Dr. Nancy T. Vu, MD

Neurologist

😠 Dr. Nancy Vu is the worst doctor I have ever encountered. I did not go to her practice, but she WAS the neurologist for my mother's case at the hospital. How dare you tell a cancer patient that is attempting to FIGHT for her life that it'll be easier to just die and take the burden off of her kids?... People often mention doctor, patient, patients, care, Nancy, appointment, money,

Dr. Nancy Vu is the worst doctor I have ever encountered. I did not go to her practice, but she WAS the neurologist for my mother's case at the hospital. How dare you tell a cancer patient that is attempting to FIGHT for her life that it'll be easier to just die and take the burden off of her kids? Other comments she made were that chemotherapy is poison to the body and she will end up bleeding out during surgery anyway because of the blood clots. She kept repeating to my mom that it'll just be better if she dies. The fact that my mother is separated from my father was brought up as well-- stating that there's no point in living without a husband. Yeah. Okay. Let's stay with an abuser because a picture-perfect family is more important. Stop projecting your own insecurities onto your patients. I will be reporting this doctor to the California Medical Board. Any doctor that refers Dr. Vu to their patient needs to reconsider their choices and refer a different neurologist. I feel bad for those older folks who don't have advocates. Nancy-- you should reconsider your career choice. If you're not going to have compassion in the medical industry, then either retire or find a different career. You should feel ashamed.

I made 3 phone calls to make sure the doctor would see my teen; OK, as long as she didn't have autism. *No one mentioned cash only. *No clue why they take the $$ BEFORE the consultation. *No clue why the assistant spiked the sphygnometer up to 260 (very tight, painful), THREE times, on a healthy teen. *He picked up to calls while working the sphyg--pay attention to the patient! *Dr. Vu was a treat: not sure what to make of her or her tiny cell crammed with things sort of disorganized, she commented how it's hard work with patients dumping their troubles on her (ahem, maybe consider a new field, like teaching tai chi), how western medicine can't really do anything unless it's a simple (clear) problem, how the chief complaint could be due to many things like genetics, lifestyle, diet... yep, not quite sure what to make of her. But she spent "a lot of time" (she said this 2-3x) talking to us. Hmm, as a fellow PCP, I never tell my patients my 1.5-2 hrs with them is "a lot of time", as listening is more important than talking, diagnosing correctly is important, getting the patient to feel value for their time and $$ is the reason for my service. Btw, receptionist needs a shot of sunshine, some happy juice, something to dampen that attitude.

If I was able to, would give her less than one star. I went to her for my migraines and she did nothing to help. She gave my one med, that didn't work, and when I went back she gave me another and said I was looking for the miracle pill. She even told my to get off my birth control, which is impossible, I have conditions that will appear if I don't stay on it. She then said the next thing she could prescribe is the narcotics. I told her no because I work and have three kids to take care of. She doesn't care what is going on with me or anyone else. She is ridiculous and I will never go back to her again.

If there was a way to give zero stars, I would give this Doctor a zero. Please stay away from this place if you care for your health. I tried making an appointment for my mother, and they only spoke in Vietnamese. I tried to tell her in a nice way that I couldn't understand and the receptionist got mad and put me on hold. That was a red flag for us to see another doctor.

Regrettably, Dr. Nancy Vu embodies everything that makes a terrible physician. She does not show compassion, her staff is unprofessional, and the patient is not at the forefront of her practice. You would be better off seeing a car mechanic for your medical needs. Her practice is an unfortunate addition to the medical community. An incredible shame.

The staff at the office I went to were nice. The doctor, however, was insensitive and unable to listen to my concerns. The not even 10 seconds into when I was describing my condition, she commented about my posture. I dont mind the posture comment, but she proceeded to spend 10 minutes explaining exercises for my back and spine. I did not come here for posture advice. Any comment on my posture should be told after we discuss what is wrong with me. I was stunned and so was my dad. She ended up diagnosing me completely wrong.

Had a horrible experience today with the female receptionist that answered the phone. I am a new patient trying to make an appointment. I checked online to confirm that they close at 4:30PM so called around 4:10PM to make an appointment. Shouldn’t take more than 5-10 minutes. Informed her I’m a new patient with an insurance authorization to see Dr. Vu. First call she put me on hold after she answered. I waited about 5 minutes then called back. She rudely told me they’re closing soon and to call back tomorrow “around 11AM.” Informed her again that I’m just trying to make a new patient appointment. She rudely asked “you have what, caloptima??” I explained I have private insurance and had obtained and authorization from insurance. She proceeded with “next appointment is November when does your authorization expire?” After telling her my authorization expires in November, she put me on hold AND NEVER PICKED UP THE PHONE AGAIN. Ya girl tryna see a neurologist for my headache but I think this receptionist made it into a migraine. Never have I experienced such unprofessionalism. Will be notifying insurance for a different neurologist. Please don’t go here, staff is too rude to be in the medical profession.

Nancy Vu is terrible at her job. Doctors don't have compassion for patients, don't care about their work, and just want to take money from patients. My 85-year-old grandmother, who is seriously ill, spent a lot of money on this ignorant doctor to get her documents certified. But in return, there is rudeness, loss of money, and incomplete documents. Nancy Vu should not continue to practice. She is the 1 heartless doctor with no professional ethics that I have ever known.
