Went to the restaurant for lunch today. The food quality is great like a traditional Italian very tasty. Service has always been quick at this time and they have a 2 or 3 course offer at lunch. If you can manage desserts they do have a homemade selection every day with all different types of liquor coffee. I have been to the restaurant for lunch many times before as they have an outdoor area now to catch the sun. I feel lunchtime is the best time to go to this restaurant as at weekends it gets very very busy and like most places and some reviews say it can slow the service down. Guys is an Italian family restaurant, pub , hotel and a nice walk along the canal. So understandably if you don’t like busy places go at lunchtime.

Went for teddy's bear picnic. Lots to do. Lots of space. Needed abit more signs for picnic etc. As never had been before. Restaurant was extremely busy as expected so didn't eat inside. Looks lovely and historic. Will come again when quieter.

Really enjoyed our meal here. Certainly upped their game since receiving just one star hygiene rating. Would really recommend 2 course lunch offer

Lovely location - directly off the canal. Arrived for. One night stay as a family of five. Booked an executive family room - great sized room, kids loved the spa bath. Room a little dated but no issues. Loved the biscuits left for us. Ate in the pub in the evening (sat outside as it was glorious). Food was good. Ate in the restaurant for breakfast - not the best for kids as very few options - should have eggs/beans on toast as an option - maybe pancakes? We ordered extra on our breakfasts and then shared it out! Kids loved the Easter Fairground and said they had the best time ever at Guys. They want to return so all in all a successful visit!

Went for a light bite and guys never fail to deliver. Been going to Guys for roughly 35 years and not 1 bad meal. Atmosphere always great and staff lovely (particularly the girls) we noticed they always sd thank you but some of the young men didn't!!

Always a pleasure to visit Guy's Thatched Hamlet. Nice surroundings, nice atmosphere and on a good day you can sit and watch the boats go by. Absolutely loads of parking, a few on-site outlets, hotel and a fantastic pub. Beer and food is top-notch. The cask ales are served to perfection! If you're in the area, it's well worth a visit. Quiet today, but can get VERY busy!

Very welcoming and helpful staff at reception on arrival. Our room was spacious and spotless. lovely view from our window and most importantly peaceful. Shower facilities were fab, bed was slightly hard but other than this no complaints with the room at all. Beautiful grounds to walk around and love the quirky setting. Pub looked lovely but didn't go in as was far to busy to get served unless you wanted to wait 10+minutes for a drink. We walked a stone throw away to a local pub and had a beautiful meal, then returned to the other side of the canal and had a peaceful walk down the canal side before returning back to our room to relax. lovely stay would recommend

Eaten here many times. Never disappointed with service or food. Been a few years since I last stayed over. My room looked quite tired, especially for an executive room. Clean enough, but needs a little TLC. The facilities are good on the whole. Staff always great and friendly. If charging nearly £100 B and B, be nice to have a fresher room. That said, I will be back to eat again many times.

This place is just lovely. It is so deceiving. Its beautiful enough from the front and we went on a bought a drink, lovely friendly staff and quick at the bar. Also they watch who is coming to the bar to ensure they serve people in order. I love this as I hate it when rude people try to be served knowing you were there first. We went outside to go by the canal and to our surprise there was a lovely little village as part of the estate for people to visit. It was a lovely little place. Drinks were nice and we went to the Italian that is on site. The Italian was lovely. Fresh cooled food. Generous portion sizes too. I got a chilli chicken starter which was lovely and risotto for mains. The garlic bread was lovely too. Prices where steep but the food was nice. Lovely decor and atmosphere.

Celebrated 40th birthday. Staff very helpful and professional even though we were a larger booking of 30 people. Good value set menu choices and delicious complimentary garlic bread served. We also booked 2 executive spa bedrooms plus a family room. Good cooked breakfast served following morning in Guy's restaurant. One of our favourite places to stay.

