Gorgeously renovated art deco cinema that inspires romanticism for film goers. Cinema 1 is majestic but could benefit from a bigger screen, better sound and allocated seating that reclines for the ticket price.. The candy bar could also be improved with more modern food and drink offerings.. But still a fantastic cinema complex which leaves all modern cinemas for dead when it comes to drama, style and theatre..

The Regent in Ballarat is mostly spectacular. It has a stunning facade, the interior is beautifully antiquated and Cinema 1 is huge. The smaller cinemas are comfortable and effective, the staff are generally friendly and helpful, and parking is relatively easy in nearby streets. The only major problem is the incredibly low volume levels in Cinema 1. It looks like the perfect venue to see opening night blockbusters but it always disappoints. Until they triple the volume in there, stick to cinemas 2 & up. Great family pass & loyalty discounts too. Support your local cinema, Ballarat folks. And drop in if you're visiting the area, tourists!

I called asking to book tickets due to the website not working. I get told to come in! I ask what's the point of booking and why can't I just pay over the phone. That guy ends the call.. I guess that's easier than doing your job I call back and speak to a manager. I get told I can book over the phone. I said asked "why" you guys wouldn't take my money before I'd put in a formal complaint but no one listens. Pathetic customer service

Beautiful, quaint, and peaceful movie experience. Wonderful helpful staff. The second day of the T3 VIC school holidays but Ballarat is a quiet town so we had the entire cinema almost all to ourselves at the 3.15pm session. Great popcorn and drink deals!

Very disappointed with the gold class experience.. comfortable seats ,โœ… however no service during movie, bar closed kitchen closed. Price should reflect service and so should name. It would have been better to call it silver class as it's not up to gold standard. On a positive note, it is a beautiful looking cinema and the staff were lovely.

This cinema is stunning. The interior design is truly special. Cinema 1 is massive and like old truly spectacular. Last few visits to this cinema there has been an issue with the screen almost like there is an oily texture to the image and this is very distracting and does break the immersion considerably. The other smaller cinemas have comfortable seats and provide a more intimate experience. Generally the sound is quite good too but sadly I have experienced better. Iโ€™ve been to gold class a few times however I honestly feel it is not worth the extra cost. I do hope they fix the issue with the screen in cinema soon as I donโ€™t want them to lose customers to the new cinema in delacombe

In town for work and decided to see Indy Jones at this classic and elegant cinema on a cold Tuesday night. Nicely kept and maintained cinema, with gorgeous wooden features, chandeliers, carpetry throughout. Price was good. Cinema was very good and seating was excellent. Got some popcorn which was fresh and tasty and a hot drink. Appreciated having actual people serving it rather than the self-serves of the big chains. Plus, had ticket-taker ushering through. Sound and visual were very good. All in all, a very pleasant experience in comfortable old-time surroundings. Would gladly go again if in town.

Usually staff are friendly and helpful - this has been more evident in the last 3 years! Now that Covid has eased restrictions The Regent has started to put together Movie Marathons (eg all the Harry Potter movies over a weekend) which is an awesome idea. When I was a teenager it was a regular occurrence for The Regent to have Movie Marathons on over the school holidays. These were overnight Movie Marathons aimed at teenagers which was great bc it was something that we could do & we looked forward to. Often lots of 'kids' movies come out in the school holidays, but not as many for that 12/13 to 15/16 age bracket. The 4 or 5 movies that they put on were a mixture of classics, including different genre, that that age group would like.

The cinema is great. Love the old school decorative pieces in the entrance and through the main theatre room. It has gold class available and stays up to date with all the new movies. Highly recommend buying a membership as the tickets become so cheap and pay for themselves on the first purchase.

Terrible experience. Air conditioning wasnโ€™t working. Staff didint alert anyone prior to purchasing food/drink. Do not recommend during the summer. Also I understand the appeal of keeping the heritage in the cinemas, but it just felt old, taccy and out dated. Donโ€™t waste your money, go to an IMAX in Melbourne.

