Stopped here yesterday morning with my husband. This place needs a heath warning slapped on it. The floor was disgusting below our table, I’m sure it had not been cleaned for weeks. The tea pot had two chips in the spout and was badly stained inside and out. My tea cup was also heavily stained so I had to get it changed. To top it off our scones that we ordered had been forgotten about so we had to ask for them again. None of the staff looked particularly bothered about the state of the place. Also the furniture looks extremely tired and needs replacing urgently.

We visited Patisserie Valerie today for afternoon tea having driven 45 minutes to finally use one of our Christmas gifts. I had read previous reviews but went with an open mind. The welcome was warm and genuine. The place was perfectly clean as were all the tables . The afternoon tea was lovely and included free tea or coffee refills which was a bonus. We were impressed with Rushden Lakes Shopping Centre too, spacious and very suitable for disabled visitors.

Came here mid wee fora coffee with the wife and to meet a friend. The first thing I noticed that the wrong pull)push was on the door. The selection of cakes was super limited and the upholstery on the furniture was in need of repair or the leather was warn out or peeling. The coffee and hot chocolate that was ordered was ok. There are better places to have coffee and meet up on the shopping estate.

Disgusting is putting it politely. Dirty tables and dishes. Staff are rude and not presented well, when serving throwing food onto trays, spillages and a complete dog's dinner. In need of serious deep clean, and upgrade the staff with some good customer service. Not a great selection of food either, cakes were stale and way over priced. Very poor experience will definitely avoid. Ruined 1st mothers day. Thank you for the horrible experience. Avoid at all costs.

Dirty and unclean. Patisserie Valerie cafes are usually lovely, with better than expected standards for everything. However the Rushden Lakes store lets the chain down. I pop in infrequently, perhaps once a month, always on a weekday morning so it's never busy, and the place is never clean. Tables are not wiped down, the floor is absolutely filthy and obviously isn't swept for days at a time, let one mopped, the counter where the baguette and filled rolls are kept is dirty and clearly hasn't been cleaned in a long time. I mentioned it to one of the girls working there who was apologetic but said they were without a manager and there were problems with staffing at the moment. If a food establishment is not clean it shouldn't be open.

Went here for afternoon tea for two. It is in a lovely location and there's plenty of free parking. This is the best branch but we travelled for 1 hour to use a voucher here. It's very sad that the Birmingham Resorts World branch and Leicester High Cross Branch permanently closed a few years month 😢. The toilets are clean and nice. We asked for a vegetarian option and this was catered for. They gave us our first drink despite kindly requesting that we would like it once we have the rest of it. The latte was replaced with reticence. This was unacceptable and a disappointment as the patrons of such establishments have high standards. The food was nice and the scones were simply delectable. We were given two drinks each when it used to be, to my best knowledge, unlimited. Obviously coffee beans are far more expensive so less drinks is more profitable. Two ladies were helpful and one was very miserable which detracts from the customer experience. Overall the views and afternoon tea for two was very nice but the service was poor. I've had better service from my local McDonalds. Overall l wouldn't recommend it but it's acceptable to visit if you really have to but there is a Greggs a few doors down. There is a decent selection of food and desserts but could be much better. This chain has gone downhill which is a great shame. Wake up and smell the coffee ☕️.

Went recently for Afternoon Tea, staff were welcoming and friendly. The Afternoon Tea itself offered a nice selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes. Thoroughly enjoyable experience and thought good value for money. Would definitely recommend a visit.

This company has to the next one on the lisit of companies that will close, what a dump . Worn , dirty and staff who really don't care. Toilets were out of order , outside tables full of bird muck . The whole appreance of the place was we don't care ! . Scone afternoon tea arrived on a plastic butlins style tray , clearly frozen then warmed up as rock hard .coffee far too strong . Please people don't book it was awful and nothing French about it . I couldn't add photos but would of loved too

Had an afternoon tea voucher, so went in to use it today. The 2 girls serving did amazing as they were so short staffed. The food was nice and although they said there would be a wait, it didn't take too long. The place looks generally tired and needs revamping, but due to the lovely staff today, it was a good experience.