Visited here recently for a walk down the canal, which is lovely. I was going to grab some lunch but I checked the hygiene rating online. ( Which I always do before eating somewhere) and it only had 1 star!!! Which is disgusting. Avoid

Guys, thatched hamlet was so good we had to go back even just a week later. I can not put into words just how fantastic the quality of food is there in combination with friendly attentive staff. We have definitely found our new favourite Italian restaurant and will be coming back regularly. The main meals are mouth wateringly good and the desserts are equally as impressive.

Not been here for nearly 30yrs, but stopped off here between Christmas and New Year for lunch whilst visiting relatives. The pub looks 'olde worlde' inside and is situated right next to the canal - nice to sit outside in summer. Menu has the usual pub favourites, I went for the steak and kidney pudding, and my my girlfriend had the scampi. Both meals were nicely presented and well cooked. Glad we stopped here, we would definitely stop again when in the area.

This is certainly a place to visit, close to the canal with a superb outdoor area. A great range of cask ales along with just about every drink under the sun on offer. The pizzas are really nice and at a fair price. They also have regular events and even the occasional fair for kids, you really can have a full day out if you fancy it.

The room we stayed in was comfortable with a jacuzzi, the breakfast was ok but that may have been because of the previous night's alcohol, the main meals however, gamon steak was cooked to perfection but the chips that came with it could have been used to re-line the canal and last as long as the original masonry, watch the price of the drinks too, as the night goes on the same round you bought an hour ago goes up in price.

Just had a drink outside, which was pleasant enough sitting in the sunshine 😄 . I don't think I would want to stay there It's looking a bit lack lustre, but situated in a nice spot & probably a good place for families to visit .

It was good value, we had the daily special in the restaurant, really enjoyed it, food was out the kitchen very quick, questioning that some products not cooked to order, staff were very nice. This is a great place to go, right next to a canel. You wouldn't be upset if you drove 45mins to get there.

Great place for an overnight stay. Good friendly staff. Brilliant food as ever but unfortunately the table service was a little slow on this occasion, normally second to none.

The menu all looked great but I settled on the carbonara and it was delicious. Everyone in our party was very happy with their meals and portions also. Was a lovely place to have a meal out.

This is a gorgeous little place, everything like eateries, a pub etc all in one place with lovely views at the side of the canal.. The room was a standard room which was standard but very clean and warm and the bed was king size and so comfortable, there was a gorgeous clean bathroom with shower, parking on site not far from the car.. The only trouble was the noise when the pub closed, people shouting, security banging on doors because it sounded like women where fighting, people banging up the stairs and basically no consideration for anyone else, the people in the room above had the telly blazing all night but once it got to 2am it was silent and no noise from anyone.. I would definitely stay here again in summer and the staff here go above and beyond, excellent customer service in both the pub and front of desk..

Called in at this lovely pub on our way to the Lakes. Had a great meal. Would recommend the Cumberland sausage with mash- delicious 😋. Great atmosphere. Can't wait to call there again!

Guys is a very popular venue for anyone who is looking for an overnight stay with nice surroundings a pub called owd Nell's and a great Italian restaurant. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but may benefit from some updating, also each of the executive rooms have jacuzzi baths, I prefer the deluxe executive or open plan executive as the regular executive rooms have the toilet sink outside of the bathroom, so as you can imagine everyone who has been to the loo has touched the door handle without having washed their hands. Great place though and I have been every year for the last 10 years.

Love this place. My husband and I go for our anniversary every year. Guy's Restaurant has excellent food and Old Nell's canal side pub is cosy and friendly. The superior executive rooms and the open plan rooms are great. We prefer these rooms over the executive rooms, which have a smaller bathroom.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here and the service was great! Loved the Italian menu, but there was also a really good choice of other types of food. Service was fantastic and the location near the canal was spot-on. The pub next door had a brilliant outdoor seating area overlooking the canal. Definitely recommended x

Beach and bounce was a fab day.out with the kids. Really reasonable prices for the rides with the sand area being free . The actual bouncy part was 4.50 for however long you wanted and as ling as you weren't I'm and out all time it was unlimited. I think the boys spent a good hour in there. Good range of age appropriate things to go and rides. Can't believe I have Never been before. I shall be back next year
