we found this place unexpectedly after the San Dimas Beer and Wine Walk last weekend. 🍣 Osaka Sushi 🍣 Hero Albacore Roll 🍣 Giant Roll (w/o the spicy mayo) It was such a pleasant surprise. Everything we got was delicious specially the nigiri pieces (I stole he unagi and the shrimp from my bf lol). The Osaka Sushi set came with: Yellowfin tuna, salmon, black snapper, yellowtail, tamago, shrimp, seared albacore, halibut, unagi, squid, and kanpyo maki. Haha in the first picture I already ate half of the hero albacore roll since it came before the other two. I think the hero albacore would taste better if it has some citrus sauce but it was still good tbh. The giant roll was sooo damn good the way I ordered it. It has salmon, spicy tuna, and scallop. This is my favorite of the two rolls we had.

Little Tokyo has and hasn’t changed a lot over the years. My family and I have been coming to this location for roughly 20 years, and it still is without a doubt, our favorite Japanese restaurant in Southern California. As of October 2023, they have changed their menu once again. It’s arguable whether the older or newer menu is better. The old one came with more for the same price, but the new one is more customizable to your liking. But despite everything, their quality has not dropped, and that’s what’s most important. Also, if you’re not a big sushi fan, we highly recommend what used to be called the Red Rock but is now called Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna under “Special Sashimi.” Absolute game changer and incredibly delicious. Everything I’m talking about is in the attached photo. See you there!

Okinawa and D.C./Northern Virginia brought some great sushi experiences. We found Little Tokyo after moving to San Dimas Last year. This is one of Los Angeles Counties hidden gems. Some of the best sushi/sashimi I've ever had. If you look closely they go the extra mile with the fresh wasabi. I waited a year to post because I wanted to hoard our favorite restaurant, but we can't keep them to ourselves anymore. We order two rainbow rolls and sashimi appetizer every visit. Make the drive. It's well worth it.

I am ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTED IN MYSELF for not trying this place any sooner LOL FINALLY A DELICIOUS AND BOMB Japanese restaurant and sushi place that’s close by to home. It’s really hard to find good places like this and so glad they started advertising on instagram. Everyone is super friendly, atmosphere is perfect and don’t think there’s anything wrong or bad about this place. We ordered to go only bc it’s been a long tiring week and wanted good food to take home and damn this place did not disappoint! I recommend anyone to come here and OH the portion sizes, my inner fatty is happpy 🤣

Plenty of parking, takes cash and card, and lots of seating. Nice, low-light dining area that provides good ambience (apart from the music selection). But man, the service was great from the start! Personal and prompt, the host had hot green tea (genmai cha), complimentary edamame and a tasty cucumber salad in front of me within moments of sitting down. I sat at the sushi bar and the chef was extremely personable and cordial, and gave great recommendations. I ordered the OMG roll, Sexy roll, and one if the house specialties, the seared tuna sashimi with miso sauce--which I HIGHLY recommend. All the plates were also a work of art. These folks take pride in what they do. Highly recommended.

Not sure what's been going on with this restaurant the past few months. Sushi is old and the food quality is dropping. They are also raising prices. Beware of this shift and that the reviews are higher because this is one of the only sushi spots in San Dimas.

Amazing sashimi! My parents used to go here religiously 20+ years ago and I finally got around to visiting. It lived up to the hype they have been giving it! The quality of the fish was AMAZING. Definitely the best tuna sashimi I have ever had. The free miso soup, edamame, and dessert orange slices were a welcome little addition to the whole experience. We sat at the bar and had a great time talking with our chef. He catered to us so quickly and was so friendly. We even were served two chef’s creations on the house: a salmon sashimi topped with a jalapeño sauce and a baked salmon topped with clovers. Both were very good! I actually was very pleased to see the check too. We ordered a cut roll, a fresh roll, a hand roll, and a sashimi appetizer. For all we got, it was just over $50, which is not bad at all for 2 people at sushi. My only regret is not getting a sake shot for my chef or even a beer to cheers him with and for that reason I will certainly have to go back! :)

This gem in San Dimas/La Verne has its perks. From the great tasting food to the amazing presentation. The food is always superb quality. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area. I drive from Fontana just to eat here in the beautiful city. Also, try the dinner plates and the Spicy Sashimi Salad.

Went and had lunch here, was very impressed by how great the food was and staff was very great to give a good experience. The sushi was very fresh and tasted amazing, the blue fin belly tuna is worth it! The calamari as an appitizer was very good. Overall a great time and would go back again.