Beautiful building to experience watching a movie in. Clean and comfortable. It was cheaper than going to one of the major cinemas also. So happy with the experience.

๐Ÿฟ๐ŸŽฌBallarat's Regent Cinemas hold a certain charm, but prices have seen an increase over the years. Opt for sneaky snacks, and plan to arrive 20 to 30 minutes early, especially considering the absence of dedicated parking. Street parking is an option, but parking at the train station and walking down is a well-recommended choice. Overall, many prefer this to Showbiz.๐ŸŽฅ

Watched a Malayalam movie in theatre No.3, The Seats were not good and the screen alignment was not proper. Interval time they switched on the lights a minimum of 5 minutes prior. It was disturbing to watch the movie properly.

Charming building but totally outdated theatre wise, seats are worn with upholstery peeling off, the sound literally sounds like it comes from computer speakers up the front, definitely no surround sound. Worst part was hearing the other movies from the neighbouring theatres while your trying to watch the movie you paid for. Seem like they make decent money there but make no effort to update the theatre. First and last time visiting, won't be back.

Came here from Melbourne just to watch Oppenheimer. First time and had an amazing experience. Got Premium seat at Cinema 9.

Love this cinema, I would have given them 5 stars but they make it so hard for you to use free tickets! So many ever changing rules. Mostly nice attentive staff, nothing beats good customer service!

Absolutely awesome cinema. Old school look buy great screens and sound systems. Especially in the main cinemas. The cafe is the jewel though . Cold Drinks, great food, cakes that are just delicious and the staff are incredible friendly.

She's a mix of modern and classic old. 1 big theatre 4smaller and 3 with full large recliners and food and bev service. Website is very hard to book thru. And sometimes not a help voice on other end. However the cafe staff and kiosk staff floor staff are very helpful. Parking hard to find and often a good walk to theatre.

Very expensive and the person working the box office not very personable. The theatre was clean and very comfortable! The concessions very high dollar but that is too be expected. Spent $30 to see an 11:30 am showing of a movie, small Coke and small popcorn. The movie was SUPERB - Where the Crawdads Sing.

Cinema 2 is VERY steep, so keep in mind when choosing your movie which cinema you'll be able to walk up. Check by phone and ask for advice. Especially if you've bad knees for example. Apart from them I absolutely love the new and improved Maryborough Paramount Cinema. Very helpful staff. 5 stars

Seating is too close to the screen, sat in back row of gold class and it felt like I was sitting in the front row. I found the volume too high which is saying something as it's coming from someone who is slightly deaf. The seats were very comfortable and well spaced. The staff are wonderful, very polite and ready to help with everything you need. Well worth a visit for some time out, relax and enjoy. We saw a movie with a bit of humour and it was wonderful to be in an environment where everyone enjoyed a good laugh.

First movie post pandemic, so had a bit of a splurge with SHOWCASE tickets. Fantastic experience, great seating, lovely food and friendly efficient service with a smile. Will absolutely be back again.

The staff were very helpful both at the ticket stall and Cafe. The movie THE DROVERS WIFE was even better if nobody has seen it you should .

What a fabulous cinema!! Booked a showcase seat and enjoyed the comfort and ambience of that theatre, along with a cheeky wine I could take in with me, to enjoy during the show ๐Ÿ˜Š

Still good cinemas. Would like allocated seating as we purchase tickets early but got there right on start time and had to sit front row. Parking is a nightmare do leave enough time to find parking.

cinema 1 is beautiful but the seats are so small. I'm 6ft and 115kgs and it's very uncomfortable sitting through a movie. the smaller cinemas have been recently renovated so have Much better seats. it's hit and miss here with the cleaning, last night it was very clean, but I've been here before during peak times and the seats were sticky and gross and there's food all over the floor etc. It's a beautiful old building and worth experiencing once, but personally, show time in delacombe is a much nicer cleaner cinema.
