šŸ˜  Upon entering, they placed 39 Euros worth of appetizers as we sat. They did not offer us menus. After I said no, they left the food on the table, and brought another server to explain what he had for dinner. Still no menus. Long story short we were charged 69 euros for dinner. 39 of it wasn't a con... People often mention restaurant, good,

Upon entering, they placed 39 Euros worth of appetizers as we sat. They did not offer us menus. After I said no, they left the food on the table, and brought another server to explain what he had for dinner. Still no menus. Long story short we were charged 69 euros for dinner. 39 of it wasn't a conversation we had. The other tables were native Portuguese speakers and they didn't drop off appetizers the same way. I think it's the lack of transparency and communication that left us leaving the restaurant feeling like the servers intentionally played to our lack of the language and "scammed" us. Tourists don't eat anything they just set out on the table, it isn't hospitality.....it's not on the house.

Although there were a lot of tables available in the restaurant, restaurant requires a reservation. This is not mentioned in website and reserved tables are not labeled. Restaurant uses Covid-19 as an excuse. I have also seen costumers being expelled from their table before ending their meal, because their slot was over. Costumers were not told before their meal that they would have limited time to eat.

Great place! The food was delicious, the staff was really helpful and the ambient is great. The interior is all in stones and wood, there is a large fireplace to warm up in the winter. There is a large selection of wines and beers. The menu has some delicious options like the roasted pork and boar stew. We were there with kids and they loved the burgers!

Casa do Clube means Clubhouse in English and that's the perfect name for this place. Set back off a side street by a small yard with a stone wall, walking or driving up the driveway to this place feels very exclusive in a welcoming way. The dishes here are simple, yet flavourful. The octopus salad was full of freshness and extremely delicious. It's very easy to eat through the menu with small plates under 7ā‚¬, with some bigger entrees available for under 15ā‚¬. This place provides amazing atmosphere and food to match.

On a snow day best place to warm up the body and soul at Serra da Estrela - CovilhĆ£. The hot cocoa and the roasted chorizo is the best!!

While it is a good atmosphere, and the food was ok, as a tourist, you need to be very careful about this place. Sat down and immediately they brought out 4 plates of starters and a basket of bread and didnā€™t tell us anything about it. Now I have heard that this is a thing and that you can refuse, but I didnā€™t think it would cost much. Well I was wrong and one of them cost over ā‚¬25! So if you do plan on eating here, just be aware.

Great cozy place with very good food. Just giving a 3 to the service and for the owner and/or room responsible. I know large groups with small kids are a challenge but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be welcoming them.

Tasty and perfectly homemade small food portions honoring the region's gastronomy. Very friendly and attentive staff. Typical mountain ambience. Great way to experience and indulge the local culture.

If you go Serra da Estrela, then Casa do Clube is one of the spots must go. The environment, the energy, the people and the food. Brilliant!

The only place that has veggie burgers in its menu. We loved the hospitality here and amazing desserts. Must try if you are staying or hiking at Serra de estrella.

We arrived at 8:45 to be told we were lucky as they were closing, this meant that we were served food very quickly almost rushed through as they obviously wanted to close up. We had wonderful cheese and some cured meat with papo seco (cheap) bread, one shared plate of beans and pork no sweet house wine and a coffee and it was ā‚¬47 this is far far too expensive, absolutely crazy price. By comparison in the Algarve my local restaurant does two full ribeye steak meals a litre of wine sweets, coffee etc. for ā‚¬30 for two. I would never recommend this place.

šŸ‘ Friendly place. As vegetarians we were pleased to have two options: spinach parcel and vegan burger. The presentation of the burger is unconventional (no bun, comes with rice) but I liked it.