From my experience, the sushi is delicious, the staff is friendly, the decoration in here is great, and the food came really fast. My only issue is the price it's pretty expensive. 4 stars.

  • 5/5 Annette M. 4 years ago on Google
Lol. I feel like i dont need to leave a review cause they're all great, like little tokyo, great. But, first, i saw a four star and the persons reason was the WALLPAPER??????????????? first of all, weirdo, this is the cutest, cleanest, adorable and intimately tasteful decorated sushi bar i have ever seen. I actually thought the owner was an interior decorator. How funny. But, the owners of this restaurant treat their employees like a million bucks, and it shows when your greeted and served. I ask, why are you guys so amazing? They say, our boss tells us and treats us that way. Hello other restaurant owners, wake up.

This is probably some of the best sushi that I've had in the area. The sushi is always fresh, and I've never had fish that seems like it's old. I always get the sashimi personally, although I have also had the tempura which is equally as good. It's breaded nicely and it's not overly greasy or anything. The rice is basic but a classic. It's never been poorly done for me, so I'm happy with that. They also bring you free edamame. As for drinks, their tea is amazing. The glass that they serve it in keeps it really warm without burning your hands, so props to them for that. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They come over quickly, refill the edamame, and refill teas. The food always comes out fairly quickly. The interior is pretty nice. It's you run of the mill sushi restaurant decorations, but it's not like it looks run down at all. This is probably one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the area. I really enjoy the food and I come here quite frequently. I would highly recommend. UPDATE: They no longer offer edamame for free and the outdoor seating isn’t the best at all. If it keeps going downhill I’ll have to change my rating :/

Not bad, but sometimes their sushi is really a miss. I've tried several of their baked rolls and you can taste the freezer burn on the fish.

Literally the best, and freshest sushi place in the area. I have tried other sushi places in the area, like on Foothill/route 66. It is cheaper here than in LA and it is almost the same quality, if not better. There are so many variety of rolls and the price is cheap compared to other places that are closer to the coast. Surprisingly fresh fish and sashimi. There are times where they run out of a certain fish, but it is not that common. It is a wonderful place to bring friends and family for an American sushi experience. This place is my preferred place to eat sushi.

This use to be our favorite family spot. But our last visit left me disgusted to the point where I won’t ever be returning. Sushi is supposed to be fresh. We ordered blue fin toro which was at MP and when it came out I thought they mixed up the order because of how different it looked. I tasted it and couldn’t bring myself to swallow it. I flagged down the waitress and she even stated she’s never seen that fish that color. If you have bad fish, DO NOT SERVE IT! Shockingly she also stated that coming on Sunday is not a good idea because they usually only get fresh fish on Monday and Wednesday. Once she said that I didn’t touch anything else on that table. They didn’t even refund us for the $40 toro. I wish I had taken a picture but she took the plate of my table immediately

Still getting used to this whole Sushi thing but they have great teriyaki chicken bowls and my favorite udon noodle beef soup vegetables. California rolls and all kinds of interesting creations that are worth the experience.

This is a great Japanese restaurant serving sushi n other traditional entrees. Today was cold n windy n I was craving soup so met up with a friend and we both had the Tempura Udon soup. It was tasty n filling n hit the spot. The service was great n friendly n professional as always. The atmosphere us quaint with lots of true Japanese decorative items. Once we got there around 12 pm, the place nearly filled up in half hour.

This is a great sushi place. The fish was SO fresh. The staff is totally attentive and they were on top of dishes and beverages. The sushi tasted so good. Will definitely be back.

It is definitely an overall good restaurant, but the prices are a little high. The service has always been amazing, and I know because of how often I come here. The food is very good, and the fish is fresh. My personal recommendations are the mackerel sashimi, the Russian roulette roll*, and the OMG roll. Highly recommended, however I will be undergoing a change in ownership soon so I can't foresee any of the possible changes. *be careful, no matter how good your spice tolerance is the Russian roulette roll will kick your a$$

Food was good. We got the Crab Cracker, Tuna Tower, and Little Tokyo roll. All of it was presented well. Environment is casual and noise level is medium. They have an 80's playlist going the night we went.

Loved the sushi! I've seen this place for years but never gone in. Today was the day... I'm hooked! You gotta try this place if you love sushi. They have the best Spicy Tuna Roll I've ever had. We had 4 different rolls. This was one of them before we got to it. LOL
