrived was so lovely, he gave us a room upgrade, and the room was stunning. They also sent a complimentary drink to our room for us. Thank you so much. The room was lovely and clean, and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was also very nice. I couldn't fault it. Sadly, we didn't have the chance to use the pool facilities as we were off to Bath shopping the next morning but will most definitely come back and would absolutely recommend it. Thank you so much

I can't vouch for the other rooms although the one we were given was tastefully decorated, clean and fresh. A huge comfy bed within a pretty large room. Had no problems sleeping as the hotel was quiet and our room had little extras like an espeesso coffee machine. There were also rooms in a block external to the main building across the car park. I understood the hotel was going through phases of modernisation, so happy to have been allocated one of the new rooms. The rest of the hotel was to a good standard considering the size and age of the hotel, a lot of the areas were welcoming, comfortable and warm in the middle of winter. Used the gym facilities and pool area which were clean and modern although the gym is small there is still plenty of equipment. Pool was quite relaxing and had a sauna and steam room. A beautiful great orangery acts as a lounge area and breakfast room complete with a piano to play. Loved this part of it just relaxing on a Sunday morning. Breakfast was ok, albeit the service was slow and rarely saw any staff, with tables being left uncleared. Staff were welcoming and made us feel welcomed. Would certainly use again.

We just came here for 1 night, and it's a lovely location set just outside Criclade. Check-in was fairly quick and easy. My room was clean and well presented and for the price was good value. Bed was comfy with good pillows and plenty of ventilation. Unfortunately there was a wedding going on that night so you could hear the bass of the music in the room. We were warned of that when we checked in. The fire alarm did go of around 11.30 but thankfully quickly stopped. Didn't have dinner or breakfast but walked into town to the White Hart, which I throughly recommend. It's about a 30 min walk with some foot paths.

Not a 4 star hotel for me Lack of a jacuzzi Outdated decor Cold rooms as big rooms and 1 single radiator Cold bathroom as window single glaze and no heating Noisy as only single glazing window Stains, marks on radiator, carpet You should have a mixer tap in bathroom: the hot tap is very hot quickly, so can't use it much and he moves all the time, it is not fixed properly DOUBLE BED VERY UNCOMFORTABLE: Couldn't sleep much : be aware not a double bed, just a single bed attached to each other, so you end up sleeping in the middle of the bed and it hurts. Cold as duvet is too short Mattress is very firm, you can't move easily. Horrible SPA: I came here thinking there was a jacuzzi😭😭 Pool is nice, but not deep, only 1.20 m I had a manicure with a friendly young lady, but not very knowledgeable I would say because of her lack of experience: only 6 months here. The next day my nails chipped and you can see the defaults on the nails as not done properly, shame Lighting poor in room and bathroom RESTAURANT : nice views Good to relax and have a drink Very expensive and rubbish food: a dish of pasta , simple pasta : £17 If you want room service: £ 5 extra charge Food IS SERVED ONLY UNTIL 8PM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had to drive to go and get food the next day: very nice kebab van only 4min drive ............

The property is nice, but the service sucks. Check-in wasn’t smooth, had a to wait for 5 minutes while they confirmed room readiness, a fire alarm went off in the night with no staff in sight or in contact, the breakfast took over 70 minutes to arrive, that too after chasing the servers many times…appalling.

This place should be closed if you ask me personally. The room we was in lucky no.13 was appalling. Single glazed horrible dirty windows that you can't open to the curtains because everyone can see into your room. The breakfast in the morning was shocking. The windows looking out to a ok view was so dirty you just don't want to look that way. Service poor. The pools tills broken on the stairs. All I can say positive for this place is Simon when we was checking out was very hospitable and a pleasure to briefly chat too. Won't be back.

Really nice place. Set in a wonderful area. Got there late because of traffic but they seated me for the last table of the day at 8.15pm. really nice staff who were efficient and polite. I had the steak which was mega! Definatley good well sourced food. The room is a nice size with everything you would need. Only bad point is the vent in the bathroom takes a long time to go off. Staying again tonight 😁

Booked in by work for a course and very impressed. Old School decor and layout but that's what I like, everything really doesn't have to be grey and white ! Good selection of food from Bar Meals during the day till around 6 when a proper restaurant menu kicks in. Breakfast is help yourself Continental with other stuff cooked to order. Eggs Benedict very nice. Recommended

The desk staff were friendly and helpful the breakfast service was terrible. Sour milk and non existent server. We were refunded our breakfast charge without discussion. Standard room no 24 was very tired throughout. The spa is the only 4 star aspect of this hotel.

The site is managed by professional, experienced and courteous staff. My partner and I had the most enjoyable stay during our August holiday. Outstanding accommodation and facilities. We'll definitely be staying here again.

Popped in for a bite to eat on the way home from visiting friends, as it was about 4pm we were not sure if we would get anything. When we went in there was a wedding going on which looked great. We had no trouble getting food even though they were busy. The food and service was excellent. So glad we stopped there.

Went for a friends wedding, the venue was perfect location for a wedding. The rooms need a upgrade had a Butlins like chalet feel. Hottest day of the year and couldn't open the windows very well, because the bush outside was too over grown.

I have to say this wasn't a great experience staying here. From the moment we checked in, it all seemed a bit farcical. Presenting my card to to pay upfront for the room I was told my card wasn't valid (which it was) and i needed to present another. There was no help from the young man on the reception and was quite unfriendly. Our room was freezing upon entering, and in need of a very big decoration too. Breakfast was unfortunately was a total disaster as the very young staff on Saturday were so overworked, but also very rude when we asked them if we could order breakfast after having sat at our table for approximately 25 minutes. We were presented with quite a lot of "Attitude" by two young members of staff in particular. Told there were no sausages left for the cooked breakfast, then they appeared on our plates only to be told the chef had found some and defrosted them! They didn't look great so we left them. Sunday service wasn't great as staff hadn't turned in, although the two young waiters were just so polite this time around. After having spoken to a different man on the reception who was very helpful, gave us a heater and apologised for the card reader experience we had on the Friday. Overall the location isn't bad, downstairs decor is nice, but breakfast service was abysmal and the rooms were freezing and in need of a very big makeover. For £207 for 2 nights, the group were very disappointed.