This is the very reason why you should avoid this company. I have been to 3 different sites of there's and no dates on products, the shelf life giving is never followed and the people higher up don't even visit the store to know what's going on. This store got a 0 star health safety rating which tbh is only because can't give minus. Romford is the same and ao is milton Keynes. Least here they paid there rent and didn't have bailiffs turn up during lunch rush due to none payment of rent unlike milton Keynes. There is no structure, no training, staff don't care because bosses don't care. Avoid all patisserie valerie if you can and ask your family to give you just eat vouchers instead of "tea for 2" which is days old after being prepared and left out all day. 🤢🤮🤢🤮

Thoroughly enjoyed working with Patisserie Valerie and the team at Rushden Lakes on todays fundraising event. Thank you for being such generous hosts, and catering to our needs! Cannot wait to work with Dale, Tasha, Toni, Ellie and Shanelle again! We are currently looking at booking more events in like it.

I’ve just been and I don’t think I’ve ever had a worse experience. I was given a dirty spoon - not just water stains but actual crumbs and fluff, I ordered a flat white but was given a watered down drink. After waiting nearly 20 minutes for my drink to get remade I politely asked to just be refunded and they ignored me and handed me a worse drink than before. I’d understand if they were busy but the whole place was nearly empty. The staff doesn’t acknowledge the customers, their machine is filthy and they seem to have absolutely no training, they don’t know how to tell the difference between the coffees. Just go somewhere else.

Very upsetting experience for an afternoon tea with my sister for her birthday. We phoned beforehand and were told there would be plenty of space to accommodate us. But were told when we had arrived they couldn’t fit us in. The service from staff was very poor. We then were told we could have our afternoon tea if we waited another hour. When we came back after this wait we had to clean our own table which we noticed had sat dirty for a few hours. The toilets both had an out of order sign. The afternoon tea arrived with missing components. Overall the experience was disheartening and the service from staff really let this down.

Took my nan for afternoon tea this week and we had a lovely time looking out at the lakes. The staff were accommodating and the afternoon tea was delicious 😋 the only criticism is the arm chairs need a revamp! Thank you Pat val we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and shall be back 😊

Lovely experience here today Food and scone’s amazing and the service from Shanelle, Emily and Toni was exceptional. Great atmosphere and the toilets were spotless. Nice to see such a positive turn around at the best Pat Val Around.

Fantastic place for coffee, cake, afternoon teas and the staff are all very friendly. It has recently instated a new manager who is slowly turning around the level of service, and expectations. We could not have had a more brilliant experience, and would definitely recommend.

Popped in at the weekend for a post wedding dress shopping treat with the girls. 6 of us including a little one. Amazing cakes, fantastic service and lovely coffee!! Great atmosphere - so calm and serene watching the boats too. Cannot recommend enough 💜💜

Popped in to work from PV today and had a very good experience. Hot chocolate was lovely and the salmon and cream cheese bagel with rocket was delicious. Great selection of cakes were tempting too and I had a lovely view of the lake from my table. WiFi was really good for work purposes and both employees on duty were really pleasant.

Had afternoon tea . It was a Christmas present. I took my best friend with me . It was very quiet so we were able to have a really good nattering enjoy the tea which comprised of sandwiches 2 mini scones jam and cream and 3 delicious cakes and to top it off refillable tea. We thoroughly enjoyed it . Would highly recommend.

We stopped for coffee and lunch while shopping, there were no queues, the coffee was excellent, we had both milk and the dairy free options. We had cakes which were delicious, fresh and filling, expensive but worth it. We had a lovely view of the lake from inside. We sat in comfy chairs by a window and it was clean and accessible. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and our order was served in under ten mins. The coffee was hot and better than most. We will definitely be returning again. The only downside was one cake in the box we bought to take home was completely stale, but the others were all perfect. An overall lovely place.

I was given an afternoon tea voucher and after reading some poor reviews, I was a bit pessimistic! However, I needn’t have been. The staff were lovely and accommodating, working very hard, being pleasant and polite, the sandwiches were fresh and tasty, the cakes were delicious and the scones were light and fluffy. My cups of tea were just as I like them, hot and strong and my husband’s cappuccino was delicious and hot. Personally, I don’t think it’s overpriced for what you get and I’ve definitely paid a lot more at other places, for the same amount. Yes, the decor may be tired, but so what, if you get good service and value for money!! Will definitely be going back.
